Worst haircut place ever. They add way to much conditioner when they wash your hair so after your hair is completely ruined. On top of that the staff is extremely rude and unprofessional. I showed them a simply haircut and they kept telling me they were going to cut off parts that I didn't tell them at all and acted like they didn't know how to cut hair all at. I walked in on Jun 02, 2021 without an appointment. Immediately was greeted and squeezed me in within a half hour. I didn't get the girls name, but she did a great job cutting my hair and offered a pleasant conversation. I travel for work and my schedule is all over the place, so I am typically left doing walk ins. May not be ideal for them, but the fact I was able to be acknowledged and treated with respect was great... I got one of the worst hair cuts I've ever had in my life at this hair cuttery from a a fella named Ozzy. Given, I did not have an appointment. I work a job that makes it really hard to schedule haircut appointments, so I'm glad to have a place like hair cuttery to go to. I was hesitant to even write a review, but my experience was so bad and my haircut is so awful even after trying to see if it would sit differently after a few days. I walked in with a chin length Bob that I was ready to cut into a pixie. I wanted to keep my bangs, but just get more texture into my hair. I was greeted by a young woman that seemed to know what I was talking about and I was excited...until she passed me back to Ozzy. Ozzy brought me to the chair, i showed him a photo of what I wanted and we agreed that he would cut my hair with scissors then go through with a razor to add some texture. Unfortunately, this isn't what happened. Ozzy took me to wash my hair before cutting it. He has really long hair and he did t put it up before washing my hair, so his hair kept falling my face! Then he brought me to the chair to cut my hair. He never used scissors during the cut...he ended up doing all of it, including my bangs, with a straight razor. When he was done with the razor, he did not even bother to check to see if my haircut was even before he put in the nastiest, thickest pomade I've ever seen. He grabbed it from a back room and it was so thick that he had a hard time getting it out of the container. He styled my hair in the ugliest way, and he could tell that I did not like it so he offered to wash the product out for me...and then he sent me on my way and didn't really say anything about it. Now I'm stuck with side burns and bangs that are grossly uneven, and I'm going to have to deal with looking like a puff ball (due to the razor cut) until my hair grows out. I wanted to cry when I left cause I absolutely hated my hair cut. I've had great experiences at other hair cuttery locations in the area but this ain't it. I had an appt @ 1PM today on 3/18 with Kimberlee. I have 0 complaints about her but I do have a major issue with #1 lack of management on duty that allowed the chaos to transpire today. #2 Diana who was all in my personal business, assumed stuff and started the chaos and drama and the Karen - Ashley that had the audacity to come up to my face to tell me and my stylist to stop having our conversation and asked me personal question of where I work. The entire background drama that I didn't learn until AFTER the fact when everything went chaotic was astounding. As we started our conversation Kimberlee did let me know she stepped down from her position too dramatic for her plus she want to go home and not have to deal with managerial duties and have certain freedoms. Anyway we were having our convo about work dramas and I can relate and was just talking with her about MY personal experiences. I worked in call centers so drama I know all too familiar and seen my fair share. And I can say for a fact that these two persons are dramatic with how they came at me as a paying customer which I've paid way more than enough money as I am a regular there. Diana was consistently muttering and glaring down at me as I'm talking to Kimberlee about my experiences in life and work never would I think at 50 I would be involved in other people's drama like I experience today. You can see her IF the cameras work Diana go to the back room a few times and you will also see Ashley approaching me and Kimberlee. Ashley should be fired for approaching me the way she did I thought she was a manager she wasn't asking me where I worked as if my conversation was not about me like I have no clue at this point what is going on ... Diana for creating a mess for being in my personal conversations with my stylist. She obviously assumed it was about her and their behind the scenes drama and again uncalled for drama happened and this became a very horrible experience that in all my years I have never experienced in any salon. Tara I learned is the acting asst mgr who didn't even approach once when Diana and Ashley were coming up to me and stayed quiet. The only time she came up to me was when I went off on Diana because she had the audacity to come to me and stare me down like threatening glares. Whatever psycho trip this person is on she needs to go take her meds! So I told her about herself and told her off and that's when Tara came to ask what was going on... like get