I witnessed something outrageous today while we were waiting for our appointment. A woman arrived with her child and when checking in was asked for her health care card, and she made an excuse about not having it and gave the receptionist a hard time. She was asked to fill out some forms, which she did, but then it got interesting. The receptionist told her that she had called MSI while she was filling out the forms and MSI had told her that her healthcare card was not valid. This woman lost her mind on the poor receptionist, who by the way has always been super kind and helpful in any interactions we have had with them since my kids have been patients at this clinic. They don't pay these receptionists enough to be putting up with the kind of abuse this woman hurled at her today. She was given options to proceed with the appointment, which she declined. Then as we were going in to our appointment, I overheard the receptionist tell the doctor that this woman had called the clinic after they left to yell at her some more. And yes, the doctors can run behind, but I have never been rushed out of my appointment here because they were behind with patients before me in order to catch up. Be nice to the staff!! They don't make the rules... read more

They aren't as prompt as my family Dr, but I have never had to wait more than 30mins past our appt time for in office visits and phone appts are no more than 10 minutes "late". Dr Trider is very thorough and even referred us to a specialist that was not related to what we see her for (we see for ADHD - I mentioned that my daughter snores, she took a look and saw her tonsils were large so referred her to ENT). When she needs to calls/sends in prescriptions, we can pick them up within 6 hrs of appt. My daughter will soon be 16 and no longer with Dr Trider. I feel that over the last 9 years she has shown us the tools and resources to best help my daughter. She is moving offices before our next visit. It will more convenient for us. read more

If I could give a rating of zero stars I would, however the lowest option is 1 so that's what I'm leaving. Here is why: - They are never on time. We literally wait between 2-4 hours past our appointment time to be seen every single appointment. Yet they will charge you a late fee if you're held up in traffic for five minutes. - Phone call appointments are even worse, because not only do you wait 3+ hours, sometimes they simply don't even call. - They rarely answer the phone, and the receptionist is rude. When asked why am appointment was missed or no one called back, they will scoff and tell you they're busy. - It takes hours of calling non stop to get someone to pick up at reception. (If they even pick up at all). When they say they'll "call you back as soon as they can" it takes WEEKS or months. And that's if they call at all. - They rush you through the appointment and are dismissive. - They forget to send prescriptions to pharmacies routinely. This office is, by far, the absolute worst doctors office I've ever dealt with in my entire life. They're unreliable, dismissive, and they're so disorganized it's a wonder they even function. It is nearly impossible to get a hold of the office. Half the time they don't answer the phone, or it just rings busy. If you leave a voicemail, it takes WEEKS to get back to you, and that's IF they even do. My son was a patient of Dr Trider and literally every appointment we had, we waited AT LEAST 2 hours last our appointment time, most of the time longer. This happened for all six of our appointments. They'll charge you a late fee if you're a few minutes late because of traffic, but they routinely make you wait hours. This is the same for phone call appointments, but half the time they never bother to even call. I had booked off time for an appt for my son and waited FOUR HOURS past the time for my phone call appointment. I tried calling and no one answered. It took THREE DAYS of calling to even be able to get through to the office, and when I asked the receptionist why no one called me during my appt time, she just said they were busy. So not only did I lose an entire day's wages, but my son still couldn't get a refill on his prescription that he'd run out of (and the only reason we ran out is because the office rescheduled and missed so many appointments to get or refilled). My son's prescription isn't something he can just stop taking, doing so would result in withdrawal symptoms and pain. We went to the pharmacy in a panic when our appointment was once again missed by the doctor, and the pharmacist was able to give us a few pills to hold us over until we could be seen by another doctor because, and I quote, "that office is really bad for doing this to patients, we see it all the time". Even the pharmacies know how awful this office is. My family Dr had referred us to this office for my son's ADHD diagnosis, but eventually our doctor agreed to treat my son's ADHD because the pediatrician's office was simply impossible to get a hold of and was actually harming my son's health due to their inability to reliably keep appointments or prescription refills. read more

If you're looking for a professional, kind pediatric office in the Halifax area, this is not the place for you. My wife was a patient here her entire childhood, and recently has moved to the United States where she is required by immigration to have a medical examination. In doing this, she needs her vaccination records so that she is not vaccinated twice. We called a week ago asking them if they could fax us the info seeing as we are in the states, and the receptionist (Wanda) explained that they require $10 to give that information out. Understandable. My wife said no problem, I can give you a card number or wire you the money, whichever is more convenient for you. Wanda replied "no, she needs cash or check in hand." My wife reminded her we are in the states and won't be able to hand her the $ seeing as she's not allowed to leave the US until her immigration is complete. To which the receptionist replied "do you not have family living here still?" So instead of asking my wife's family to make the drive downtown to hand an office $10 to receive documents that are rightfully ours, we paid a courier to deliver $10 that afternoon. 3 days went by and we still had not received the fax. My wife calmly called back, and the same receptionist answered. (Wanda) She told us that she only got the payment the day prior, and that faxing us the paper was on her list of things "to do" and that she'll fax it today or tomorrow, to which my wife replied no problem. Now keep in mind behind the scenes we are having to continually postpone her medical exams here in Florida. When I called back to explain to her the urgency of the vaccination report, and that I would really appreciate if she could send the fax over that day, as it only takes a second to punch in a number and send a fax, she insisted that she would do it "if she found the time." I asked her just out of curiosity what she would do if my wife walked in right now with the $10 in her hand. Would she ask her to wait 4-5 days for it? Or would she just grab them and hand them to her? She replied "so let her come in then." I VERY politely reminded her once more that we live in Florida now, her response was, and I quote, "maybe by the time she walks here from Florida I'll have them ready. " I am in disbelief that this is an adult woman working in a doctors office. The absolute offensive sarcasm, the unacceptably horrible customer service, and the sheer rudeness of someone supposed to be a "professional" being a representation of the doctors themselves. I've read plenty of reviews on this doctors office, and this isn't the first time "Wanda the secretary" has been exposed for the lack of professionalism she exemplifies. Just a miserable woman who hates her life and will HAPPILY take it out on you and your family. It is an embarrassment to the pediatricians working there, and I have zero doubt they will eventually remedy themselves of this extremely impolite, and disrespectful business practice. But UNTIL THEN, do yourself and your children a HUGE favor, and FIND ANOTHER DOCTOR. We are now 5 days in, and still no vaccination records, which have BEEN paid for! Looks like our next step will be having law enforcement obtain them personally if need be.. Let's just really hope it doesn't come to that. read more
