The difference is that here, you dont have to take out a second job to get your hair done every two months. The stylists are fantastic -super friendly without being overly intrusive, and they treat their clients with a sense of importance, like they value their business. I like to book in with Dianne or Donna - Dianne is the owner and Donna is one of the younger girls there, but still does an amazing job. My hair has never looked better. I get colour and highlights, and its the perfect colour for me. My highlights look natural, and they manage to keep my hair long but stil healthy by chopping off just the right amount each visit. Honestly I cant recommend this place enough. If you are in the area, or even if you arent, and are looking for a new stylist, give them a call. You wont regret it.

Before your haircut starts, you're treated to a head and neck massage with your choice of essential oil- hello relaxation. Zucci uses Aveda products which are flower and plant based that smell absolutely amazing!! Your hair will never smell better. I have had my hair coloured (balayage) and cut here so many times and I am always happy with the results. The salon has just had a makeover, but it has always been a very modern salon with stylish staff to match. Quality is evident in every detail- even the magazines are high fashion (none of the gossip magazine crap that makes me cringe). Make sure you enjoy an Aveda licorice tea throughout your appointment. If you're there during quieter times you may even be lucky enough to score a hand massage or have make up applied by the apprentices. The only pitfall of seeing the same stylist for years and years is that he is now incredibly expensive for a haircut.

I do NOT reccommend "Golden Hair Image" as of what happened to my mum.

You won't find the usual hustle and bustle you do at other salons, instead the girls take the time to get to know you, find out what you're after and work with what you've got. Each time I visit, no matter how long between visits, they always remember where we left of. It doesn't stop just at your haircut, Emma is always so dilligent in sending a follow up text message asking how you like your hair and what's more they also offer FREE tidy-ups a few weeks after your haircut. This Christmas, I gifted a Sogo style for my mum and sister, needless to say they're going to become regulars. I haven't seen Mum smile that much in years, it was brilliant. Not only do you get a great style and service at Sogo, you also become part of their family.

I was also very grateful that Luke correctly diagnosed my scalp condition as "psoriasis" and not just simply a "dry scalp" as advised incorrectly in the past. Luke also offers clients a home service. After moving to Melbourne, almost 9 months ago, I've put off getting a haircut because, well, life…read moreis tough enough without having a fugly hairdo. I opted for boring versus messed up. Though a recent bad self inflicted DIY ombre (sorry, balayage!) job has made it inevitable so after trawling Vogue Forum, I decided on Shibui because, well they are known for natural / non madcap hair. I booked in with Anita and arrived early. The wait was minimal and I showed her my inspiration look - Emily Deschanel from Bones. She felt my hair, asked a bunch of questions about what I was going for in terms of length etc and off we went! First up - Anita gives an amazing AH-MAZING head massage. I usually hate having my hair washed because well, it's never pleasant but this was ACTUALLY enjoyable. Truly. I found that she took quite a fair bit of time just being precise - e.g. making sure the ends of my hair are matching lengths etc which is awesome because it's ALWAYS nice not to have an Edward Scissorhands at your head. I didn't think such a simple cut needed such careful work but the results were mind blowing, I think that this is easily the BEST haircut I've ever gotten and I'm definitely heading back. Another thing I loved - Anita wasn't a chatty mc chatterson. Some people love chatty stylists but I'm painfully shy and I dread small talk especially with strangers so, she was really quiet and focused which was really good.
