I had two classes and anytime I was making the classes they would be overlapping so finally I got my schedule advisor said it's two classes and everything's good. I'm in the right classes however she did lead me to the right direction that advisor did I give her a 10 out of 10, however, when I went to class on the first day, which I thought was supposed to be Monday, but the weather was bad. The teacher checked and poor guy it was not his fault but he said I was not in his class and he said you might want to double check online. I will help you through it or if I can so I wanted to be in his class, but however, I got stuck in the other classes, which is cool too because I'm picking up on a lot and learning a lot from my classes now that everything's cool but so let me tell you so when I found out, the guy said he's not really sure. Let me talk to an advocate. The lady acted like as if she didn't know what she was doing. I already knew she was a teacher of some sort because the way she walked and talked, but she treated me like I was stupid and took me to her office. I don't even know this lady first time I ever met her as soon as we got to her office I sat down and she says so what are your classes kept on acting like I was stupid like and I said well I need to be in these classes and she acted like she didn't know what she was doing she she says well I don't know what classes you take but whatever it is you need to figure it out and you need to figure out fast because I have a class to get to and I cannot be here waiting for you like it was so rude. She needs to change her attitude because quite frankly just cause I'm a student does not mean I don't have a brain in her mouth to defend myself. Sorry about the rant. So we hurried up and screamed to class but she said OK. Do you have any information? I said yeah I'm supposed to be in these classes. She goes OK well it sounds like you're not supposed to show up until tomorrow and I said OK she goes but I still can't wait. We have to leave. I have a class to go to even though I already clearly asked her when we were walking to her office if she was a teacher she said no lol that doesn't matter but anyway it's the point as she treated me like that so don't be nervous of students just be calm collective that's why I mentioning.

At the end of the day you get what you pay for, so cheap tuition is a plus. That being said life happens and instead of being properly educated on dropping classes or adding them, they know they will get their money regardless. Charging almost 700 for a class in September that goes all the way until the end of December is highway robbery. Not contacting the student and letting them know the consequence is dishonest. Had I of known, been gotten back to in an appropriate amount of time I could have made other choices. But then again if you get to charge 50% of a class regardless then why would you. Pay the extra money and try to go somewhere that actually puts the work in, amd not one that gets almost 700 for nothing.

During this time, the university repeatedly violated its own policies by missing response deadlines they established. After nearly three months, I won my grade appeal, demonstrating that my concerns were valid. However, I am now facing another roadblock: the university registrar's office has not updated my transcript to reflect my earned degree. Because of this, I am missing out on job opportunities, a salary increase, and I am unable to apply to master's programs. My academic and professional life has been in limbo since November, and despite my efforts to follow every required process, the university has shown little urgency or concern for how these delays are impacting me as a student and working professional. This has been one of the most stressful experiences of my academic journey, and I would caution prospective students to consider whether this level of institutional responsiveness aligns with their expectations.

