I stopped going to Parks Salon about a year and a half ago and wanted to update my Yelp review. I…read moreloved the services offered by the esthetician Shelley, but was not happy with the salon. After years of going to the salon to for facials and waxings along with product purchases and jewelery I decided to get my hair cut and colored at Parks. I would think they'd treat their loyal customers a bit better but I was given a $275+ haircut/color (which included a coupon discount!), and then was pushed $150 worth of products. The owner knew I was shocked and not happy. I told her I take responsibility for not asking the price of a cut and color in advance, but usually its between $120 - 175 or so at other places and that's fine. But all over the SCV, I've never paid close to $300! She apologized and said she'd call me later that week for an event where they're offering special clients a deep conditioning treatment and blow out. I never got the call, and I never came back. I could have gotten over the $300 haircut and color - whatever, that's kinda my bad. I should have asked for a breakdown of all the costs in advance. And prepared myself financially by taking a 2nd out on my house. But the fact that they tried to offer a gesture of goodwill and never followed up on it? Done. Not a fan. At all.

Her studio is located inside Salon Republic in Valencia. Ample parking and super easy to find. Because of Covid there are a couple instructions that we clients have to follow. Example we cannot just enter the salon, we have to text our stylist to allow us entry. Which is ok with me to protect the health and safety of everyone. Teri is super nice and very easy to talk to. When I met her and started talking to her it felt like I've known her forever. I came in for a cut. Teri first looked at my hair and examined it first. Asked what I wanted done then proceeded to wash my hair. During my cut she continuously asked questions about my hair. Which I liked. I felt like she was really trying to get to know my hair. What I love is her philosophy in styling, she said that it's teamwork... how we (client and stylist) have to work together to achieve our goal with the client's hair **high five** I loved my cut. I got EXACTLY what I wanted. Teri is such a hidden gem. Before I left I booked an appointment for color. I'm super excited and looking forward to my next appointment. Cheers!!

I've never had an issue with a person cutting my hair before. I'm pretty straightforward. I don't get anything crazy, just a few layers. No color or anything. The first time I got my hair cut here the left side of my hair was significantly shorter than the other. It was embarrassing and very noticeable. I grew out my hair for a few months.
