I am Sooo disappointed, I called them asking for a good hairdresser because my daughter was looking for a specific hair cut, they said they have a hairdresser who can do it. My daughter asked to cut ONE inch of but Kerry - the hairdresser cut like 10 inches, she did whatever she wanted whit her hair. My daughter had really long hair, below the belt and, after the haircut she has now shoulder length. My daughter is devastated, and the hairdresser said at the end ,, Oh you finally have a nice haircut''. I am disappointed because she did not listen, and did not do what she was asked to do and secondly because I called and asked if they know how to do it but they scheduled us the worst hairdresser they have. He gets to know his clients and makes suggestions appropriately. Open and honest and can make any bad day better with a quick visit at his styling station. I walked in yesterday {no appointment} 6/14/16 @ 5:30 looking for a hair makeover, I hadn't had one in many many years. I met the owner Bob, he took me in at the end of his day, making my day much better. He was very accommodating. I told him to do what he thinks will look good on me {because he IS the expert} and that's why my hair looks amazing and ...... Our normal hair salon is closed on Monday's and my daughter really needed her hair done for some photos. I called Hair Stage Five and they were able to accommodate me within the hours that I had requested. My daughter is a chatty (almost) 9 year old and the young hair dresser happily conversed with her throughout her appointment and her hair came out great! I was also really happily surprised at the cost for her hair cut. It was definitely affordable. My daughter genuinely enjoyed her experience there, so we'll likely go there again for her cuts. I've been going here since maybe 2001 and have always been happy with the service. Recently I decided to try something different and wanted to go for ombre, which in Los Angeles (where I lived until last year), I was quoted at a minimum of $250 because my hair is thick and fairly long. So I decided to finally give it a shot here. My first color was with Erika about a month ago and although it was a time consuming process, she did a fantastic job with blending throughout my hair. Since this was the first round it didn't come out very light and even had an orange tone. She recommended purple shampoo and it helped so much! It takes out all of the brassiness. Then I went last Saturday for a second round (I was unfortunately not available to see Erika on Sundays anymore) and was highly disappointed. My hair had spots of blonde and the blending was terrible. I called the next day and was asked if I wanted to book an appointment with the same person, but I certainly wasn't willing to go back to her. She was nice, but seemed rushed (busy day on Saturdays) and her two kids were sitting at her booth, which I'm sure was a distraction. Monday Bob (owner) called me apologizing and scheduled me to come in on Tuesday so that he could personally fix it. He was running behind about 30 minutes, which I didn't mind because he was staying late to fix my hair. If you've been to Hair Stage 5, you know who Bob is. Everyone loves him and he has such a great personality, along with every stylist there. I gave 5 stars, even with being disappointed the other day because shit happens. He resolved the issue and I love my hair. I would highly recommend this salon to anyone, but if you're doing something slightly out of the ordinary, just make sure to ask if that stylist has done that before. :) read more

Not sure what happened. Son got haircut there a couple months ago and was very happy with it. Went back for a pompadour style and she took off too much from the back of the top of the head so it just didn't go right, not full enough. The front hair was much longer, twice as long. Went to barber afterwards and he was surprised at how uneven hair was on top. I feel if this wasn't a style she could do without cutting a ton of hair off she should have decided doing it. I've been to a few stylists here, and I usually stick with either Christine or Kerri because they do a fantastic job, every time! But, when they're busy or off, I've gone to other girls and have not been disappointed. The prices are super great, too! Although, I will deduct one star because it's not the cleanest place around. The decor is gaudy and looks cheap. And they don't seem to clean and dust or wipe up grime very often... sitting there while getting a haircut, you tend to notice these things. I will likely still return, but there's definitely room for improvement there! read more

I went to Hair Stage Five for the first time today amazed by how friendly and accomodating the staff is. I made a last-minute appointment and ended up arriving 10 minutes late from a traffic delay and they did not bat an eyelash. Dianne X took great care of my hair and made me feel very relaxed. With little consultation (I gave her practically free reign) she took into consideration my busy schedule and gave me a very sexy look that would require very little maintenance. Much appreciated. However, I cannot give this salon five stars for one reason. I was very disappointed with the effect the products had on my hair. Don't get me wrong, it has nothing to do with Dianne or the quality of the haircut, but I left there feeling like my hair hadn't been washed in weeks. It was kind of ratty, course, and it was very heavy (and greasy). When she was washing my hair I commented on the pleasant smell of the shampoo, and she called it Big Sexy. It smelled very good, but its the first time I ever left a salon without the feeling that my hair was touched by angels. I couldn't even run my fingers through it - and that was never a problem before. What's worse, I think it honestly looked worse than it did when I walked in because of the texture it gave my hair. It's dispointing becuase even though I liked the stylist, I'm not sure if I can return to a salon that uses products in my hair that has that effect on me. I'll have to call and see if there is an alternative next time I make an appointment. All in all though, I would definately recommend Hair Stage Five to anyone who is not as picky as I apparently am about hair products. read more

I would not recommend this salon at all. The owner had me wait in a salon chair with a wet head fro 45 minutes and was not busy with any other clents. Actually, I could hear him conversing with his stylists. It was a very cold day, otherwise I would have walked out. Needless to say, I never went back. read more

I'm sad to write this review. I have had my hair cut at this salon ONLY since 2007. Excellent prices, excellent haircuts. The owner is hilarious, the staff are friendly and good at what they do. Why such a lousy review? Over the past few times I have gone to Hair Stage 5 for a hair cut, I have been increasingly disappointed in the customer service. Customer service will make or break a place for me. There are a couple of very large signs that boast Walks Ins Welcome. Since I am not from the area, I have stopped in when in the area to get a hair cut and have been turned away more often than not. Walk In does not mean come back in two hours... or make an appointment for tomorrow. It means Walk In and you will get a hair cut if you want to pay for one. I'd be willing to wait a little while, sure! This is not a service that this salon has been able to provide, in my experience. Today, I walked in and waited approximately 15 minutes-- no one was at the counter. It looks like there is some remodeling going on-- the business check book was just hanging out on a table in a pile of trash, hair supplies and paperwork. Good thing I'm not a thief. Finally someone came out and told me I could come back in about 2 hours for a hair cut or come back tomorrow. I think I'm done with the place which makes me sad. I've made appointments in the past that weren't really honored because so many people were booked at the same time--it's a no win situation. Like I said, it's not the quality of the work or the friendliness of the place. I really wish that Tabitha Salon Takeover could make the place and the business part of the salon over, into what it could really be. I'd be willing to pay a little more money for better customer service and a cleaner salon. read more

She listened but also was able to recommend what would be best for my thick hair... I could tell that she is well experienced and knows how to cut hair.
