I made an appointment & brought in 5 pictures and said "You are the artist" He assessed my hair, moving his knowledgeable fingers through my hair & cut it dry. That was the first sign, the only other hairdresser that could give a great cut, cut my hair dry. WOW, I get up in the morning & finger-fluff it and go, and it was that way for weeks. He knows hair, and I have given him the moniker of 007. I told him I am calling you 007. At my next appointment once again.....the most amazing haircut ever & when he was done I said "they call you 007" he laughed & smiled and said "you do" James you better never retire!!! Seriously, I can't believe we have a stylist in Sonora of his quality & I didn't have to drive to San Francisco or LA. A+++

However, I found Melissa after digging through wedding blogs and seeing her work on other brides in the general area. I was attracted to the seemingly effortless style that each of those brides had (although a lot of work goes into those effortless styles). Luckily for me she was available and able to travel down to the Big Sur area for our big day. I went up for a test a few months before the wedding with her and Sarah (make-up). I couldn't have been more delighted with the outcome. I wanted a low bun- with wisps look. I also had succulents that I wanted put in the side of my hair. Not only did I look and feel amazing, I also hired her and Sarah to do my bridal party's hair - which was no easy feat. From braids to super long hair to super short hair - they had to make it work for all of them. We all received so many compliments from our family and friends. Everyone looked so beautiful and I would highly recommend Melissa and her team to anyone.

My response to the owner is this.. I did not blame you in particular. I blame your stylist, India…read more I do however now place some responsibility you because you keep defending this odd behavior. I was never properly color matched!! Every time I came in, India said hmmm the color is off. Did you do something so different to your hair?? I said no India, you are the one who colored it. So.. if they don't match.. maybe that's where the switch of hair happened and as far as the box goes.. maybe they all come in one shipping box but I was shown my hair in a fancy little hard box all sealed up for me so don't lie to your customers about that! I know you're looking out for your reliability and reputation here but that should also mean you should look into it and your other owner, Kayla is the one who offered me a used box from someone else's hair. Explain that

She made the entire process painless (and even fun!) from beginning to end. I told her I wanted a trim that would bring out my natural wavy texture (which I'm learning to embrace) without making the ends thin (because I want to continue growing and donating it) and she absolutely NAILED IT. Seriously, I washed it the next day and just air dried it without using ANY product in it and my hair was gorgeously wavy and had 10x the volume!! It's like she reprogrammed my tresses! My high school reunion was later that same day, so after chopping and cutting I asked if she could style it for the event... and she nailed that too! Nobody has ever styled my long hair in a way that didn't fall flat within the hour (because of the heavy weight of that much length) but my appointment was at 9:30AM and my hair still looked bomb when I left the reunion at 10PM that night! Even though it had been outdoor and windy!! I honestly can't speak highly enough of Mona and Kids Kutz. Don't let the name fool you because they definitely aren't just for kids. I'm honestly never letting anyone else touch my hair again, EVER. If you want to see more of the donation and how amazing my haircut is holding up, look me up on TikTok: @AnniesGotaBun
