ron review This is a…read moretale of two well companies. Our well opens into a sulphur deposit and what makes our water potable is a filtration unit that pulls out hydrogen sulfide (and iron) as our domestic water runs through it. This is the far less common way to treat that horrible smell, we know, but for now, it's what we've got ...Or had, until it blinked out first thing on a Saturday morning (of course). Fast forward to Monday morning. We tried to contact the company who installed it, but they'd sold off that part of their business. So, we called that company, left a message and didn't hear back from them. On Tuesday, we used their online appointment setting form and someone did come out on Wednesday morning. They readily admitted they didn't know anything about these filtration units which didn't surprise us as none of the well companies we'd previously dealt with did. But they told us they'd research them and figure out how to fix ours, assuring us they understood the critical situation we were in. When we hadn't heard back from them by Friday afternoon--now almost a week without potable water-- my wife suggested I reach out on the Anza Bulletin Board Facebook group, which is undoubtedly the best idea she has ever had because someone in the group suggested Ron Coleman of Artesian Water Well and Filtration Services. I looked at the company's profile page and it, in fact, listed sulphur removal system repair as one of the services they offer. Also, unbelievably, it stated 24/7 service. So, on a Sunday afternoon, on a whim of desperation, I called and left a message fully expecting not to hear back--despite what they advertised--till the next day. Wrong. I got a call back a couple of hours later and after explaining the problem to Ron, he agreed to come out for a look on Monday. On Monday, he came out to inspect the problem, contacted his supplier, tried to get a rebuild kit to save us some money. On Tuesday, the rebuild kit for that model having been discontinued, he drove out to Ontario to pick up the necessary replacement part. On Wednesday, he installed it. On Thursday, he called to make sure everything was ok (which, happily, it was). And that other well company, the one we first contacted? We still haven't heard back from them. Ron and I had a chance to chat for a few minutes and it's clear he knows a few things. He knows how to show up when he says he will. He knows how to go above and beyond to make his clients happy. He knows how to be honest, courteous and respectful and to treat water emergencies like the emergencies they are. And he's also pretty darn good a fixing stuff. Here's the thing. There are some well companies out there that somehow manage to keep themselves in business, (God only knows how). There are some good, reputable companies out there to be sure. And then there is Artesian, which as far as I'm concerned, is in a class all by itself.

The workers came to the door and said that some machines needed to be replaced, and I was also very active in replacing them immediately. But recently, I called on June 30th and said that the filter needed to be updated, and I immediately agreed to replace it. They came to change the filter on July 1st the next day. After replacing the filter, the worker said that if there was a problem, I would contact them. I said yes. But last night, on August 6th, I found that the bottom of the pool was leaking and the water flowed out of the cabinet. When I checked, I found that a tube of the filter was slowly dripping out little by little. I contacted them and sent them video messages, but they didn't reply to messages and calls. I called them again the next day, and a Chinese woman answered the phone. She said that there was a fee for door-to-door maintenance. I said that it was because your workers did not install it after changing the filter water, and the water was a little flow. If it didn't flow outside, it would not be found. She said it's been a month, because it didn't happen before, and they didn't tell me that there was a deadline. This Chinese woman's attitude is very unfriendly, saying that the machine is old and needs to be replaced with a new one. But the worker didn't say that he needed to replace it. Every time I replaced the filter, the worker would tell me that some of them needed to be replaced, but he didn't say it this time. Now if there is a problem, I will replace it with a new one. And this is because the workers didn't install it well when replacing the filter, so it started to drip. Then she told me that she was driving and it was inconvenient to talk. It's inconvenient to answer the phone. Why didn't you say it at the beginning? I'm waiting for their follow-up now. I'll update...

I'm happy we ended up going with a full-service company like Relyon Steven was one of the first people we called because we like their model that offered a carbon filter combo with softening. Steven took the time to come up with a plan that worked for us and met our permitting requirements, submitting all plans, paperwork, and documentation to our city's permit department. He came out multiple times to ensure that the placement of the system would be ideal and check all the boxes. We are so happy with our system and grateful to buy new faucets, appliances, and shower heads that won't corrode! The system is super simple and we know Steven is there to help us troubleshoot anything in the future.

While I was shopping I started thinking about a whole house water filtration system since it had been on mine and my wife's mind as of late so I decided to go back and ask a couple questions which led to giving some of my information for a possible home water test. RelyOn Water contacted me and had a rep come out to test my water at my house. We were looking to avoid fluoride in our water and limit further consumption from plastic water bottles. The test proved disgusting and informed me that, even the expensive water filters that are replaceable in our fridge, don't filter fluoride...I was always skeptical of them to begin with. We moved forward with the process and it was effortless. Everyone involved throughout the entire process was absolutely great. They were all extremely professional and truly went the extra mile at every step. Steven went above and beyond on multiple occasions, Johnny was great and Victor did a great job installing. AO Smith/RelyOn Water deserve the recognition. We couldn't be more happy with both the salt water system and the reverse osmosis system. We only wish we had done it much earlier in life. It's a complete game changer.

My bill has been fluctuating from what I signed up for to 2x and almost 4x what it should be. Online, there are not many details of the extra charges. Just boom, added charge. Also, I get charged by Sparkletts, Primo Water and something that shows up as Washington DC Water and Sewage. After some digging, ALL 3 are sparklets. There is something dirty happening, some kind of scam that is NOT OK. Someone should have some kind of oversight into this and get all the customers their money back. This can't be legal!!

From charging me for additional products I never ordered, to tacking on countless fees (bulk water minimum fee, paper invoice fee, delivery fee), to incompetent sales associates promising (but always failing) to fix the problems- I had to give up. The final straw was when I was charged more than ever during a month I was gone. How could I consume more gallons of water when I was out of the country for a month? How could I consume ANY water if I wasn't home? When I called to explain the issue AGAIN- I was met with an unapologetic and frankly argumentative sales associate. Instead of apologizing- she proceeded to "lecture" me on the difference between perception and reality. She insulted my intelligence by claiming I had no idea what was going on and she couldn't even entertain the thought that perhaps her company was in the wrong. I honestly don't like leaving negative reviews but I feel a responsibility to help out others. Save yourself money, time, and endless frustration by finding some place else to get your water.

The person who I made the appointment with was not very urgent when I said my toilet was actively leaking... it also sounded like she was having a conversation with someone else and was laughing... it was Friday morning (I put in the request Thursday with my warranty company) and she said the first available was Tuesday... when I mentioned again that my toilet was ACTIVELY leaking, she checked again and magically a Monday morning appointment time opened... but that was still days away with water running out of my toilet... I turned off the water myself and just hoped it would be okay until Monday. However, the person on my dispatch call this morning (I wish I remembered her name) was very kind and able to give me an eta of where I was in line so I could plan a little better for my morning. She was professional and attentive. She gets a 9/10. Then, the tech Keith came and was very kind and professional. He came in. Took a picture of the area, got straight to work in identifying the issue from the information I gave him. It ended up being a simple issue of tightening the bolts on the toilet down, however, we're in the middle of selling our home and didn't want to take any chances on a bigger plumbing issue. He left the area as clean as when he got there and checked the toilet a few times to make sure that was the only issue before leaving. He gets 10/10 for service. Before leaving he said if something else happens, I have 30 days per company policy for them to come back if they missed anything. We used our warranty service, First American, so we didn't have a chance to use anyone else. But I did have a good experience once past the original booking person. They really need to give her a lesson on professionalism on the phone. Why was she having a conversation and laughing while I was trying to make an appointment?
