She responded in a rude way saying idk if I'll be done by then, after she had given me a time frame & then completely ignored us. I understand if the service was free but I was going to pay to get his haircut & yet TIP but she Didn't care to lose customers by the way she acts. So unprofessional, I will never be returning here.

A friend recommended this place, and when she said $13 for basic cuts, I could not believe the…read moreprice so I was a bit hesitant. I'm Asian, and had been making the trip to San Gabriel Valley to my stylist as I think it's hard to find stylists who know how to handle thick heavy Asian hair. But it was getting harder to make those trips and I was letting way too much time go between cuts. Sylvia (not the owner, who I think is Fatima?) did listen specifically to what I asked and cut my hair evenly and it felt smooth and blended. I only asked for more basic trim, since this was my first time here and I was still little apprehensive. I was concerned if language communication might be an issue, but she understands English well enough and asked questions to confirm what I wanted. We did not chit chat but that's fine with me. I feel confident coming to Sylvia for maintenance. She was thorough and re-checked the layers to make sure it was well blended. If I was changing my hair with a new trendier style, I may try somewhere else, but for my needs, she's great. It's a very basic no-frills place but clean enough. I'm coming for the value of a good maintenance cut, not for a relaxing spa experience. It's walk-in only, so a tip: if you come on Sat/ Sun. come before lunch time (10-ish) to beat all the kids and families that will come making it very crowded. If you can come on a weekday, even better. Sylvia seems to open the place, and Fatima works later afternoons. There is also a gentleman barber who usually does all the male cuts. But I think you could request anyone.
