I wanted to add Hair Corner onto Yelp. They weren't on foursquare either and I think they're missing a trick.
Yesterday I visited to try their permanent hair straightening. This is otherwise known as thermal reconditioning. You can read all about how it actually works on Google. The girls on the vogue forums swear by it. Still, at such a good price I was very hesitant and anxious about a good result.
I was lucky enough to have stylist Richard Tang on my hair most of the time. He answered my questions well and put me at ease. At one point, I actually had Maisy and Richard blow drying at the same time! I was very impressed with the service.
Admittedly, it was no frills, but that is what I prefer. I took my own water and snacks as it takes about 3 hours for short hair. The end result, well, amazing. My hair this morning still looks like I stepped out of the salon yesterday. Poker straight, and super glossy. Even with the humidity and +30 degrees today. I'm looking forward to giving it a wash on Tuesday (you have to wait) and seeing it straight still.
I would recommend giving them a go, if you're in the area or otherwise are looking for a good hair salon in the city. There really isn't the need to pay a ludicrous amount for a hair cut. It's a shame I'm already so happy at Koogi otherwise I would switch to them for cuts as well. read more
