I had a scheduled appt. for a haircut with Susana. No one spoke to me after I checked in and I sat for 40 minutes with all the staff completely ignoring me. All the stylists looked very unhappy like they didn't want to be there and no one said anything to me while I waited, not "I'll be with you shortly" or any indication of how long it would be before my stylist would be ready for me. I finally just walked out, and went somewhere else for my haircut. It was just a waste of my time. This was the most unfriendly, rude salon Iexperience I've ever had. read more

Morgan was such a good listener, friendly and kind. She asked questions to ensure I'd get exactly what i was looking for. After a very bad balayage experience at a different salon, I was super nervous to get my hair colored again but Morgan made me comfortable and confident and the result is perfect. Her listening skills and cut/color skills are amazing. She even gave me a scalp massage during my deep conditioning treatment. She was very gentle with my fragile hair and sensitive scalp. I was never once uncomfortable and typically for me a cut and color can be pretty painful with lots of pulled hairs. Highly recommend Morgan! read more

After being in-evenly hacked up (giving multiple stylists opportunity for a decent hair cut over a 1 year period) by Great Clips on Franklin St. in Michigan City, IN. and having to go get it fixed, I went to Hair Cuttery the following morning. As the stylist there ridiculed the stylist at Great Clips the entire time she was cutting my hair, after driving 40+ miles home and attempting to style my hair (76.00 they don't style, they just try to cut) I see one side is hanging an inch over my ear and the other side is cut around my other ear (I even took a picture of the cut I was going to have to do to fix the prior cut). The next morning I travelled back and told them I was unhappy with the results and showed them why. So now I'm on the 3rd day, second salon and 3rd stylist. I still walked out with an uneven cut and not enough hair to fix. I wouldn't allow anyone there to even trim my dogs hair. read more

The stylist was very polite and a sweetheart tbh. That said, the name on the window is misleading if the stylists are unable to do a simple skin tight medium fade. Never again! I took my 9 year old grandaughter for a haircut and blowdry... I thought $36 plus a tip for a 3 inch trim seemed a bit much. Needless to say, the stylist did a nice job. Another stylist was extremely rude yelled at me and said I could not sit down. I had just been offered a chair by my stylist! This is not a very welcoming way to do business. There were only 3 other customers in the shop. She was rude and made me feel very uncomfortable being there. With the times we are going through with Covid, and the decline in business, you would think customer service would be very important. read more

I hate to pull the black card but no one ever speaks to me when I walk in. I've been coming here for years because of the convenience but as of late... they are so slow it's never convenient. I've had no complaints, they cut it how I want it and they've never shaved my head. 17 bucks might be a bit much but they give you exactly what you want and I usually only get a haircut a few times a year anyway read more

So the forced appointment approach only works if they keep their appt time. Over 35 mins and she's not even close to finishing with previous client. Sadly their are 3 hair stylists not doing anything. I guess the clients time really has no value. Make sure you have all day before you book. They generally do a good job when it come to doing hair but I have things to do. read more

Stylist did the exact opposite of what I asked. I just wanted my current style (that I loved) cleaned up. I thought I was pretty specific in saying that the length of one side was perfect, and that just the back really needed to be cut. (I have.... had, a funky steep angle asymetrical bob) again, I said I wanted to keep the length. She leveled the steep angle, I'd say removing at least 3 inches from the one part of my hair i said not to cut other than a nip and barely touched the back..... I paid and left.... furious. Now, I've got the standard "mom bob" that will take maybe 6 months to grow out. Argh.... no fixing this. My husband called and complained for me, the solution? A coupon for a haircut I can use at another location. read more

Oops, I did it again!! The poor unsuspecting stylist did not even no what was coming. I had let my hair grow so the strip of Grey down the center of my head was wide enough for a 747 to land. I gave Jennifer enough conflicting information to drive her up a tree, and left the final color and style up to her. Jennifer recommended a dark brown with caramel highlights, I was impressed with her color choice and technique. The color came out lovely. She spent about 5 minutes cutting my hair and said she would blow dry it and finish the cut. After an inordinate amount of time being blown dried I looked in the mirror and a soccer mom looked back. Jennifer looked anxious and frustrated so I whipped out a pix with my hair in a Maxine's cut. I think a light bulb went off because then Jennifer began to feverishly cut my hair...and did an excellent job. In an upscale salon like Maxine's the stylist will skillfully go over every hair on the clients head to make sure it is all even and falls right every time. They ability to whip out the perfect cut every time separates the boys from the men in this business. I had been going to a local Hair Cuttery and needed to switch to a closer location. Came here and since then, there have been 3 different stylists who left. Understandable as I'm sure there is turnover. BUT....in the last 3 months, I showed up to find that my stylist wasn't going to be in that day (apparently, they don't call anyone even though they take your number, whatever), then I "checked in" online, or maybe had an appointment only to have to wait and wait and wait. I left that day, and tried another stylist. Good experience, then that person wasn't available, so I tried another. Again, a good experience but unavailable for appointments. So, back I go to the other person only to get a call that morning that she wouldn't be in. ENOUGH!!! I do want to believe there are some decent hair stylist at this place but I have tried giving them a chance for years and I quit. They rush through and snip snip snip away. I don't feel like they care about clients. Its just a straight in and out business always trying to sell stuff to customers and pressuring them saying it's on sale blah blah bblah so annoying. And the pricing is not worth anything. Im staying away from salon chains. It's a joke. I had Jessica cut my hair in Augusy and she messed it up so bad. It was long and she left me with one half longer than the other. I mean what is that? I had to fix it the next day myself because I had straightened it and thats when I found out.
