I find the staff here to be pretty friendly and helpful, they can help regarding both HSBC and First Direct accounts. I could easily pay in money, even though I had forgotten my card, as I had access to my online banking portal. The branch feels fairly modern overall, I like the "This is Manchester" branding on the exterior window and the overall look/feel of the branch. I do find their opening hours to be a little restrictive, especially on weekends, they close at 1 pm on Saturday and then they're closed until Monday, during the week the hours are the standard 9 - 5. 4* - Good bank branch in the centre of town for HSBC and First Direct customers and one I'll surely be returning to in the not so distant future.

And I've been to a few. It's got quite a few floors which probably meets a lot of different banking needs. There's always lots of staff looking to help you, answer your question, direct you to a floor or one of the most easiest, self-sufficient pieces of machinery ever made to man. Most of the time going to the bank is a hectic, painful experience. But it's made ever so easier at St Ann's.

This is the flagship branch in Manchester and is often used for promotion with Lloyds Bank as a whole. I do like both the interior and exterior, it stands out and is rather modern. The opening hours of the branch is pretty good: They're open until 7 pm during the week, closing at 4 pm on weekends, although they don't offer a Counter service on Sunday's, there are ATM's to pay in/withdraw cash which is handy. I do find service here, in general, to be a little slow, there always seems to be a long queue no matter what time of day you visit if you need counter services, I feel this is much better handled at many other banks across the city including TSB, and Metro Bank but Lloyds Bank are one of the largest banks by the number of customers, so that has to be expected. (They still could handle everything better though). I do find it unique how there is a coffee bar inside, this is for Lloyds Bank customers only. It is a nice addition however you do have to pay for coffee, I don't understand why this is limited to Lloyds Bank customers especially given the fact the coffee isn't cheap (Virgin Money which is a couple of stores away will give you a free drink). 4* - A stunning branch with a good number of machines inside, it's easy on the eye but if you're hoping for a more complex service, you have to expect to wait.

Having recently become a customer at Natwest, I've begin to do many banking activities at many…read morestores and one of the latest of them is this one on Deansgate, inside the Spinningfields area of Manchester city centre, next store is the huge RBS banking group building which also includes a branch of Natwest's sister bank RBS. This branch inside was quite nice, it felt up to date in terms of technology, with a good amount of cash and paying in machines, which was good - however... the staff here were quite poor, there was no meet and greet service despite there being not a lot of customers in the store, I wasn't welcomed as I would have been in other branches which is a shame. I mainly came in here to use the cash machine to transfer money between my accounts and this was easy enough to do, is the same machine as Natwest stores nationwide such as my local stores in Manchester city centre and Middleton. This store is slightly nicer than my local Manchester City centre store, however, it is much smaller, with the city centre store being out of date, with computers often running Windows XP, the branch just feels old, however, I hope this can change when they relocate on the corner of Market Street, however that is a different review of a different branch of Natwest, albeit probably the closest nearby branch to this one. Overall, this branch is okay and for convenience, I feel 2 stars is a worthy rating for this business, but it is a slightly small branch, perhaps even smaller than the Oldham store, and while also considering the poor staff, I feel this branch is only worth a two star rating. UPDATE: Due to an improved standard of customer service on a recent visit, and the fact this is probably nicer and quieter than the more central branch in Manchester, I feel this branch deserves a three star rating as until the new store of Natwest opens in the city centre, this is probably going to be the nicer, more modern and quieter branch.

This is the closest branch to my office so I called in to make an apointment during my lunch break…read more I provided my details so that someone could call me to set up an appointment, however a week passed and I'd hear nothing. I decided to try again a week later as I really needed to sort out my finances. I had to wait for a short period before being seen to, and it just so happens that I was seen to by the General Manager. I raised a complaint about not receiving a call back after leaving my details and I was informed that this would be looked into and I received multiple apologies. The computer at the pod we were sat in decided to freeze, but i was quickly transferred to a private room and eveyrthing I needed sorting was done and dusted within 35 mintues. After the initial disappointment I feel that I was treated with the upmost respect and it was very clear that the staff were sorry for what happened and that the matter would be bought up with the person to blame. All in all, I would return there.

