This place is hit or miss. Mostly miss and I do no recommend this place…read more Today for example: 1. Got seated at 2:40pm before lunch closes at 3:00pm. 2. Was shown the lunch portion of the menu and waiter walked away. In the distance could see two waiters disgruntled about I only assume me not being there earlier. As they appeared to be pondering who would wait on me I could see the two "cook" even more disgruntled. Finally when my table was approached and I wanted an item from the lunch menu I was informed it was to late, only bar menu as I watched the two "cook" wanted an early departure. 3. So a burger with onion rings was ordered but served a burger with fries. No temperature was asked concerning my burger. Is management running the place or the staff ? I stay at this hotel often, and with schedule constraints it's my only option. I'm finished with the attitude, lack of management and their cavalier attitude.

I ordered the ribeye that was delicious, but you have to order it medium/ao ponto, as they undercook the meat in Brazil. Accompanied the steak with mashed potatoes and a glass of Catena Malbec. With tip came to $75US--worth it. Same meal in USA would easily be $125. Right around the corner from the Fasano Hotel where I stayed and very nice ambience--cool historic tree as you enter the premises along with a nice bar area and kitchen where you can view them preparing and cooking the steaks.

I fully appreciated the blanket and heaters that were brought over as it was a chilly evening, yet we were still "indoors" but not. Service was impeccable, with every member of the staff ensuring our experience was top notch and food met our expectations. I chose the slowly roasted beef ribs rice and was not expecting savory goodness that arrived! The beef ribs melted in my mouth and the rice was so incredibly flavorful - I would order this over and over again! Of all the restaurants I've been to, Figueira Rubaiyat has by far the one of the most extensive wine list I've seen, featuring many different wines from around the world, including Brazil of course! There is also a gift shop that should not be missed because of the very unique items that are found here - and a place I'll need to visit next time I'm in the area again! The entire experience is one that should not be missed. Every detail and every bite was absolute perfection!

The service is great and the menu has a really good variety of options. I especially have to recommend the fries. Overall, I find the prices very reasonable for the quality of the food and the experience. Definitely a place I'd recommend

We celebrated Thanksgiving at the Renaissance Hotel for the second year in a row. The food was…read moreless good than last year. I would be surprised if they have not replaced the chef with a new, less skilled one. Cranberry sauce wasn't jellied. Stuffing had no French herbs (sage is integral to the flavor) and they treated the stuffing like it was farofa so there was pork fat in it that made it unappealing. The Brussels sprouts showed poor technique. The squash soup and the beef was bland and not sweet enough. The worst crime was that there was no pumpkin pie, a necessity on Thanksgiving. What was good: The mashed potatoes were more cream and butter than potato and they were decadently delicious. The turkey was cooked perfectly. The gravy was a savory delight. Last year, they gave me a to go box for my leftovers, but this year they wouldn't let me have one. Although there were good aspects to the meal, it looks like I'll be cooking Thanksgiving dinner next year or finding a different restaurant to try.

I love several other Churrasacarias in São Paulo, but this one is a real standout. We had a group dinner with friends and coworkers, and we were led to a large table, and the staff fawned all over us. They were very accommodating and friendly. The food and wine were all top-notch, and they brought whatever cut of meat you asked for, instead of waiting for the "good stuff" like the Picanha. The salad bar was great as well, although I was a bit disappointed that they didn't have any Feijoada, which is usually a staple at any Churrascaria in Brazil. Again, there are several good Churrascarias here, but if you want the best, you won't get any better than Barbacoa!

Although I didn't rely on anyone speaking English, more staff were able to speak English here than any other spot we visited in SP. In a city not overrun with American tourists, I did manage to hear some of my fellow countrymen here. We visited twice and both times had the hummus, which was a delightful twist on the original, heavy on lemon (the yellow kind) and turmeric (maybe?). Also had the arancini both times and they arrived piping hot in a delicious red sauce. Second visit we tried the sushi and sashimi platter - despite my reluctance to eat sushi when not in view of the ocean - and it was delicious. We shared everything we ordered, including trying some truly outstanding craft cocktails. Perhaps I am sticker shocked from living in NYC area, but we couldn't believe how affordable it was, and would recommend this spot without reservation.

There were certainly plenty of Japanese speaking customers mixed in with Portuguese. And I, the odd tourist, felt right at home. The bamboo shoot and shitake mushroom appetizers were delectable. The chicken broth ramen was insipid. The Gyukatsu Kare (breaded fried beef with curry sauce over rice) was better, but not the ultra crispy panko planks I've had in some places. Maybe it was because I ordered it at the end of the night. The Brazilian brewed cold sake was really good. Could hardly tell the difference from Japanese sake. But, the highlight of the dinner of Sanma Shio--grilled pike mackerel with sea salt. Inexpensive for Sanma, uber fresh, grilled crispy so that you could crunch up the head and tail!
