The barber kicked me out of her chair. Would you like a hair cut from a dreadlocked or hat wearing woman? No, for me. This one apparently has a short fuse and little skill. Thankfully another dedicated employee finished me. But I bought shampoo. The lowest possible asking tip(20%) was added in after the additional shampoo. This episode lasted 1.5 hours and costed $67. I want to start this review with the fact I never care about heating places. I never care about reviews. I downloaded yelp for the first time ever. Just to give this place ZERO stars. I wish I could give 0 stars. I've come to this place since I was a sophomore in highschool and the place has always messed me up and sometimes was good. So I keep going because those "good" cuts are extremely mediocre and ok at best once your hair finally GROWS OUT. Something must be happening with management because EVERY time I come in since I think around 2023 there is new hair stylists. I notice now that every time I get a hair stylist they have JUST been hired. No experienced people once so ever. leading to horrible haircuts. THIS time was my worst experience yet. I asked for a little off the sides and I'm trying to grow a middle part out. She asks oh so do you want to skin? I immediately answer with no because to the skin sides while trying to grow a longer hair on top is a horrible idea. First red flag. She asks ok what do you want to do with the sides a 1? I say maybe a 2 and clearly she grabs a 1 from what I see in the mirror. She starts at around the top part of the e sides which I find unusual because the shortest part of a fade is usually the bottom. she starts with a 1 or maybe a 2 who knows around the top of my sides pretty much cutting some of the middle part off already from what I asked her NOT to do from the start. Anyways I'm trying to give some lee way and not be an asshole because I can definitely tell she's new and I want to trust the process and not freak out because there have been times where it turns out ok with a rocky start. that's all I was looking for. An OK haircut. not even great or spectacular cause I mean this is Hampton. you're not gonna get a lot for what you pay for. Anyways, I'm turned away from the mirror now I'm guessing my hair stylist can tell I'm not liking it and it's getting hard to hide me not liking it because I have probably 4-5 inches of hair that just turned into 3-4 from the very start annnd my sides just went from an inch long (I know I needed a haircut pretty bad, but this exact experience is why I wait so long to get a haircut.) Now my sides are basically to the skin which I asked NOT TO DO as well. anyways I'm frustrated as anyone reading this could tell by now. this place needs its hiring manager looked into because no one seems experienced EVERY time I have gone for the past couple years. like please hire people who can actually cut hair. get a manequin doll or something and have them do a couple routine cuts to see if they're ok. because how the hell did I just end up looking like a palm tree when all I wanted was my sides SLIGHTLY touched up to losing all the hair that was with my sides. Also just asked for LIGHTENING UP the top. this stylist didn't even use those scissors meant for that. she just grabbed combs and cut the tips of my hair which in all my life is not how I've seen it done. like are we giving out free hair cut certificates now? I don't understand. Also after this whole experience she tells me "it grows back" Thansk for your brilliant insight. two of the other people working hit me with "niiice" while she was cutting. I think anyone knows if your other coworkers are coming into check in on the hair cut of your client and taking a couple seconds looking at it, baffle.... then just know you're doing a horrible job. I still paid. Didnt tip. Hiring manager of hair Cuttery please hire decent people, maybe pay them more because I think every stylist you have had have left for reasons that has to be for pay, management, treatment or something. just do something please. Cause I'm never coming here again. I'm sick of being made fun of every time I get a haircut from this place. SAVE YOUR MONEY AND DONT GO HERE. read more

Have been looking for a local salon and kind of bypassed Hair Cuttery. All of the more expensive "Spa Salons" had no available appointments for weeks! I needed a haircut bad!! So, I took a leap and scheduled an appointment, on the same day! Wanted someone who was seasoned and could handle my thin, old lady hair, lol. Jeanneen, a Master Stylist with lots of experience did a great job at about half the price I've been paying and she spent time with me! he was absolutely phenomenal! I had my hair butchered at another salon a couple days ago and was in desperate need of someone who could fix my terrible hair do. I called AOC after seeing them on yelp and all the great reviews they had, and was recommended by the receptionist that I should get an appointment with Greg. My experience was fantastic from the second I walked in, the salon is cozy and smells wonderful, the staff is so friendly and considerate, and Greg was on time with my appointment... I am a military brat and being in time is a big deal to me. The consult with Greg was great; he was honest with what should be done to fix my hair and told me exactly what he was going to do. He was so gently and methodical from the shampoo to the cut to the blow dry. My hair looks gorgeous and astronomically better than it did when I walked in. I have already gotten so many compliments and I am so thankful to Greg for his amazing work and being able to fit me in on such short notice! read more

(One can not even make an appointment at HC without them looking you up by their phone number!) This type of thing has happened about every time I go there. This HC is so irresponsible.
