I booked a trial hair appointment with Marc and sat in his chair, armed with a few pinterest ideas that I had tagged earlier on. Marc listened to my ideas and created a fantastic up-do that was everything I wanted. He perfected the style during a second trial and I knew I had to have him and his assistant Courtney for my big day!! They arrived bang on time with a plethora of hair gadgets and started working on my four bridesmaids, mother and mother in law. It was a fun filled Gaga infused morning that helped shape for the way for an unforgettable day. Everyone loved Marc & Courtney and they created fantastic hairstyles that showcased the individual styles of all the women. I knew we were in safe hands and cannot thank the both of them enough for their hard work, patience and tremendous talent. I felt like a beautiful bride and would recommend Marc Rolleri and the Blew Salon to every bride or woman looking for a fantastic stylist. Based on reviews, I actually wanted Marc to cut my hair but he wasn't taking new clients, instead he set me up with Christine. I have long fine (yet full) wavy hair to my middle/lower back. I am very specific how I like my bangs cut, and always show pictures. I was also careful to explain how I didn't like too much cut, I always keep my hair long with a few very long layers for movement. The trim was fine, but the bangs weren't really how I wanted them, so I went back 2 weeks later for an adjustment. They weren't perfect but better. Fast forward 2 weeks ago, I go for another trim (an inch) the long layers dusted so I would have more volume and a bang trim/shape, again with a picture or 2 (of the Instagram influencer whose bangs I love). They looked ok yet again not what I asked for when I left. I went back AGAIN to have them adjusted again showing the same pictures. When I washed my hair 2 days later I realized what a horrible CHOP JOB Christine did-the sides are now completely uneven, worst of all not only my bangs but the side of my head by my EARS!!-those pieces were long (middle of my neck at least) and blended in from bangs on down when I walked in. NOW I HAVE TUFTS OF HAIR THAT STICK OUT ON THE SIDES AND THERE IS NO WAY TO FIX THIS FOR MONTHS UNTIL I GROW THEM OUT!!! Thanks Christine for the ridiculous side burns I now have wearing a baseball cap, or any hat Fall into Winter! Great look. A master stylist with "years of experience"?? I was really upset the last few days, now I'm livid. Thank heavens I hadn't make an appointment to have my color done like I enquired on my last hair appointment, I'd probably leave looking like a zebra. Its a shame, because while she is super nice, the salon is cozy & 10 minutes from my house, I am paying for a service, and its the service/cut that falls way short. I had been looking for a treatment like this in the area and couldn't find anything so when Jordan decided to open the scalp therapy I couldn't wait and booked immediately. This was amazing and relaxing. I booked the 50 minute session - She does a specific scrub / wash followed by the massage which was excellent, then a final wash. I moved to Connecticut in my mid 20s and was surprised that I had such a hard time finding a decent hairstylist. I'd had no problem getting decent cuts in the state in which I grew up but soon discovered that each stylist I tried in CT would cut my hair super short, like chin length, when I'd walk into the salon with my hair well past my shoulders. I always left in tears and thankfully my hair grew back pretty quickly. As the years went by, I got my hair cut less and less, opting to just wear updos because I could not find a stylist to simply layer my hair in a shag cut-which they all tell me is a very easy hairstyle to execute, although none of them were ever able to perform on me. My last two haircuts in 2020 and the end of 2021 were also disasters and both stylists (different salons), did what I specifically asked them NOT to do, leaving me with my wavy/curly-ish hair cut almost to my ears. Fast forward to May 2024 and I simply cannot stand to keep wearing my hair up and I search Google for hairstylists in my area, and I find Bespoke The Salon by Gina. I called and talked with her, going into detail about how difficult it has been for me to get a very simple haircut. I got a very good, upbeat, honest vibe from Gina and I made my appointment for the very next day. First, I absolutely LOVE the salon suite she's in. It's semi private, beautifully decorated and just made me feel very comfortable, relaxed and calm. Gina looks the part of a glamorous hairstylist so I knew that was a great sign. She listened to my requests, explained exactly what she was going to do and kept me informed every step of the way. Most importantly she answered EVERY question and responded to my every request! When she was finished I had EXACTLY the haircut that I'd been asking stylists to give me for over 25 years but never got. I was so thrilled that I almost cried tears of joy! I finally looked like MYSELF again! This cut really compliments my face shape, hair texture and personality. It is the perfect cut for me that will allow me to get ready in the morning without spending hours try to make My hair look presentable because it was just an outgrown mess from incompetent cuts. What's even better is that my husband loves the way it looks and raved about how beautiful I look and how I look the way I did when we first met-yes, this hairstyle is THAT flattering on me. I will 100% be going to Gina from now on and booked my next cut before I even left her suite. I highly recommend this super talented, amazing stylist to anyone who is looking for an amazing haircut and styling by a hairstylist who actually listens! My (adult) son went with me and got a haircut also and she did an outstanding job styling his hair as well. The only availability I could find was with Suzanne. I came in with very long hair, past my waist. I was asked what I wanted to do, so I told Suzanne I wanted to cut a couple inches off and indicated where I wanted my hair to fall by placing my hand at the length I was interested in (middle of chest length). I was in the chair for maybe 4 minutes, she said she was going to do a dry cut and then we were going to go wash and come back to the chair to finish. She cut it slightly past my shoulders. Internally, I was freaking out. We went to wash, returned to the chair, and she started trimming. She asked how it was and I said, "we can't go back now, but it's way too short". At this point, she gave up doing any sort of layering to make the cut look more flattering, I think out of fear of doing more damage. I told her I wanted my bangs cut, and showed her an example photo of what I wanted my bangs to look like and how I wanted them to be above my glasses. She asked me if I curl my bangs when I dry them and I said I do not, and she proceeded to curl my bangs. I was on the brink of tears at this point and I regret not being more vocal in my appointment, but I couldn't sit there any longer and I said my bangs were fine after about 15 minutes of her trimming small amounts. I got up and paid, then went and cried in my car before leaving. I honestly just wanted to look pretty for the first time in a while and left feeling worse about myself and my decision to book this appointment with a hairdresser I did not know. I have no idea what other peoples' experiences have been with this particular hairdresser, but mine was terrible and I have no plans of returning to this salon. Some positives about the salon: the staff is very nice, the space is newly renovated with a modern and trendy style, and they are conveniently located in Devon right over the bridge from Stratford.
