Zoë from Hadley-Clarke Mortgages recently arranged a mortgage for me. She was terrific at listening to my needs and finding a suitable product for me. My initial meeting with Zoë was arranged on a Saturday morning, so I didn't need to take time off work. I was a mature house buyer (age 51), so the term length could have been an issue for me. But Zoë scoured the whole market and found a product that didn't penalise me for my age and was extremely competitive, and I should have the house paid off before I retire.
Once we'd agreed on a lender and product, Zoë kept in regular contact with them until their mortgage offer came through, I didn't have to deal with them directly, which was really nice, Zoë did all the legwork for me. She was incredibly tenacious and kept me informed every step of the way. Even emailing me in the evening to let me know of developments late on during the day.
I am so pleased I went to Zoë to arrange my mortgage. I've got exactly the right product. Also, she doesn't charge a fee, unlike the mortgage advisors based in the estate agents offices, as she is paid a commission by the lender. And she is able to offer other products such as critical illness, life insurance, etc, but I never felt under any pressure to purchase these products. She simply explained that they were available and why they might or might not be a good idea for me, and left it for me to decide. There was no hard sell, which is very refreshing in today's world!
