I recently had a newborn session with Julie for my 2 week old baby girl. Julie was just amazing!…read more She was so gentle with the baby and knew exactly what to do to get some incredibly adorable pictures. I was so nervous going into it that our baby girl was going to cry through the whole session, but Julie truly has a magic touch and was able to get her to sleep immediately, and keep her asleep the entire time we were there. Julie has a variety of props and wraps that she uses throughout the session, so all you have to bring is your baby, and she takes it from there (but she is also open to ideas from her clients and is absolutely willing to work with your preferences or any specific ideas that you might have). She did a variety of poses with the baby, using several different wraps/props/positionings. I was so excited to see the finished products, and was not disappointed when she sent over the finished photo gallery a couple of weeks later. All of the pictures were beyond adorable and beautifully presented. To be honest, I originally chose Julie solely due to her being at a more reasonable price point than some of the other newborn photographers that I had researched. So I was beyond thrilled to find that her professionalism, experience, and quality of work far surpassed the amount that she charged, in my opinion. I will definitely be using her again for any of my future photo sessions! She was just wonderful!

I would have to say Meri Valentin Photography is by far my FAVORITE places to get any type of…read morephotos done. I first met Meri at the baby expo. I had already walked around the place looking at what the other photographers offered, but she was the only one who actually talked to me AND offered to take a baby bump picture! For free! She is one of the most friendliest people I have ever met in a long time. So, after I first got my downloaded baby bump pic from her (which I LOVED), I decided to book my first photo session with her, which was a maternity photo session. Ever since then, I have only gone to her for any of my photographic needs. From newborn sessions, Christmas Sessions, mini-sessions (she does bunny sessions, halloween, santa, etc.). Some may say she is a little pricey, but I think you get what you pay for. I LOVE LOVE LOVE each and every photo I have ever gotten from her. I once had a groupon for one of those little mall photo studios and was definitely unhappy with what I got. So, lesson learned. I recommend her to anyone I know. You don't have to do the full sessions. If she has a mini session, try those out! She really is awesome!

1st of all, they dropped the ball. They told me that my photographer would contact me 45 days…read morebefore my wedding and I had to call them 30 days before my wedding. The gentleman that answered the phone said that he would just "take the job" The photographer was very friendly and and seemed to understand what I was asking for. I was told that I would get a photographer for 8 hours, 800 photos all touched. I received over 1300 photos and only 90 of them were edited. There are hundreds of pictures of my back, my guests back with my arms wrapped around them. He took very few photos of our faces and did not capture very many moments that we could print and use. He did not give anybody any direction and most of the time I didn't even know where he was. During the ceremony he stood in the back of the church. He captured a picture of the entire room and we are very very small and did not capture our faces very well. There are many pictures that would have been fabulous if they weren't shadowed and the lighting was not adjusted by his camera, or if he simply told people to look at him so he could snap the picture. He also did not use the zoom at all. When capturing pictures of our guests and our wedding party, they are making silly faces, not smiling and posed well. There was a few very specific pictures I asked for and he did not execute that very well. I am very disappointed at $1600 I cannot rephotograph my day. At the end of the day I have a flash drive and alot of work to do in order to create a wedding album.

His energy was amazing, never seen a DJ start a song, then sprint from place to place to make sure everything was good. He played a fantastic mix, had everyone dancing, we had a blast! The wedding photographer I originally booked about a year in advance bailed on us, and only a few months before the wedding (when stress levels were sky high, let me tell you!) Sam rescued us. He was very interested in the types of photos I liked, while also maintaining his artistic style. I felt like I got to customize the entire day as the little wedding pinterest junkie I was, while still getting all the professional guidance of a pro. Sam has a great personality for this industry. He is laid back and accommodating, but also very conscientious about providing the best quality and service. My sister, and also one of my bridesmaids, is mentally handicapped and I was concerned with the photography at the wedding because she often strikes a very stiff and unnatural pose when she knows she is being photographed. It's hard for her to hold a good smile for longer than 10 seconds, which is potentially problematic in a photo-documented event like a wedding. Sam was great in getting her to relax and be comfortable in front of the camera. He found a way to get her to smile more naturally, and keep her smile from falling by cuing her right before the shot was taken. I so appreciated the time he took to ease my concerns and ensure all the photos looked great. Once the photos are all edited and ready to go, Sam puts them in an online gallery (password protected) so you can share them with family and friends. I also received a disc containing all the finished photos, so I can use them for years to come. :)

Sam showed incredible dedication to making our day and our memories just as we wanted them. We live in New York and came home to Omaha for our wedding. Choosing the photographer from afar was tricky and we spent more time thinking about how we could or whether we even should decide without having the chance to talk to one in person. But from literally the moment we met him just 4 days in advance of our wedding, we instantly knew we made the right choice. Sam is incredibly thoughtful. He figured out our style and delivered an experience that matched us exactly. He was early for everything, giving a sense of security and peace of mind any nervous couple yearns for. He met his timeline giving us previews in a week, an assorted selection in 3 weeks, and our full set of 600 or so prints in a month mailed to our home in a month. And I won't give away the surprise, but HOW we sent the pictures was so cute, thoughtful, personal, unique...an unexpected touch that was like 4 cherries on top of a delicious experience. And his photographs! Amazing! He knows his equipment and uses it to its full potential. Even under extreme lighting conditions, the pictures are unbelievable. In the direct sun, in the shadowy hallways of an old mansion, and even in some pretty extreme action shots the pictures are flawless. The only thing we regret is that we can't have Sam with us for every big party in our lives...but we sure would if we could! Thank you Sam for the memories! With gratitude..
