They were out of fresh trout from the pond and also had no back-up. My youngest wasn't really hungry and they claimed not to have any more of the small servings of Knödel as advertised on the menu. Austrian cook out of knödel? Bullshit. Drinks, also for kids, come in only one size. EUR3.50 for a coke..... that adds up with several kids. Schnitzel, while not from the freezer as one German reviewer claims, was OK but nothing spectacular. That being said it came in one Euro higher on the final bill than as advertised on the menu. Things like that really, really bug me. Service was, as some German reviewers mentioned, not particularly friedly or fast. Long story short, nice location, decent, if unspectacular food, slow and unfriendly service. Could go back... or also not.

When it arrived we explained to the waitress that we each had ordered a fondue to be told that they only had two fondue pots and all the people who wanted cheese fondue had to sit at one table and those who wanted meat had to sit at another table. With the cheese fondue, we only received bread in a small basket to dip. the fondue bowl was small and had to be shared between 9 people each of us paying 24,90 euro. At each table, those who ordered either a cheese or meat fondue went without because they were at the wrong table. During the meal, we asked if we could switch the pots so that those at each table who ordered something else could get their order. It took awhile for the staff to assist us to do this. We also complained that there was something off with the wine and cheese in the fondue. At the end of the meal, those who did not get a meal asked to speak to the owner because they felt they should not pay 24,90 euro for a meal they did not receive only to be threatened by the owner that he would call the polizei if they did not pay. After a long back and forth conversation, he explained to us that he did not need our business. Although the scenery was beautiful and that is why I am willing to give it one star, I could have gone and hiked the surrounding area for free however.

Stumbled in here by chance. Location alone would be five stars...located in absolutely charming…read moresquare in old part of city. Lucked out to be here in spargel season; whole page of spargel delights available but I got the basic- spargel soup...heavenly. Being some months out of Germany got weiner schnitzel for entree - very nice crispy coating and flavor. Service prompt and spoke enough English for us to get by. Credit card machine on the blink.
