Fantastic area to bring the young kids to let them run around and kill some energy while you grab a bite and drink. 100% would come back

I visited Halcyon the other day and at first was very happy to see shops, restaurants outside dining etc.. but with the pandemic rise and no vaccine close , I was horrified at the shops that had signs in the window"we do not wear masks, but you're welcome to wear yours inside". Myself and my husband were the only people wearing masks(no exaggeration) in the courtyard area , which was packed with people and children not at all observing social distancing. There was NO responsible behavior at this shopping area. I will not return until this is over it until I hear this facility takes this serious. read more

The concept is great. Phase 1 is all that is open as of today. We all wait to see how well it is executed. We love the mixed use communities, and especially appreciate that Halcyon is dog friendly. It appears that dogs stay outside , so be sure to have one adult that can go inside the courtyard and get food , or can flag down wait staff , so you can eat on a a patio. We dog lovers appreciate that it's connected to the Greenway. The concept is innovative. It has the feeling of Container park in Las Vegas. as of today , there seem to be two community areas for young children. There is free live music 3-4 nights a week in this area or in the food court if there is inclement weather. Halcyon appears to be smaller than Avalon , the other mixed use community in Alpharetta. That also appeals to us , as Avalon seems to be overcrowded , as of late. read more

Somebody already said it, but this is not a place to go to for adults getting together. I'll start off with the good things... there was a guy playing guitar... more places should have live musicians, so good job there. Also, the coffee place that has beers inside is good too. OK, let's frame it up now...this is my first time ever at Halcyon... and really first time ever doing anything in Cumming. Saturday evening, drove there, parking is a bit strange in layout (tried avoiding the parking garage, but if you do that it ends up spitting you out the exit and you have to u-turn a couple times to get back in, so I advise you just go straight to the parking garage). There are sanitation stations, but nobody uses them and I can count on one hand the number of people that were wearing masks, so if you're all about Covid safety, not a place for you. Met up with a couple of other couples (we're all young 30's), and couldn't get into Cherry Street (which is what everybody talks about... seemed like any standard brewpub, but unfortunately can't tell you more than that), because it was packed inside and out... and a lot of people just standing around outside too. I was disappointed, because I heard the food is actually pretty good there, but didn't get to try anything...no bar is worth that kind of wait. Really all we could do was just grab a table outside of the food court area and sit there for an hour and a half after we put our name in for a restaurant, because there is literally nothing to do except sit there, which is fine if the atmosphere is cool and you just want to hang out, but I was not a fan. We all split off to go get drinks at the 3 or 4 places to get a drink; I like cocktails more than beer, but there isn't anything besides the most standard cocktails... tried friends' beers... again, they were fine, but nothing special to talk about here. I can forgive some of the environment if food and drinks are great, but this is not the case. Went to dinner at Ocean and Acre, and it was just ok. It thinks it's fancier than it is, so it's a bit overpriced, and I get it, these little mini shopping areas are pricey anyways, but the quality just wasn't there. Now we come to why I will not return here... the kids. I don't have kids, but they're fine if you're at a place that caters to families. Looking around Halcyon, there's nothing there that would indicate it's geared towards families. Halcyon is a small outdoor space with a couple of average restaurants and a couple of average bars, but the entire place is just little kids running around, throwing rocks from the flower beds, kicking balls into the middle of other groups, flinging sand from a sandbox (yes, somebody thought it would be awesome to put a small sandbox outside the entrance to a bar),etc., while bored parents sit there hoping their kid doesn't do something too terrible. I'm from the Perimeter area, and I usually don't head up North unless it's to meet friends or family that are up there, but I would rather meet up at Avalon over Halcyon any day of the week. read more

This is a general comment about the restaurants in the marketplace at Halcyon. They must be owned by the developer because they don't seem to be separate restaurants with actual names. I got tacos at the taco place the other day and they were literally taco shells with meat--nothing else, no flavor, and I paid eight dollars. They didn't look anything like the pictures on the kiosk ordering screen, by the way. Go get some fudge at Kilwins and go across the street to Arby's! read more

I had to return an item and the manager refused to accept the return. The item still had the tags on it and was never worn. The salesgirl called the manager on the phone and because the item was no longer in the system they refused to accept the return. It was a summer top and they clearly still had summer items on racks for sale. I had missed the deadline for returning the item as I was out of the country. At the very least take the item and put it on the sale rack whether it is in the system or not and issue a store credit. How about customer service? These stores are a franchise so I think this manager could have made an exception. I have spent thousands of dollars in this store but I will not be coming back. There are plenty of boutiques in the area with better customer service. And when I walk into the store it would be nice to have the salesgirl come to the front register to acknowledge my presence. If you had accepted this item today I may have spent several hundred dollars on clothing. Your loss! read more

Went there today and it was cute and tastefully done. It reminded in me a bit of Ponce City Market vibe with the building art and outdoor spaces. However I was wondering where the rest of it was??? It seems really small even with the retail spaces that are opening soon. I hope they continue building it out cause the current space is not enough to make me want to go again. I was bummed that we didn't know about the Everclear concert yesterday. That would have been good. Cinebistro was kinda average, same as Norcross location. Not impressed with the service though restrooms were clean! I'll keep checking back for special events and such as it's pretty close to us. It's just a meh for me. read more

Reminds me of a mix between Avalon and Ponce city Market! So cute and the atmosphere is amazing, it's especially really nice because it doesn't get too extremely busy since it's so new. Great restaurants and awesome boutiques. read more

