Dr. Kaye is a great doctor! Here's what she does well:
She thinks outside the realm of many MDs, finding things many other doctors missed
She spends a good amount of time with clients
She's compassionate
She listens
She treats clients with respect
She's willing to be a partner in your healthcare (my preference)
We discussed together which labs we would run (my preference)
Her NP, Beth is excellent, as is her phlebotomist
Her front office staff are helpful and very pleasant
Parking is plentiful
Opportunities:
Long wait times.
Some lab results would benefit with a better follow up. She emails the results with notes regarding the out-of-range results. While I can really appreciate this approach overall, as will many others, it didn't work well for my particular circumstance. For me, even with the accompanying notes, I was not well enough to interpret the lab results. A phone call from an NP would have helped a lot. Often I would have to call the office for guidance, although the staff was extremely responsive.
Lab results could be studied more closely for trends. It appears that she may rely too heavily on the reports to indicate that something is out of normal range, thereby missing some clues for future results. For example, I became anemic while seeing her, and I thought she should have noticed the labs trending in that direction.
In summary, Dr. Kaye provided an essential stepping stone in my path to wellness. Before I found her, I had been through a plethora of doctors, none of whom helped me, and my condition steadily worsened until it became quite serious. Dr. Kaye was the first doctor to help me turn my health around. read more
