I tend to neglect my car a bit, I do a fair bit of lumping gear to and from events so sometimes I…read moredon't see the point in keeping it completely clean day in day out but (around) once a month I venture to a car wash and get a Mini Valet. USA Car Wash is fantastic, as mentioned I go for a Mini Valet which will set you back £10 (+£1 for wax) for this you get the full exterior of the car washed (including wheel cleaning). they then get you out of the car and give it a good hoover and wipe down the dash and upholstery. The staff are fantastic here, there's absolutely zero messing about. You pull up, they beckon you in to an area and they get to work - a mini valet takes 15 minutes maximum and you'll be impressed with how thorough they are. One thing to think about is how busy this place is - The Shore Road itself is a busy road so the car wash obviously gets a lot of business. I'd avoid peak times (Saturdays/Sundays are rammed). It's cash only too so make sure you visit an ATM before hand (there's one at ASDA opposite).

The other two are Maxol stations with modern Spar stores joint on whereas this garage is a little bit old school, with a smaller more personal local shop attached. There are six pumps here selling unleaded and diesel, they also have a vacum service as well as an air machine for altering the pressure in your car - the air machine takes coins (20p) so there's no need for tokens or to even go in to the shop if you wish to use this service. The shop is paypoint friendly meaning you can top up your gas and electric here - they also serve a small selection of hot pastries and everything else you'd expect from a local corner shop. There's often great food deals on - the counter next to the checkout has the best bargains. The staff are fantastic here, always ready for a chat and generally pretty chirpy! It's next door to a chippy and a chemist too! No ATM at this garage but they are okay about using card for smaller transactions! Needs modernised slightly but does the job just fine!

I won't name names, but it was basically gross and disgusting. I really didn't know who would be able to sort out the ahem...whiff, and excuse me...stains, but these guys did the job. And then some - you would have thought you were getting back a brand new car it was so clean and fresh. Of course it didn't last long in that perfect condition, but it was never as bad as it was before I can tell you! They were reasonable in price for the detailed job they did, and if you need the underside of your car steam cleaned for MOT, they do that too. They are very busy most of the time, so you need to get organised if you want booked in.

Right, I'll start off with the basics…read more It is obviously a petrol station with 6 pumps selling both diesel and unleaded petrol, it also has an air and water station ideal for pumping up tyres and filling up windscreen wiper spray (technical, I know!). There's also an ATM to the right of the shop on the forecourt. But here's where it steps up a notch. I only found out recently that you can order items online to be delivered to this Maxol garage and then you can pick them up at your own convenience. Although be warned, when you go to pick your items up you'll have to jump through more hoops than a hula hooper at a circus! The Spar shop also has a top up machine for pay as you go electricity and gas users and accepts card payments with no minimum spend. Other amenities include a large fruit and veg section and a coffee machine. Talk about an all rounder!

Great hassle free van hire in Belfast…read more Needed a van for a Sunday and this was the cheapest place I could find in Belfast. I was able to collect it late afternoon Saturday and drop it back again early Monday morning and only got charged for a day - £60 The staff are friendly and make the whole process hassle free. The van itself wasn't top of the range but did the job for what I needed and there isn't anyone walking round with a clip board circling any chip they can find so it really takes the pressure off. All in all a great service, I don't think I will hire from anywhere else in the future
