Great museum in Stockton. Who would have thought. Has a lot of local history explained and exhibited here. There is an amazing native exhibit here, so don't miss it. We got in free with a BofA atm card. It is still worth every penny even if you have to pay. Would return someday when I am in the area. I enjoyed this hidden gem!

I visited for only one reason- paintings by Albert Bierstadt. I read on the website that they had the largest collection of his paintings anywhere. That basically amounted to roughly six paintings. I didn't see the primary one that I was searching for, I think it might be at the Met in NY, but the other paintings were fabulous anyway. The paintings were beautifully lit and presented among works by his contemporaries. I am glad that I made the trip because I had never seen any of his seaside paintings. But I'm not sure it would be worth the average person's drive all the way out from Oakland. Stockton is lucky to have such a wonderful collection of Bierstadt's work. The other exhibits and the rest of the collection seemed unrelated and were just curiosities to us. It is extremely difficult to describe the collection as a whole. Everyone was kind and helpful and surprised I had driven out so far just to these paintings, lol! Otherwise, it's a great place for locals and families to picnic outside and take classes and learn a little bit about local history. I didn't take photos of his paintings, because you should really support the museum and it's totally worth the inexpensive admission fee to go see them.

I had no idea Stockton had this gem. Very nice museum with great customer service from beginning to end.

A great place to learn so much history of Stockton itself plus more. The art work and paintings were of aww. Would love to be able to own a coupe of them. Great staff and nice gift shop as well. Reasonable fee to get in of $8.50 each adult. Just so much unique history all around. Definitely would re visit

amazing display of American and European art. They have probably the largest collection of paintings by Albert Bierstadt outside of the east coast. you will be amazed bud the exhibit of wildlife art by Ezra Tucker. I also loved the reconstructions of a Wild West saloon, general store and other scenes of the American west. Drove up here from socal and it was worth the 7 hour trip

It was a pretty cool art gallery.... we spent a couple hours here on a rainy day and enjoyed ourselves. There was also a lot of Native American type history artifacts here.

An hour and a half drive from San Jose is a nice art museum. It is located on the grounds of a very nice park with a rose garden and fountains. We went to specifically look at some of Albert Bierstadt paintings. The main floor had lots of painting of landscape art from many artists of California such as Yosemite. There was also a collection of art (photography, mixed media, paintings) from local artists. On the top floor there is art such as from media (magazine covers, advertisements...etc) in the bottom floor, was art from the Native Americans. I wish that this part was better kept up. The lighting wasn't great as it was on the other floors and there is so much color and detail to the handicrafts that they did that needed to be showcased in better light. The floors were like wooden planks and it just seemed like more of an ignored part of the museum. I think with better lighting, this would enhance the experience.

It's a hidden gem beautiful building inside and out with so much information about Stockton and artifacts to see learn about.

Lots of little exhibits

I hadn't been there in over a decade and it turns ou they remodeled in 2017! Its currently open Wednesday thru Sunday. Face mask is a must. Super clean and nice! 3 floors. Parking is still free all around the park. Lots of clean restrooms and drinking fountains its just such an awesome little museum now. Little exhibits and beautifully planned paintings. Awesome experience.

I am glad I waited to review the Haggin Museum until after their renovations. It is a rather unique museum located in the middle of Stockton as the centerpiece of Liberty Park. Parking is only available on the street, so plan ahead. The museum is a hodgepodge of several exhibits. Most of the museum is devoted to the history of Stockton including the early days and the development of the port. The rest of the museum now houses several large and attractive art galleries with a wide and eclectic mix of art. Locals should absolutely visit the Haggin Museum and the surrounding park. School groups likely hit up the museum on a regular basis. There are probably a few other Stockton tourists like me who should also visit the museum before heading to a Heat or Ports game. The museum is on the small side making for a short trip in about 1-1.5 hours with a decent admission fee. Combined with a nice walk around the park makes for a nice afternoon. Hours and days are limited, but I do recommend stopping by when you are lucky enough to be in downtown Stockton!

No, thanks.

Lived locally for about 20 years, how did I not know this gem existed. Will make a point to revisit as their exhibitions change.

WOW has always been a favorite for our family, but this event really brought the whole community together. The museum was full of energy with kids running from activity to activity, experimenting, building, and just having fun learning without even realizing it. The raffle baskets were fantastic and way bigger than I expected. You could tell local businesses and supporters really showed up for this event. There were vendors set up, tons of hands on activities throughout the museum, and yes, free popcorn which automatically makes any kid event a win. What I love most about WOW is that it never feels overwhelming or overly structured. Kids are encouraged to explore, touch everything, and be curious. You can easily spend a few hours here and still not see it all. It is such an important space for downtown Lodi and a great reminder of how valuable places like this are for families. Fun, educational, and genuinely community-driven. We had a blast celebrating with the WOW museum!

My little cousins had a lot of fun and learned about frequency wave lengths, electricity, and some brain ticklers, amongst other things. I hope this little museum can one day offer more exhibitions for the littles, but we had an amazing time nonetheless!

Adults $20 and Children $25…read more The ticket booth person also didn't give us the correct change back. She took an extra $15 from my friend. Not cool. The dinosaurs were behind plastic gated fence. It was a waste of money. The adults are pretty much paying to walk the kids around. There weren't anything for them to ride or partake in. It was very repetitive and uneventful. The rides are not part of the $25 entrance fee. You have to pay $5 for each ride for each child. ATV (2 power wheels) was quite run down to be honest. Nothing special. 1 1/2 minute ride for $5. Lol Bouncy house was included in the fee, it was ok. Fossil was a sandbox, with dinosaurs glued to the bottom of a kid pool. Lol You might just walk by the movie theatre. Its quite magical. (Sarcasm) All of the rides had an age limit 12 y/o and under. Weight 150. So the older kids would not be able to enjoy it. The rides were tedious remind me of mall rides. No, let me take that back. Mall rides are better and cheaper. If they charge the adults less, maybe... maybe it will be worth it. Food was overpriced. Parking is $5. Do not buy online (there is a fee), buy at door. There is literally no line. They do not allow glass bottles or cans. But you can bring your plastic water bottles. So don't bother buying from their concession stand or vending machines.

Didn't know…read morethis place existed, until we were lunching next door at Papa Urbs, and strolled past the unassuming dark windows. They did have a sandwich board outside advertising that they were here and they were open. A nice older lady opened the door (we were still standing around in front deciding if we should go in) and motioned for us to come in. "Welcome!!!" She informed us that they had their opening ceremony in October last year. It's a small space, but filled with lots of wall panels and pictures depicting the life of Filipino immigrants living in California's Central Valley and beyond. There was a nice exhibit of Filipino bikers, which somehow blew my mind. People don't usually associate a motorcycle club with Filipinos ("Sons of Adobo"???). Just kidding, it's real, interesting and was put together by the founding father, "Manong Ernie." One of the docents (museum is 100% volunteer-ran) came out and gave us a presentation of the museum itself and a little history lesson of the Stockton Filipino community. I learned about Filipino-American migration, the types of jobs Filipino immigrants did, and the role of Filipino-Americans in WWII. They had some traditional outfits on display as well.