Santander is one of the many banks in Manchester city centre, originally founded in Santander (a…read moreSpanish city) in 1857, before coming to the UK in 2010 (with banks branded as Santander), after the bank taken over Abbey. This particular branch, is relatively small compared to other banks in the city centre such as Halifax and Barclays, but still it is a reasonable size to be able to do your basic banking needs. This branch isn't as nice as the likes of Halifax and Lloyds, but it still basically does a job as a "local bank", but still you expect that little bit more in the center of a big town, like Manchester. With a poor situation regarding my current bank, my main purpose of visiting Santander today was to enquire about joining them, I found the rates very poor, and to offer me 1/4 of what Halifax and lloyds had offered, with no other services to make it worth loosing out on their offer, it just seemed to be below average account, at non-competitive prices. The person who served me, did seem to understand me and what I was after, but still she could have made more of a personal connection, which basically to me made me feel like the staff were simply average here. This bank looks a little old fashioned from the outside too, which makes it look closed from a distance, and in my opinion in such a busy place in a large town, they need to make their shop stand out, as competition is huge in an area like Manchester, and with it being near enough directly next to or opposite Halifax and Barclays, people are just going to go there, unless they make their bank look great, and stand out. As I said earlier, this isn't the nicest of banks but basically serves as a "local" bank for Santander customers, but I would recommend going elsewhere for your cash if you are with another bank, such as Halifax or Lloyds for example. UPDATE: Due to a recent issue with a cash machine outside, where i felt like my card could have been compromised due to the complicated nature of the cash machine, firstly having to select between languages which no other cash machine in Manchester I've seen offers, but then the cash machine was just poor, hard to use and after queuing up, I had to queue up elsewhere due to the complicated and "Dangerous" nature of the machine in general, I feel because of this the bank deserves a downgrade to a single one star and this had put me off becoming a member of Santander. UPDATE: A cool improvement with the indoor cash machines and the range of unique services it offers such as emailing receipts to Santander customers, I feel the need to upgrade this branch to a two-star rating, the staff seemed helpful enough but the service was still slow and the amount of cash machines inside the branch (3) really isn't good enough for a city center branch.

Virgin Money on Market Street is in the same unit as its' predecessor B Works…read more(https://www.yelp.co.uk/biz/b-works-manchester) - it is pretty much the same bank as the main difference between the two stores is an ownership change which meant the store would be rebranded under the new Virgin Money name, who interestingly do have branches around Manchester too so this is their second store (they also have a lounge a couple of minutes away for their customers) The store does look a lot better and it does stand out now on Market Street in a part of town which is already dominated by banks including the new Metro Bank which also opened (near enough directly opposite) in December 2019 (when Virgin Money took this branch over) Right now due to complications with the merger they are only able to access the accounts of B customers and new Virgin Money customers, due to it being a complicated merger of two banks but that does plan to change in the future. The staff are as friendly as ever, the opening times are still pretty much okay and better than most other banks nearby. They also do have multiple floors which can be rented out for private functions/meetings and of course used as a work-space with drinks provided, I really do think they're doing so much better with the drinks now as since the store opened earlier this month they've always been packed with drinks compared to the former B Works store here, which would regularly run out. The mobile signal in and around the store is pretty poor which could sometimes make work difficult, the wi-fi did take a little while to connect too which was frustrating. This store is certainly a step in the right direction and is improving on a B Works store which already was pretty good, although let down by connectivity issues of wifi which for a digital-based bank should be better (even the app is one of the hardest to log-in to and it hasn't changed with the merger with the new company basically using the same app - granted it isn't this stores fault as it's the bank in general but surely worth a note).. 4*