a grip of your employees !! What do you mean? And I spoke to Debbie another manager over the phone and I told her what was going on and I guess she sent Kimberlee home my stylist when it was the other two that were the major drama. I am astounded the manager didn't do nothing and allowed these two women to come at me as a customer. SUPER UNPROFESSIONAL !!!! I'm updating my review bc I'm still very happy with this salon for over a year now. Most recently I went in for a keratin treatment. The end results were not what I wanted and I felt that it didn't look the way it should. I spoke with the manager (politely!) to talk about my concerns and she offered to not only re-do the keratin but also refund the money. I declined the refund bc that didn't seem fair but did take her up on the re-do. It seems like the woman who did my hair didn't quite get it right. They were so nice about the re-do and even threw in a free cut and mask!! At 6:15 pm I made an appointment for 7:15pm that same evening. Arrived on time to find door locked with two employees and a customer inside. Employees initially refused to come to the locked door until I repeatedly told them I had a 7:15 appointment. Then came to the door to confirm they knew about appointment but would not honor it because of an unspecified emergency. Then locked the door and said they would call the police if I did not leave. I left and won't go back. I guess It would have been too much to expect for them to squeeze in a 15 minute men's haircut or to have called me to cancel the appointment before I drove over there. WARNING: DO NOT GET YOUR HAIR CUT HERE!!!!! I was visiting my sisters who live in Baldwin Park and needed a quick trim. My hair is very long and it's a straight cut across the bottom (with no layers). HOW HARD CAN IT BE TO CUT A STRAIGHT LINE?!!!! Well obviously it's VERY HARD for MIRANDA the girl that, unfortunately, I let cut my hair. I was very specific about how I don't trust anyone to cut my hair because I'm always afraid they will cut too much. I told her to just TRIM a little bit off the bottom! ONLY 1 INCH! She had the chair turned away from the mirror the entire time so I couldn't see what she was doing, it was only when I saw a HUGE 5" chunk of my hair on the ground I knew the damage had been done. I decided not to freak out immediately hoping it would look fine when she dried my hair. I was wrong! Even after my hair was dry, she had the chair turned away from the mirror, I asked her what she was doing and she said just "fixing the bottom" - basically CUTTING MORE!!!! I told her to turn the chair around and that's when I saw what she had done! My long hair, that has taken YEARS TO GROW, was chopped! I lost 5" overall around the back and the worst part: SHE DECIDED TO "ANGLE" THE FRONT, CHOPPING AN ADDITIONAL 6 INCHES OFF!!! But it wasn't an angle! It was a big chunk! huge "step" from one length to the other. And the bottom, which should have been straight, had various shelves in it because none of it was cut the same length! Then she wanted to "fix it" by CUTTING MORE!!!! Bottom line, I left CRYING from the salon and it totally ruined the rest of my vacation. And now everytime I touch my hair and feel how short it is I get upset! I have been going through every emotion from crying to wanting to go back there and cut HER hair off to make it look as bad as mine! If you really need a hair cut, you'd be better off going across the street to CVS and buying child safety scissors and cutting it yourself with no mirror!!!! Tony cut my hair here for the 2 years I lived in Baldwin Park--he was consistently cheerful, happy guy who was meticulous about my haircut and after only once or twice never forgot how to do it. He inspired loyalty instantly: you could tell he loves what he does and did it well. Haircuts always came with a wash and dry. I didn't know any of the other stylists, but the general atmosphere was busy and friendly. I generally called ahead and set a time since walking in could mean a wait. Ugg...last time I came here their hair cut price went from $15 to $17. I already found $15 high, but I really like the employees here and for the 4 years I've come. I can't remember a bad haircut, so I'm going to continue coming here. And a wash is included. Their was one time I had a bad stylist, from someone who I've never seen work here before. The next time I came, she wasn't working here anymore. I had inquired about her and they hinted that she didn't meet their standards and was let go. I don't have a regular. Everyone has been good to me, so everyone is really my regular. Whoever is cutting my hair, will usually remember me coming from before. Even though I might have to start over again with a different hair stylist, or start over again with one who hasn't cut my hair in a few months, they always do it right. She advised me how to treat my hair, gave me the treatment and recommended some shampoo without being pushy. The prices were all shockingly low, her understanding of my issues was very clear, and the overall experience was excellent. The only complaint I had was that I was told it would be a 15-minute wait, but I ended up waiting nearly 45 minutes. But during that time I was apologized to for the wait, so I can let that go.
