After searching online for salons specializing in "curly cuts," I stumbled upon Nina and Ntrigue Salon. I am SO GLAD I did. I had my first visit this morning, and my hair looks fabulous! The salon is bright, clean, and welcoming. I immediately felt like I had walked into a room full of girlfriends instead of strangers. Mercades invited me in and shampooed my hair, and then Nina began my Ouidad cut. Nina was gracious and happy to share information on how to care for/style my hair; she obviously loves what she does, and she does it well. I thought the price for my wash, cut, and dry was reasonable, and I pre-booked my next appointment. If you are a curly girl (or guy), do not hesitate to make an appointment!

I sent her a photo of my unsatisfactory result and she immediately acknowledged the problem rather than trying to dodge the issue. Client satisfaction seems to matter to her, both as a salon owner and a stylist. Of course it would have been better to have my highlights done correctly the first time and it was a waste of time to have to book another appointment, but Faryn impressed me with her knowledgeable expertise and professionalism.

She not only did all of that in a very timely fashion, but was able to volumize my fine and straight hair. At many other salons I've been to, I go home to find that my hair was not evenly cut and is lopsided. Brittany did many checks to make sure the length was just right and proportionate. I had been to her once before, and how my hair got styled was a shitshow, but the cut was good. This time she spent a good ten minutes listening to what I wanted...very specific details, including a photo. She then proceeded to hack off a good 10 inches, before going to the shampoo bowl. NOT what we had discussed at all...did a completely different haircut. I think I was in such shock from her chopping all my length off that I couldn't even answer when she said " I hope you like your haircut!" when I was leaving - I didn't say a word and left. To frost the cake, my boyfriend got a haircut this week, and she asked how I was liking mine...he said, "She doesn't." To which she responded, "She's been wearing her hair like that for a long time - it was time for a change!" Perhaps if you are that rare breed that walks into a salon and tells them to do whatever they want, then Terry is your girl...otherwise, you might have a few years of hair growing ahead of you, to get back what she felt like she had the prerogative to take on her own whim.

This was my second time getting my hair done at this salon and it was the worst experience. I…read morearrived 9 minutes late to my appointment and had called beforehand to let Carla know, and during the call she had stated that she might not have the time to straighten my hair and do a trim and ended the call saying "we'll see". I had assumed that she was referring to the trim; I had already washed my hair prior to the appointment, which is why I was late because I learned from my first experience that my scalp was filthy after I arrived home. When I arrived I disclosed the fact that I had already washed my hair so to make up for lost time I told her to just apply conditioner and detangle. She applied the conditioner, but did not detangle my hair. When I got on the chair she told me that she only had time to trim my hair but not straighten, which made absolutely no sense since all that she could've accomplished in 9 minutes was the trim. She then told me that if I was not okay with that then I could reschedule. I then convinced her to just blow dry my hair and skip the styling and trim since I had driven an hour to come to her. She agreed, but decided to not apply any product onto my hair because that would require her to detangle my hair which she said she did not have the time for since she had a 2:00 PM appointment and my appointment was booked for 1:00 PM. So, she ended up doing the bare minimum and blow dried 75% of my hair. At that point I was already fed up. Her male stylist had a cancellation and kindly offered to finish up my service at 1:50PM since her next client was going to arrive. She was not even done with blow drying my hair, but she somehow thought that an hour time frame would have sufficed and said that it was my fault that she could not complete even 50% of the service. He ended up blow drying the section she did not finish and straightened and trimmed my hair. Carla was very rude and acted as if I was late by 30 minutes to the appointment. I was then charged full price for the appointment when she did not even wash, detangle or apply product to my hair. She has poor time management because you can't limit clients to one hour especially when I have very thick afro curly hair, which I know was the issue for her because she kept trying to find reasons to not style my hair. Clearly she does not service many clients with my hair type.

I…read morespoke to Barbara over the phone and we discussed her needs and wants and sent her a picture of my mother and when we went for a consultation, she was knowledgeable, patient and picked similar wigs for her taste, she also measured her head and tried to give her the easiest ways to clip and tricks to put on a wig, she helped with the style and the coloring which matched her years. It took a week to come in and then Pasquale did his magic, trimming and styling and showing her the techniques for securing her wig. It was awesome, it gave my mother 40 years back and to my family that is priceless!!!! I truly recommend this little modest shop in Worcester their expertise and professionalism is exceptional....well done!
