I've been going to Vanessa for almost a decade. Her cuts are precise and exactly the style I ask for. I usually show her a photo of what I want for my hair and she makes it happen. She takes her time and is very detailed to make sure the cut and style is to your liking. She is hard working and humble. More, she is a truly good person. When I had cancer, she cut my long hair so I can save it to make a wig. She then cut and styled my wig after it was made. She did all of this free of charge because she cares for her clients. There aren't very many people like Vanessa, who take pride and care in her work and who care about customers genuinely. I cannot recommend her enough. You won't be disappointed. read more

Vanessa is easily the best hair stylist I've ever been to. She was patient when I told her about all my hair concerns and gave me good insight into what she thought would work best. I came in with a picture of a specific style of bangs I wanted, and she was able to not only execute it exactly, but better! She also gave me tips on how to style them at home. Since my haircut, I've received tons of compliments and have felt great about how I look. Her prices are super fair for the talent and skill you're getting. The overall experience was pleasant and felt very safe. She has her own private salon, which is nice on its own, but especially great in times of COVID. She wore a mask the entire time, took my temperature before I entered the building, had hand sanitizer available, and had contactless payment. I'm so glad I didn't give myself a quarantine haircut and went to Vanessa instead! read more

Vanessa knew precisely what I wanted to update my look. She examined my hair, length, and listened to my vision. After sheltering in place my hair was a long, hot mess. I was so grateful to Vanessa for making me feel like a human again! My hair: I went in with over 12 inches of hair and decided to rock my first pixie cut. I was super nervous, but Vanessa was so encouraging throughout the entire process. I have a round face and was scared that short hair would make my face look too full, but she cut it in a way that was flattering! AH, she's so talented, and I'll definitely be back. My safety: Because these are unprecedented times, I was extra grateful for the precautions that she took before cutting my hair. She checked my temperature, had her mask on the whole time, and had hand sanitizer ready for me! I felt very safe, and also very grateful for her thoughtfulness about safety. Also! Just one more note, it was lovely to chat with her throughout the process. She's just so down to earth and a great listener and all around wonderful person. TLDR; Go to Vanessa because she's amazing! read more

Thank you Vanessa for giving me an amazing haircut. She not only fulfilled but exceeded my expectations by showcasing her artistic talents with my women's haircut. She fixed my undercut and cleaned it up better than anyone else. She was no rush and made it clear that I was her priority. Her salon was quiet and relaxing, just how a salon should be. Overall, a quality experience that I recommend to everyone. read more

I'm following this talented lady anywhere! I found Vanessa about a year ago and have truly enjoyed each visit with her. The biggest thing that stood out to me right away is that she did a real consultation and helped me articulate the style I wanted before she even picked up the scissors. She's thoughtful, artistic, and has great creative energy! You can tell she really wants to help her clients feel amazing about themselves. On my visit last week, I got to experience her new salon studio! It's updated, modern, and offers a nice private feel without being closed off. Each stylist has their own suite, so you get great one-on-one time and personalized attention. Lots of parking and a convenient location. This time, I had her cut several inches off, and she gave my poufy, weirdly frizzy hair a beautiful shape. Even once I wash and dry my hair myself, I can see how the cut she did gives shape, style, and volume. Love it! I can't recommend Vanessa enough. She's the best! read more

So glad that I found Vanessa. She is everything that the reviews say and more. Super diligent attentive and communicative about what you want and what the outcome will be. Blogs I read, written by men with trendy beards and flannel, told me about the revival of old school barbershops, and how I should get my cuts there. And so I did, frequenting the most highly rated in the area for the last few years. While many were great, they could never quite get my (very straight and stiff) Asian hair consistently right. I've been with Vanessa for over a year now, and couldn't be happier. Her attention to detail and perfectionist attitude is unmatched. I always appreciate her energy and up-beat attitude. She's able to achieve perfect natural looking fades sans clippers, opting for high precision scissors instead. I didn't appreciate this distinction before but it allows the stylist to add more detail and texture, and ultimately works better for my hair. Extremely excited when I found out that she was opening up her own studio, and of course, followed her there. read more

I've been going to Vanessa for several years. She's just the best. Period. She's great with my think wavy hair, and she is patient and listens to what I want even when I haven't quite figured that out entirely. Her haircuts are the best I have ever had. read more

Vanessa is amazing. I always leave feeling and looking great. Between having a fun conversation while I'm there and her talent for a great cut and highlights she always knows how to make me look good. The scalp massage during the shampoo is something I look forward to each visit! I also take my 6 year old daughter to see her too- a little "girl time" for us and she gives such a good cut compared to a lot of kid cut type places. I don't feel rushed ever, and she takes the time to understand what I need. I also appreciate her covid precautions and feel she really takes the pandemic seriously. read more

Vanessa is amazing! I'm really picky with who cuts my hair and I make it a point to see her when I'm home from New Orleans. She's nice and easy to talk to. Vanessa is awesome! I've been apprehensive about finding a new hair stylist and I'm so glad I found her. Check out her Instagram for some pictures of her work. I have followed Vanessa for almost two years when she was still at Umbrella Salon. She is super nice and good at what she does. She is one of the stylists that I know who has great patience and care about every single detail. The other thing I like about Vanessa is the consistency as she remember exactly how you like you hair done as last time. You just need to sit tight and make yourself comfortable cause you know you are in good hands. She recently start her own studio and it is one to one service. I really liked her new place as it gives more privacy with no fights for the stations during rush hours. There is also a Starbucks in the same building which is a plus!!! read more

Vanessa is truly a thoughtful and talented hair stylist! I had my hair cut, color-treated and styled during my appointment with her back in August and my hair is still vibrant! Vanessa does a great job cutting my hair, as she has been for over a year now - maybe two? She has a lot of experience and training in many techniques. We originally met when she fixed a bad haircut I got at another salon - I liked the repair job so much that I've been going to her ever since. She is helpful at making suggestions but also manages to do what I ask for... it is difficult to find a stylist who can balance this. She's recommended a great product to keep the frizz out of my hair as well. Finally, she is just a pleasant person to spend time with, so no awkwardness there! Her new studio is really great - comfortable and clean with a nice ambiance. read more

I got my fabulous cut and beautiful highlights from Vanessa at "Kami Kami by Vanessa Ramos". A trendy new location with a touch of retro - VERY COOL & CLASSY! Vanessa turned me away from using hair dye out of box that made my hair dry and the color eventually turned what I call brassy orange (not a great look) --- now my hair is soft, beautiful and have highlights that looks like the sun naturally lightened it. Vanessa listens to what I want and makes suggestions that best suit my natural hair color, skin tone and the shape of my face. MY HAIR ALWAYS COMES OUT PERFECT!! Thank you Vanessa for my amazing hair! read more
