Price is reasonable (about ~$100) for long hair. Ask for Young Kim, she is fabulous! I always see her and I have been coming here for over 2 years. They are also personable and genuinely nice. I had some unfortunate coloring/highlight from a year before and she blended it and cut it really nicely. 4. She's a color mixing genius and she really understands how to handle tough brassy Asian hair that can require a ton of lightening. Ms. Young did a fantastic job cutting my boyfriend's long hair (almost a man bun). It was a multi step process: she did a cut with dry hair, washed it and cut it wet, and then blow dried it and did a final touch up cut. This was the most comprehensive men's haircut I've ever seen, which just shows how skilled she is! We brought in several photos (Bradley Cooper long layered hair look) and she did a great job copying the look. She checked in throughout the process and was open to feedback as she went. It felt like a collaborative process which we really appreciated. If you're looking for a men's styled haircut with layers, I can't recommend Ms. Young enough! I do NOT recommend Young for men's cuts. My husband usually goes to Jessica but the last two times he's made appointments with her, Young shows up to cut his hair instead. This time around, she cut a gaping hole into my husband's hair. There was literally a hole on the side of his head. I'm not sure if she wasn't paying attention or if she just has no idea how to cut men's hair. She clearly did not consider the direction of natural hair growth/ hair lines. Now, it's even worse as it's growing out and he is dealing with hair growth that sticks straight out. I'm adding photos but be aware- it looks much worse in person. This place is my God-send. I had been looking for a hair stylist who could simply do what I asked for and in the last 4 years of living in nova, I had never had an experience where I was really truly happy with the end result. Young is amazingly talented, and everyone else at the salon is super nice and friendly! I have really thick hair and usually keep it long, but I wanted to do something drastic: go for an asymmetrical bob (one side longer than the other). I was nervous to do something so dramatic at a place I had never been to, but I trusted the other bob pics I saw, and I'm so glad I did. Let me just say: I LOVE HER AND I'M NEVER GOING ANYWHERE ELSE EVER. I recommend her to everyone I talk to. I showed her a couple of pics of what I wanted, she took a picture on her own phone, and kept it front of us against the mirror the whole time to reference. Definitely a pleasant experience and the staff were very accommodating. I was extremely late to my appointment, but even then, there was no hesitation to seat and cut my hair. Jessica did my hair, and it's been about 3 days now. Overall, I am satisfied with my hair, probably the best version of two block cut I've had in the states. It is important to note that it's definitely more pricey here than I'm used to, at a base of $30 for a men's cut - I'm used to paying $20 or $25 with tip. I was in need of an updo for a formal wedding and was looking for something more reasonably priced in NoVa. I called and was set up with Young, who was extremely pleasant and enthusiastic on the phone. She had no problem getting me an early appointment and even texted me her phone number so I could send her pictures of what my hair looked like and what ideas I had. When it came to the day of the appointment, I got a warm greeting from her and the rest of the shop and we got to work. She performed magic on my hair and went above and beyond. Updated review After I left my review. Young reaches out and ask if I could come in so she can make it right. Due to my experience I don't feel comfortable coming back. I thought I came here to trust on someone 's experience to help me look good. I told her what style of hair I want. And she asked if I want layers , or no layers and add texture. The only reason I know what to answer her because I traveled and lived in big cities. I heard some of my hair stylist told me one or two of these. Otherwise I wouldn't have any glue. She chop my hair pretty fast. Not cut. Cause I see many hair stylist did before. They cut fast but they look where needed to cut. Not like young. She cut whatever her scissor was near. I could tell by my eyes that she cut some place more and other place less. That is why my hair pretty uneven . Very choppy. My heart sink when I saw that. I already know my hair would suffer and I would never return here. But I'm always kinda playing nice. Even in my heard I wanted to cry for my hair cause it was ugly. But I try to be diplomatic about the whole thing. Just tell myself I won't return here ever again. If you are someone want a smooth and nice hair cut. I would suggest to stay away. I have been wanting to get a digital perm for about three years. So, I went into a salon in downtown DC and asked them if they'd perm my hair. The stylist told me he'd rather color it because it's faster and makes him more money. No thanks!! On recommendation through the Korean (American) grapevine, I took the bus to Annandale and let Young curl me up. Perming hair is no joke, but Young knows exactly what she's doing. She's clearly an expert (read: hair scientist/artist). Highly recommended! I will never let anyone else touch my hair in DC. read more

AMAZING! Let me start off by saying that I have quite damaged hair after about 4 years of getting Japanese straight perms and using heat everyday. I was nervous to even think about getting a perm because I was afraid of more damage. At Hair Mode they were extremely careful around damaged areas of my hair, and meticulously worked to give me EXACTLY what I wanted and to prevent any further damage from occurring. The end result is exactly what I asked for and they were all very communicative with me throughout my time there. I highly recommend them for any of your hair care needs and they give AMAZING perms. They all have quite a bit of experience and knowledge regarding perms, and make sure to explain exactly what is happening when you get a perm.