This campus offers a liberal arts college feeling with many with many buildings, students, staff, faculty, and resources. Similar to many other large campuses or schools across the country, it feels like it is always under construction as new buildings, athletic facilities, and residence halls are built each year. As Ohio State is one of the largest public universities in the country, there is something for everyone whether in-person or online. At Ohio State, every student has the potential to feel connected with resources and it there is certainly always something happening whether at the Ohio Union, at the Recreation and Physical Activity Center (RPAC), or in the residence halls or any of the athletics facilities including the Horseshoe (Ohio Stadium). More than 14,000 students live on-campus, and the majority of about 67,000 Ohio State students take courses on the Columbus Campus. While campus resources are easily located in the Ohio Union and Lincoln Tower, many other buildings across the Columbus Campus have academic offices or other student services. The Ohio State staff, faculty, and partners certainly try to do everything they can to support all of the students to ensure they are set up to succeed at Ohio State. Originally founded as only a fraction of the Columbus Campus of today in 1870, the campus has grown by leaps and bounds over the years. Even a student who graduated just over 20 years ago, I am surprised in what the campus looks like today. In fact, I just visited campus for the first time in many years last month and barely recognize parts of campus. Even now, big construction projects include the Mirror Lake District Renovation, North Residential District Renewal, and multi-phase William Oxley Thompson Library Renovation. In fact, as of 2022, there were more than 1400 current construction projects in the works across all Ohio State campuses. As the campus continues to grow, the number of buildings on campus continue to increase. In addition to more commonly visited areas like the Oval, the Ohio Union, and the RPAC, there is the Thompson Library and Ohio Stadium. There is also the Wexner Center for the Arts, the Billy Ireland Cartoon Library & Museum, the Orton Geological Museum, Mirror Lake, the Arne Slettebak Planetarium, Buckeye Grove, the Schottenstein Center, and so many other spots. My regular places to have visited when I was a student were Ramseyer Hall (where I took most of my classes), Taylor Tower, Mack Hall, and Bradley-Paterson residence halls. At Ohio State, every student can drive their own experience as they engage in the events and resources on-campus while attending classes, getting an on-campus job, landing an internship or full-time job, joining clubs and organizations, attending many free events and activities, and so much more. The many student services offices at Ohio State are always there for students, and it's easy to find your way towards graduation and your future when taking advantage of these resources. I look forward to seeing what comes next on such a large and lively campus such as Ohio State in the coming years!

My daughter loves the quality of education that she is receiving at the college but the dorms are less to be desired (of course). The cost of college education is crazy & when you have to add in dorms, & food it's almost unattainable. I do believe that Capital is working to make improvements to the deficits in these areas even though they come at a higher cost. I like that Capital tries to provide part-time jobs for students & it's not just based off of income as some other colleges do. I like that with the school being smaller some professors seem to be more attentive to students & notice things out of the ordinary. I also like that when I was concerned about my sick child & called the president of every department that I could find the number to they all responded & checked on my child as well as returned my phone call! I don't like that sometimes the different departments dont tell each other what's going on. I believe that financial aid & accounts payable should know the same info & able to correctly communicate that to parents & students when clarification is needed. Overall, if my child is happy I'm happy.

The admissions process had several glitches in it; forms went missing, phone calls were placed at 8 AM local time (to unfortunate Californians which were received at 5 AM). My goal was to complete the program in one calendar year, and I had selected courses according to the guidesheet and the class rotation, some of which were not offered as scheduled. Although I understand the difficulty with scheduling professors and classes, as it is currently published, it results in frustration on the part of students who try to use it as a scheduling tool. In addition, I found the curriculum itself to be rather constraining; with the five core classes and the practicum/culminating experience, this blocks off a full eighteen units of the thirty-six unit curriculum, allowing for only six electives. When discussing this limitation with my fellow students, I found that many others also felt that this restricted them from truly focusing on areas which they wanted to specialize in; I wanted to focus on public libraries, and had hoped to take a wide range of classes addressing diverse populations (adult, young adult, children) and resources (government, humanities, science, reader's advisory), as well as marketing and ethics, but quickly realized that I could not do so within the prescribed number of classes remaining after the core. I do also think that the Information Technology class needs to be evaluated and rewritten since students coming into the program have a wide range of technological abilities; some are native computer users, and others are more recent adopters. It is excellent that the management class is included in the core curriculum; far too many students are focused on a love of books, and not enough on the fact that every day, they will have to interact with co-workers, superiors, subordinates, and the general public in ways which demand knowledge of organizational communication and management. I found the management class and the collection development classes to be the most practical and valuable of all the classes which I took. The effective use of technology such as video conferencing courses and Blackboard was inconsistent at best; some teachers did exceptionally well at managing video courses, and others did not. I also found that the practicum (internship) program was rather constraining as any internship which paid even a negligible stipend was excluded from the credit-earning culminating experience. Although I have been highly critical of the program (and have expressed this to the program's leaders and administrators), I do believe that Kent has the potential in Columbus to be a strong program. With its many renowned public libraries, the State Library, Ohio Historical Society, and other institutions, there is a wealth of knowledge and resources to draw upon in this area.
