When I go out to eat, I don't expect the waitress to sit down and eat with me, so I'm not sure why a hairstylist would think it's acceptable to work on their own hair when a client shows up. She eventually came over, dyed my roots, left again, and finally returned to wash my hair. When I asked for shoulder-length hair, she seemed surprised, even though my hair was well below my shoulders. It wasn't extremely long, but it was certainly long enough for a simple shoulder-length cut. Instead, I ended up with a bob. I'm not sure if she misunderstood what shoulder length means or if she thought my chin was my shoulder. I could see the panic in her eyes when she realized the mistake and offered to thin out my hair, but there was no way I was letting her cut anything else. Yes, hair grows back, but I had already mentioned that I had a wedding in two days. I was left trying to figure out how to style hair that's much shorter than what I asked for. I could have voiced my complete dissatisfaction, but honestly, it doesn't matter--they've lost a customer.
