I like this Halifax better than the one in Brixton, it doesn't get as busy as the Brixton branch, it's ideal that it gets a 2nd money deposit machine though, read more

I've just recently moved to London from the US and was having a hell of a time getting settled in,…read moremost of which was caused by not being able to procure a UK bank account. It's a bit of a roundabout issue here where you can't get decent housing without a bank account and you can't get a bank account without decent housing. I had no idea that the credit check done on you is actually done on your place of residence and the credit attached there, not necessarily all just you. Very frustrating. At my wits end, and after going to several banks in and around Soho (and getting very rude and exasperated responses to my questions - as if I was doing something wrong by moving to London and not knowing my way around the financial system), I came across this HSBC in Chinatown. Bruce is my HERO. Not only was he completely accommodating to my mistake of thinking an appointment was way earlier than it actually was, he was very reassuring, informative, patient, kind, and most of all, funny. Thank you so much Bruce for easing my final transition into London life and helping me feel like a productive adult once again. You were the only one out of several bank employees in Soho that didn't treat me like an idiot and instead like a friend. I can't tell you how much I appreciate this, and most of all, appreciate you alleviating all the stress from this last stage. Thank you, thank you, thank you.

Walking back to the office, I was pleased to spot the familiar blue logo out of the corner of my eye. No queue here! A couple of cashpoints ("ATM's" to Americans) inside and one outside, plus a handful of business and personal banking teller windows. My deposit was quick and efficient and done in a flash. When I need banking, I'll be back to this branch again! The only downside is that the tellers here are behind a serious amount of glass. It did not give me a very warm and fuzzy feeling and I was very glad to be back on my way with my cash in my account!

I came back after a weekend trip to Paris, and was met by a lovely lady by the name of Joan Reid. She deserves serious recognition for her customer service. Setting everything up was no problem, and she told me she was available to help me out if anything ever did come up, providing me with her work email address (not on the business cards). Awesome! I took a star away because I couldn't get set up on the same day as I came in, but that might have been an unrealistic expectation.

Halifax at Westfield London is one of two major banks inside Europe's largest shopping centre in…read morethe Shepherds Bush area of Kensington, London. It is pretty handy in its location, with cash machines which can be accessed whenever the main bank is open or closed, perhaps to withdraw cash to spend in the mall. The branch isn't as modern as one would expect as it is a modern mall but basically falls into the average look and feel of a Halifax store, albeit a little smaller. The opening hours are quite useful being open until 18:30 daily, only shutting on Sunday's but this is common for 99% of banks in the UK. There is a small amount of seating, but it isn't the most comfortable or relaxing seating, but it still is one of the better places in the mall perhaps to sit down and relax for a moment, connecting onto the reasonable free-wifi, perhaps to do some online banking, yelping and everything in-between. Location, free-wifi (common for every bank), long opening hours and cash machines make this location "A-OK", a three-star rating is warranted mainly for ease and location.

The Eltham branch is nice. Although it is smallish on the inside, there are normally 4 cashiers available, so you don't have to spend too much time queuing. There is also a good number of ATMs inside the branch too.

From the outside, the bank really does stand out, it is cool and beautiful with modern bricks. Inside and outside the store has a good amount of cash machines and newer ATM's where you can do most of your banking activities, and they also have a counter service too. The bank also has slight twists in the decor which are pretty cool and modern to emphasise the location in Westminster, London such as Big Ben engraded into the wall where some of the banking machines are. The staff didn't seem too friendly or welcoming, albeit this is common for London, it again is a shame to see. This is probably one of the bigger and better banks in Central London, compared to other banks nearby this is vastly superior of which does warrant a four-star rating.

It is located on Piccadilly opposite Green Park station fairly close to other banks - HSBC and Santander. This is mainly somewhere you'd only visit if you are a Metro Bank customer, compared to calling into the closest bank just to use the ATM. The opening hours are common for Metro, much better than most other banks in the UK between 8 am and 8 pm, closing two hours earlier on Saturday and then OPENING ON Sunday's between 11 and 5, basically as long as the shops are generally open, Metro Banks like this one are - a general rule of thumb with the bank expanding across the UK. I came in here to enquire about joining an account - the whole concept excites me especially with Metro expanding closer back to Manchester where I live at the end of the year - I was told how easy it was, the staff member I spoke to seemed really friendly and helpful and open to answering any questions. The slightly confusing layout at first and not having a great number of cash machines let the branch down - if it wasn't for the opening hours and great staff it'd be a disaster but still it is average in most factors, above average in the positives mentioned to warrant a high three-star rating.

This location in Fulham Broadway is pretty cool, the staff were friendly and attentive and printed my new card in-store, I only had to wait for a couple of minutes. I love how if you lose or have a problem with your card, you can come into store and get a new one, compared to other high street banks that make you wait for days. I was even able to leave, get a few things from Sainsbury's and come back. The store is normally open until 8 pm but as of the time of writing (September 2021), they are still on reduced hours, closing at 6 pm. I do also dislike how like all Metro Bank locations, they lack indoor cash machines, this can often mean the experience of paying in and withdrawing money is quicker, but the staff are friendly and happy to help, as quick as possible. 4* - Friendly service, the bank looked pretty good too, lacking some features but still all in all a good place to bank. It's a useful location within the shopping centre, offering basic banking facilities including ATM's which are open to pay in and withdraw money whenever the mall is open. Otherwise, the branch is open between 10 am and 5:30 pm Monday to Saturday, but at certain times which includes the final hour of opening during the week and the whole of Saturday they do only offer digital/automated services which isn't ideal, but at least it keeps the store partially open. From the outside, the store looks good with the purple, modern theme similar to the Natwest logo but the interior of the branch is a little old and it's a shame the interior and exterior don't seem to match - having a layout similar to the Piccadilly Station (Manchester) branch would match perfectly. I really like how the sort-code for this branch is "602012" with the 60 meaning Natwest and 2012 marking the year of the Olympic Games which were held in Stratford, with the Olympic Stadium just a short walk away (Westfield its-self opened towards the end of 2011 ahead of the games). A well-located branch offering basic banking facilities within a shopping centre, but if you're looking to do more, speak to a member of staff or avoid long queues for an understaffed counter, this branch isn't for you. 3*
