I've spoken to the spa about this. if you work in the beauty industry, it is perhaps best not to negatively comment on someone's appearance, saying "at least, I don't have that." That's possibly the one of the most unprofessional thing you could do in that kind of environment. It's like if I worked at a weight watchers and went "at least I'm not fat." It was pretty funny because it was absurd how rude and tactless this woman was.... even funnier was that i tipped her, because of some irrational guilt you feel when you get mad at someone for their bad service so you overcompensate for that. she definitely didn't deserve that tip but i guess it's the whole canadian mentality behind tipping...everyone tips here, it's expected. sigh. I'll go back because generally the staff are nice and pleasant but she was just a bad apple. the manager was super nice and empathetic about the situation. Extremely professional and promised to help me out herself the next time. Upon second thought, I'll give the spa an extra star just for that. Give the spa a try...it's generally a great place to go.

I have been going to this salon for blow drys for many years. I have never had an experience like…read moreI had this week. I had a wedding on Sunday. I made an appointment for myself and daughter on Sunday at 2:15 p.m. On Thursday I received a call to find out if we could come at 2 on Sunday instead of at 2:15 and I was happy to make that change. At 2:05 on Saturday I received a call to find out where we were. I explained that we were coming on Sunday not today. The girl who called said it was in the computer for the Saturday not Sunday. I explained that the appointments were made for Sunday and that the time was changed but I had no intention of ever coming in on the Saturday before the event. I asked whether there were appointments on Sunday at 2 available and told yes but I would still have to pay in full for the amount for the missed appointments. Not sure how two appointments were made for a Sunday were suddenly made into Saturday appointments but they were and I was charged for the missed appointments. Super business...they aren't the only game in town and we got terrific blow drys elsewhere and none of us will EVER return to Blo. I tried to call management to discuss this issue, left a message and was promised that I would receive a call back on Tuesday...guess that they don't care because I haven't heard back. Shame. At least their competition were happy to accommodate the both of us and we will be using their services from now on.
