First impressions: Nice place, big and a good spot to watch a football game. Several TVs with several games on a Sunday afternoon going into evening. The food was really good. I'd give it an 8/10. The burger was cooked well. The service, however... We came in to pick up an online order and walked up to the counter. There wasn't a line, just a few people sitting at the bar. As we stood there waiting, another customer came in after us and sat at the bar. The employee looked up, made eye contact with us, then looked right past us to start talking to the customer who had just arrived behind us. We said we were there for a pickup order twice and were still ignored. My boyfriend finally got the guys attention. He grabbed our order, tossed the receipt and pen onto the counter to sign, then immediately walked away and went back to chatting with the people at the bar. We are visiting for vacation so not regulars and the guy who came in behind us wasn't ethier cause he said it was his first time here. The food was worth ordering, but the lack of basic customer service really took away from the experience. The guy behind the bar talked like he was drunk and high at the same time. read more

My wife and I stopped in for drinks and lunch. We're so glad we did from the friendly service to the cleanliness of the entire bar and grill was amazing. Our food came out hot and quick and our drinks never went empty. Hack's by far is the place to stop into if you're in the area. We will return. read more

Waited for 30 minutes to get our first drink while others that came in after us was getting their second. We had ordered lunch as well and when we told the waitress we were leaving after she finally came back to ask is what we ordered she said ok have a nice day! read more

This was horrible service. I first started by walking into the building and it was very very dark. Then we sat down and the waitress came over and asked us for our drinks and gave us menus. The waitress came back five minutes lasted and asked us what we wanted to eat. I ordered a cheeseburger with fried onions, nothing special and the person I was with ordered a steak wrap. The waitress comes back 20 minutes later and says she pressed the wrong button and they made a steak sandwich instead, and she also said they messed up my order too. So we had waited for another good thirty minutes. The person I was with ended up getting the steak sandwich because they messed up the order again. And my burger came with a huge slice of cheese that tasted like Miller light and three cubes of raw onions on it. Not to mention the burger was very very greasy as well. This was horrible service and none of the workers were wearing masks, or sanitized hands. The person cooking the food wasn't wearing gloves, and didn't even bother to wash or sanitize his hands ether, he want wearing a hair net, or an apron and his shirt looked like it was stained with oil from a car or something. Best tap beer selection in the area. Always something new!! But my favorite thing about Hacks is their burgers. Best in Polk county by far! Also recommend the Gouda Mac and Cheese Bites, yum! read more

Food is always good and the service is too. I work in Milltown so it's convenient. My wife and I have lunch there occasionally and always feel welcome. I don't generally go in the evening because I live quite a distance from town. Not sure why the other reviews were bad, but I guess everyone has a bad day once in a while. read more

Another disappointment. I would rate this a s a ZERO instead of one star but that is not an option. Last weekend we stopped in for dinner and a cocktail. Although the place was busy, it was not that busy, there were three and four people coming and going, serving and cooking behind the bar and in the kitchen. Since no one came to our table after 10 minutes, I went and stood by the opening at the bar to get someone's attention. I did, but it was like "oh, I will get to you when I make my way around the bar two more times and talk with people I know." Standing and waiting another 5 minutes, one of the ladies asked if she could help me, and I received a menu. I checked with the husband as to what he wanted and I went and stood by the bar once more, waiting and waiting while being passed up over and over. Done. I put the menu down and we walked out, Sorry, but if you girls are going to idly chat rather than do your job well then I don't need to support your bar/restaurant. read more