The Center footprint is small compared to other shopping centers in the area although it is unique within itself. My short visit for lunch in The Market Hall food court was with Gu's Dumplings, the food was very good but asked for water and was directed to the other end of the building near the restrooms to get my water from public water fountains? You will do some walking at Halcyon as they charge for parking in a multiple level garage and there is hardly any parking on the small streets, that parking is reserved for the small retail shops. Will wait till fully open before another trial visit. For us it had a cold industrial feel! read more

Although this area is still not 100% up and running, it's nothing but a tiny outdoor shopping mall attempting to be fancy with $5 popsicles and a Mercedes "store/dealership", with a few other boutique places that aren't open yet. It's overshadowed by what's to be an apartment building and a parking structure. There's an indoor area with various food options - basically a mall food court. The outdoor grassy area has live music, which is pretty nice to enjoy - however whoever thought to put gravel just outside of one of the restaurants needs to rethink that decision as the majority of it ends up on the floor inside the bar of the restaurant. Maybe once the rest of the businesses are up and running, this place may have more appeal, but for now - I'll pass. It cannot be compared to Avalon AT ALL. read more

I have been to Halcyon several times and am excited to see new vendors opening soon. My son (who is 4) loves it here and not just because of Pop-Bar (the treat shop that lets you dip your Popsicle in chocolate and candy). He has been able to play on the green space, make arts and crafts and pet various animals all while the adults sipped a brew from Cherry Street and played along. The combo of shopping and dining may cause you to think of Avalon, but I assure you this has a much different feel. First off, there are trails leading to the complex and you will see people on bikes and in casual clothes. While you can dress up for a nice dinner, you can also visit the Market Hall which has delicious food, but is set up more food court style. The shops are different too, they aren't all the big brand names you will find at other centers, instead you will find many local boutiques and several fitness stores. I personally think the more relaxed fell was needed in this area. The one pain, which I think will improve, is the congestion getting in and out of the parking deck. As things are new and still opening, the lanes are blocked with cones and tight. There is plenty of parking, just a tight way in and out of the area. I am sure that will be resolved soon. read more

Had a really great time at the soft opening - the green space is great for grabbing a drink and kicking back. Our little loved playing with other kids with the blocks and big connect four games. Ate dinner at Cherry Street and the food was fantastic. Can't wait to see all the shops open up. This is a great addition to the Alpharetta & Forsyth Communities. Halcyon is mixed-use development in Forsyth County located right off Exit 12 on GA 400. I have been to Halcyon a handful of times and every time I visit there is something new that has opened or a new "coming soon" sign that has been put out. Never Enough Thyme is finally open and Cattle Shed Wine Company, Salata Salad Kitchen, HobNob, Frenchie's Royal House of Frites and Meats, and Holmes Slice are all coming soon! Halcyon is centered around the Market Food Hall and "The Green." There are plenty of options for outdoor and indoor seating. The atmosphere is chill with a laid back vibe. It is also conveniently located next to one of the Big Creek Greenway trailheads. It is a place that is bike, kid, and dog friendly. Here you can get booze, food, retail, sweets, and coffee. On different days of the week, they offer live music, kid's workshops, exercise classes, and a puppy happy hour. Parking is available in a parking lot and a parking garage. Whether you are coming to eat, drink, exercise, or just relax, Halcyon is spot that you should definitely check out and explore OTP. read more

There isn't a separate place for reviewing the CINEX movie theater so I'm doing it here. Incredibly, the seats shown online when reserving movie tickets do NOT correspond with the actual seats in the theater. This place has been open for weeks and for some reason the people working at the theater seem surprised about what I was telling them. Couple next to us we're surprised too that the seats didn't match up. Also, bought the tickets online but then didn't receive any electronic confirmation. So had to go to the actual theater earlier in the day to get confirmation of our seats. read more

Went on a date night with my fiancé here tonight. It's a great atmosphere and the theatre chairs are comfy with a big screen to enjoy the movie. However, I am going to have to give the food a 0 star rating. It was AWFUL. I got the shrimp Mac and cheese and it had absolutely NO Taste. There was no cheese. Just noodles and shrimp. My fiancé got the short rib and the portion size was tiny, and very salty. We ordered an appetizer and got it after our food had arrived, only after having to ask 4-5 different waiters where it was. It was not good at all. And neither of us are picky eaters. We had a couple of drinks at the bar and those were good. Overall, if you are visiting the cinebistro for the dining experience, DONT. The food. Is. Awful. read more

April 26 2020 it was great to go to Halcyon and see people sitting around having a drink and enjoying the beautiful day. This was a sight for sore eyes after seeing a lot of shut down and discouraging people enjoying bars and restaurants due to social distancing. This was a breath of fresh air. Egh...that is the verbal expression I have after my first visit to Halcyon. Very confusion driving in as you get wrapped through and around a lot of active construction. Went to the food court to have lunch with my husband. I went for the gyro sandwich at Pita and he got in line for the dumplings place Gu. Not very crowded yet we both waited for our food like it was (10+ minutes). The real kicker was the air was BLASTING on the tables. Blowing things off the table like napkins, receipts and even a plastic cup. This means our food got cold fast! Toasted coconut ice cream at Kilwins redeemed the experience. Seems that Halcyon opened way too early in our opinion. Would have made a much bigger and better impression if everything was open and no construction. read more
