Had a so called "classic beef burrito"…read more Ingredients are far away from good or special. Cheap lettuce and rice is filling their classic beef. Beef means ground meat. No options, just bad quality. Gin & Tonic was as unloving as the burrito. Three years later: Food quality is a lot better. I still miss a real guacamole taste and radish in my beef burrito. But: 3 extra stars.

There are times that I wish we could give 1/2 stars. My wife and I were in Konstanz for a concert…read moreand stumbled upon Burro Burro as it's just round the corner from where we were staying. Basically, the idea is semi-similar to a Chipolte except that Buro Buro has a set few burrito choices and some other select menu items. My wife had the Classic and I had the daily special, the Don Jullo. The flavor of our food was very good, if a bit cool (temperature, not spice level). Service was good, attentive and very friendly. We ordered margaritas but they had just run out of lime juice so they made some fresh. Unfortunately, we were done eating before they came. The whole time our server and the staff kept apologizing for the problem. I ordered a second margarita and the manager mentioned it it would be much quicker than the first time. So, at least they're trying quite hard to please their customers. Something I quite respect. Is it 'real' Mexican food? No, not really. It's definitely much more Tex-Mex but it's Germany. One thing I was quite impressed with is that they use a lot of Cilanto/Koriander. It's something that's required for good Mexican food but most German based Mexican restaurants don't like to use it because Germans, on the whole, really dislike the herb. Curiously, they even garnish their margaritas with it. The place is very new, I don't know exactly how new but it still has the 'new' look and smell. They also do quite a breakfast menu which runs until 18:00. We didn't get into that at all but it looked interesting. Anyway, if I'm ever up in the area again, I'll definitely consider eating there. It'll be interesting to see if Buro Buro expands into other locations as time goes on. One interesting thing was that it was pretty chilly at dinner time last night but their large outside seating area was almost entirely full. It bodes well for their future.

Simply the best pizzeria around! The atmosphere is relaxed…read moreand romantic while keeping the original Italian style to it. The pizza menu is diverse and hits everyones taste easily and has two different size option. Overall a gem of a place

So we arrived in Konstanz one evening and had no idea which place to have dinner in. A quick Yelp…read moresearch revealed Don Alfredo as a 5 stars Italian restaurant, worth checking out. We arrived there around 8.30 pm on a Friday evening and found the place to be very cozy and intimate, located in some sort of underground woody room. However, they had no free seats. The nice waitress told us they might get some free seats in half an hour, so we might just come back then. We left, thinking it will be for sure that we'll come across something at least as nice and we won't need to come back. We didn't. After half an hour we were there again, waiting to be seated. However, there were still no free seats and we had to cluster at a two people table all four of us and wait for another seat to get free. The people there were having lots of fun and the atmosphere seemed to be purely italian (probably that's as good as it gets for an Italian restaurant in Germany). Some of the customers, as well as the staff, were Italian, which is always a very good sign. We ended up waiting for another 20 minutes around, but it was well worth. I had the best pizza in my life there (pizza Parma). My boyfriend had veal steak with risotto (very good) and my other friends had Spinach pizza and pasta with sea food. Portions were huge, so we took the left overs with us. Oh, the tomato soup I had as a starter was one of the best I ever had.. and it only costed 4 euros :) Same is valid for the Tiramisu as a desert.. simply delicious. Add a bottle of wine to this meal of four and the bill was 95 euros. Used with Swiss prices, we found this to be extremely cheap, as well as the quality / price ratio to be super high. It's worth to say that the staff was always a bit confused. I assume they didn't speak German so well and English much less.. they forgot to add some extra toppings to our pizzas and often got parts of the order messed up (2 Espressos instead of one, different kind of wine than what we asked for etc.). However, our food and wine were so delicious that it was no point complaining.. they made us very happy, hence a well deserved 5 stars from me for this one!
