Hide-A-Way Waterfront Cottages exceeded all of my expectations. This place is the real deal! My…read morefriends and I wanted to go on a little camping trip and bring the dogs. I searched for almost 3 weeks for a place that allowed dogs near Lake George and honestly could not find much which was surprising. I found a few places that allowed dogs but they had so many rules and regulations if wasn't worth the hassle. Then I finally found Hide-A-Way! From the moment I called them to make a reservation it was so easy and everyone I dealt with was SO helpful and friendly. I booked the reservation with Pete. He was amazing. Made the process so simple. I put down a $100 dollar deposit and they give you the option to either pay the remaining balance when you check in or send a check. We decided to just pay the rest when we got there. My friends and I rented the SummerHaven cottage for one night. It was $283 for one night during "off season." That price includes the pet fee as well. (The pet fee is $25 per pet, per night). We had 2 dogs that stayed with us. Honestly, it's not a bad price and it was SO WORTH IT. We checked in with Kelly and she was a doll and sooo easy to get along with! The SummerHaven cottage is SO NICE. When you walk in there is a cute living room with a tv, pull out sofa bed and rocking chair. If you go to the left there's a small room with a bunk bed. The bathroom is huge. There's a full kitchen with a big refrigerator, stove, microwave, Keurig, and dishes. The master bedroom is in the very back of the cottage with a HUGE king size bed and huge windows overlooking the road + lake. When we arrived me grabbed the kayaks (which you have unlimited use of with no extra charge) and headed out on the lake! The lake is a decent size and is pretty clean. We had a blast. After hanging out on the lake all day we went to the pavilion and played ping pong and volleyball!! They also have a jungle gym on the property for young kids. At night we had a huge bonfire (the SummerHaven cottage includes your own personal grill, bonfire pit, outdoor patio set with chairs, and a picnic table). You can also purchase firewood up at the office!! All in all, my friends and I will be making a few more trips up here this summer! We're going to do an annual camping trip here from now on. We had a blast! Thanks for everything Kelly!!!

Heads up not every cabin has a lake view, but why do you want to sit in your cabin all day anyway? Walk for 5 seconds and there's your view! Note: if you're the type that typically "speaks to the manager" over every tiny little thing that doesn't adhere to your standards of modern trappings, go stay at a Hilton. If you don't care that it's not the most up to date place and has a little character, you'll love it.

The…read morekastners is definitely a motel that's worth the 15 minute drive away because it's peaceful , secluded , beautifully simple , and cheap . I stayed with a friend in a small little cottage for about 75. It has the basics , queen bed , TV, bathroom, wifi , and air conditioning. Doesn't seem like much but for what you get the price isn't bad. What's sets this apart is that this motel , like others nearby , is connected to a small lake which gives a fantastic view that makes it worth while . They also include pattleboats and canoes so u can ride on the river and even go fishing . They have basketball courts, table tennis, and even grills outside that makes this feel like it's a small community in which you live . You can go to resorts that have this and pay a couple hundred at least ... But if you want something simple and peaceful , this will give you everything you need and then some, worth every penny!
