This has happened to me twice with him at 2 locations. My bad for thinking this guy finally got his shit together. I had called 2 other salons nearby, one of which took several days to reply to my emails/calls, and the other never even bothering to call back after I had left 2 voicemails. Onward with my search, I discovered Janmichael. I'm so glad I did! He was prompt in replying to my texts and assured me he could do my base bump and highlights, along with correcting a bit of chlorine green in my blonde locks. Janmichael arrived on time (as I was his first appointment of the day) and went at my hair like the pro that he is. The chemicals he used didn't burn or tingle my scalp as they did at other salons. My color lifted fast and well! On went the toner and I didn't even need a separate treatment to correct my chlorine damage, it was all taken care of with Janmichael's technique! After a quick blow dry, we popped in a set of hair extensions I brought along for him to color-match and it was a perfect match! He, as a person, is fun, hilarious, vivacious, and very personable! I felt like family when I left...we are on "hug basis" now and I felt very comfortable with him both handling my hair and with chatting about more personal life details. Jan Michael is the sweetest and most fun person with the best energy, the kind of energy that tells me that I can trust this person with my hair! So he invited me into his Beautiful Salon and I just said okay! Have at it! A makeover was long overdue and my self confidence was severely lacking. He transformed my look from something out of the 1980's or 90's to a modern, stylish and clean look. I went to Janmichael for a Brazilian blowout and cut last May because there was an awesome Groupon deal. I wasn't sure what to expect, but I was blown away by Janmichael's skill. Usually people see my crazy curly hair and are unsure how to approach it but Janmichael got to work right away without complaint. He asked exactly what I wanted and followed it to a tee. My hair came out the perfect length, with bangs that framed my face perfectly (I had never had bangs before!), and it was completely straight. Unlike other Brazilian blowouts I've had where the stylist does the treatment and then puts me under a blowdryer, Janmichael dried every strand by hand -- which just shows the dedication he puts into his work. WOW! Where to begin on JanMichaels abilities to transform a head from drab to chic! You'll have to excuse my weird phrase above but from first impression of JanMichael, I immediately was drawn to him as he is full of life and has a zest for styling hair that I can honestly say in my 14yrs here in the valley, Ive yet to see that "zest" that one may look for when shopping new hair stylists. JanMichael has that Zest and then some. He's very personable, very friendly, talkative I truly cannot remember the last time I got my hair done and i left feeling all happy and eager for my 3 weeks and get a cut and style routine to come around again. As a hair stylist, yeah i mentioned he's very approachable as a person, but within seconds of sitting down at his station inside his salon, he immediately made me feel as if HELL!? he is my new stylist but because of his friendly personality and approach, i truly and without can say i felt as if he'd had been doing my hair for the 150th time or as if we've had been close friends my entire life with this individual. Amongst the personal level of professionalism you get him asking questions in regards to what you want done to your hair. But not all interrupting your thought, I'm still not quite sure how he was able to get his questions in w/o me thinking at least once "ugh lost my train of thought" the way that most hair stylists are. I've been getting them on and off since 2011 from different salons and this was the worst my hair has ever looked afterwards. The most frustrating thing is that when I tried to reach out to him about a followup visit or refund he blocked my number. If I could give JanMichael 10 freaking stars on this thing I totally would! I received the blowout of my life at his salon. I basically cold called him and he texted me back and got me in literally the next day at this salon for a brazilian blowout. My hair is super long and thick and he didn't charge me extra or nickel and dime me. He was super professional and knew a lot about the products and explained the process and how to keep it in great condition. He took the time to hand blow dry my hair to make sure he got every piece. While at the salon, other stylists were constantly asking him advice on color and techniques for their clients and without hesitation he told them exactly what to do. He's the real deal. I booked an appointment online only to show up to find he no longer works at that location. I spent 45 minutes going to other locations he has posted on the Internet and each one of them stated he no longer works there. I tried calling multiple times to no avail and no follow up. Addresses listed on living social and yelp are incorrect and phone number listed goes unanswered. I wouldn't by a yelp or living social deal to see this man, I'm not sure he even exists. read more

Purchased Brazilian Blow Out...not at all happy with results or the condition of my hair. My expectations were that it would be as good as others I've had at various salons (which all were great). This was not. Although my hair looked good when I left the salon; it was not straightened and now I have to work on it more than before the process. No phone follow up for appointment confirmation (he lost my number)...and I was given the wrong address of the salon.
