This is probably the biggest beer store I have ever been to. I could stroll around here for hours looking at all the different beers. They also have NA options as well. There is a small area where you can have samples of some beers and you can taste all or just one. This store also sells great snacks, chips and pretzels just to name a few. The staff who work here are also very nice, funny and down to earth. If you find yourself in the area I highly recommend coming in. A must-go for anyone who cares about beer. There are a lot of types of beers organized by region. Dont forget to check the back for regional singles or the front for special, local bottles. You can try some draft in the front, though I've only once gotten one on a visit since no one seemed available. Half Time Beverage is a craft beer specialty store that opened in Poughkeepsie, New York in 2002. It was founded by father and son Alan and Jason Daniels. The two had an idea for a one-stop "beervana" shopping experience for craft beer drinkers. When they first opened, the 9,000-square-foot shop was stocked with 600 of the most exciting and unique beers that they could get their hands on. It wasn't before long when they realized that the demand for good craft beer far exceeded the immediate New York area, so Half Time became pioneers of direct-to-consumer online shipping, sending hard-to-find beers all the way across the country! In 2013, Half Time opened a second 20,000-square-foot location in Mamaroneck and their selection jumped to 5,000 unique brews. Half Time is now widely recognized as an active member of the craft beer community that frequently teams up with well known craft breweries for special releases and festivals. I first visited Half Time's original Poughkeepsie location back in 2010. A good friend of mine lived there at the time and he first introduced me to the shop. Recently, I paid a visit to the Mamaroneck location for the first time and I was blown away by their enormous selection. One thing that I really like about shopping at Half Time is that you're not obligated to purchase a whole 6-pack or case. You can get pick out any single bottles or cans and make your own mixed-packs. They even have a selection of 22 beers on draught for growler fills. In NYC there is City Swiggers. Leave the city and head north to get to Half Time. While I love Swiggers because it's like a bar and you can just sit and hang out, I like Half Time because of the enormous selection of beers. We were at Decadent Ales next door and just had to check this place out. Aisles and aisles stocked with beers you have either heard of or have never heard of. Rare varieties. Tons of local NY breweries and beyond to choose from. Prices can be a bit steep but considering you can track down beers here you can't get elsewhere, it's worth the cost. During quarantine, I have been calling at least once a week with very annoying orders consisting of single cans of many different beers, and they always handle me with patience as I read through my long list, check the inventory for me, and help me make substitutions for things they are out of. Looking at some of the bad reviews has my head scratching. You could do everything right as a business and people will still complain about something. This store is fantastic! They have beer from all over the world, you can build your own 6-pack, you can fill your own bottle from a large menu of craft beers...the pricing is not that bad. The reason other stores may sell it cheaper is because they're in fear of going out of business...but their selections are nowhere close to what Halftime has.
