What a gem of a clinic! I spent a good chunk of time volunteering for the HSHC back in my…read moreuniversity days, but I've also come here as a patient. The good: - Pamphlets x 100 in the waiting room. - Posters for local events, services, workshops, etc. all over the place. - A wide array of free/inexpensive services - pap tests, STI testing, birth control (of all imaginable types, including Plan B), abortion counseling and arrangement, pregnancy tests, breast health exams, anonymous HIV/AIDS testing...you name it, they've got it. - A welcoming, respectful, and highly inclusive environment. - Awesome staff: empathetic, respectful, and highly discreet. - Fun events from time to time. Less good: - Wait times can be long. - Appointments may be difficult to obtain, especially if you're looking for something sooner rather than next week. In addition, clinic hours are limited after 4 pm, so chances are you'll have to take a morning/afternoon off to get checked out. Really, though, there's not much to complain about - certainly nothing that's out of the ordinary for a busy medical clinic. Don't be afraid to check HSHC out - you won't regret it.

It's easy to discuss any topic with the staff without feeling judged. I appreciate the privacy and confidentiality that the clinic employs, particularly with their phone contact - no giveaway name on caller ID and no name given for the clinic on voicemails. I can see how this would be particularly important for some folks. The clinic provides needed unbiased, science-based information, which is hugely important and sometimes hard to get for some topics like unwanted pregnancies. FYI: The clinic is a not-for-profit, so if you care about everyone being able to access sexual health services (e.g. paps, STI checks, pregnancy checks, birth control, IUD insertions, etc.), you can donate any amount to a collection box they have and they also write receipts for larger amounts.

Luckily I was pointed toward Dr. Desneiges who I say without hyperbole changed my life. Her non-invasive approach to wellness managed to not only reset my muscles, but clear my emotional state and improve my perspective on managing stress, anxiety, and all sorts of other negatives. The approach you'll find used at Inner Waves is the polar opposite from your snap, crackle, pop chiropractic as Dr. Anne uses Network Spinal Analysis to get the job done safely and effectively. If you're not quite sure where else to turn, I challenge you to go to Inner Waves and not walk away feeling brand new.

The only practitioner of Network Spinal Analysis east of Montreal, Dr. Anne provides her patients with well rounded chiropractic care, and encourages them to recognize the connection that all aspects of their lives have with their overall health. Since beginning treatment, I can say that I am more aware on how my stress, relationships, exercise and diet and other factors influence my health, and I am better equipped to understand my body and the signals that it gives to me.

I was somewhat nervous but very excited at the prospect of getting LASIK. I went on the website and…read moreas I was able to book directly there, I went for it! The website was very easy to navigate and all the documents needed to answer any questions were accessible. On the day of my FREE consultation to see if I was a candidate, I was met with a smile! The staff answered all my questions and I couldn't wait to go back once I found out I was able to get LASIK done! On the day of my surgery, I was a little nervous, but having spoken to a friend who told me the step by step process, I knew what to expect. The doctor was very to the point and very reassuring in his calm and direct manner. Some may find that a little cold, but I think it portrayed excellent professionalism. I don't need a friend, I want a person who is there to do his or her job and focus on that. He walked me through what he was doing and before I knew it, the surgery was done. After, the rest of the staff were so great, very calm and pleasant. The ride home was difficult as it was a bright sunny day, but every day since, I say "It's worth it!" It's only been 3 weeks, and I have some dryness and some aches if I have too much screen time, but it's healing well and I have no regrets. If you have the time to go in for the consultation, DO IT! It has made my life so much better!

I have suffered from inflammatory arthritis for 20 years and had to travel to the US for IV infusion therapy. I recently found out that this clinic can now provide the same therapy, so I no longer have to travel so far to be well. I can't praise Dr. Jillian Cole enough for the time she has spent with me, her sincere desire to make me better and her passion for her profession.
