A good amount of women from a Facebook mom group I'm in had suggest this office to me. The biggest thing that stood out was the therapy dog, so I said "okay... let's try it. This office has got to be something amazing if they have a therapy dog." I was a bit irritated making the appointment just because I was able to schedule my daughter an appointment myself, her dad had to call to give his social and work info. Come the day of the appointment and that minute thing mattered not. The women who helped me in the front with both checking in and out were just lovely. A great example of how employees show great customer service. I'm sorry, but I do not remember their names. Dr. Kwak has such a gentle tone and very friendly demeanor. He proactively thad me look over his shoulder to make sure I fully understood the things he was talking about when it came to my daughter's dental hygiene, which I really appreciated! A really huge thing that I loved was he asked my daughter permission to pick her up to help move her up in the chair she was laying in. He didn't just go for it and help her without saying anything. He asked her to scoot up, and when he saw she was a bit nervous (her first time and the chair moving kinda made her freeze up juuuuust a little), he asked her if he could pick her up to help her. And when I think about it, I wouldn't have left a bad review had he just helped her without asking, but at the same time, you really don't see people like that taking the initiative to make sure EVERY thing they are doing, the patient is okay with. Very big plus points there. I wanted to save the best part of our experience for last. I'M TALKIN' ABOUT YOU, JUAN!!!!! As I said at the start, I have panic attacks at the dentist before the dentist even walks in, so naturally I was a bit nervous for my daughter. From the second he started assisting us, to the second we left, this person was A+++++++++++ on making my daughter feel 100% comfortable and in turn, that made ME feel 100% comfortable. Even when she got scared from the chair, he stopped everything he was doing to talk it out with her to ensure she was calm again. He gave her kudos and even involved me saying "you're doing awesome! Right, mom?" Because the Lord knows my mind was going 1,000 miles per second. He took the time to describe every piece of equipment to my daughter and my daughter did AMAZING. I will always refer people to this office for pediatric dental work. One billion times thank you to all the staff we had the pleasure of encountering. I am truly in awe of how amazing this place is.

Second visit more $$$ was told I had a heavy bite and they ground down my bridge, it did not fix my issue, 3rd visit more $$$ I was referred to a specialist who found the issue was I needed a root canal and it did not take long to figure it out, and they did not take the time to see if that dentist took my insurance so more money out of my pocket. Either the Texas City Family dentist is rushing through patients and recommending the Periodontal cleaning to keep their people busy and no one there can read an x-ray, either way I was in pain for over 4 months and they billed my insurance for the first visit which I paid for because they were going to charge my insurance more than $400 and it was going to be a special of $75 or $80 they still charged my insurance even after I paid the fees. I have lost all confidence and trust in this dentist office; they play Christian music but does not seem to fit the pattern of how they operate. So be careful to find out how much up front for cash and insurance get a second opinion because I am not sure they are paying attention. My best to everyone I hope this saves someone the frustration I went through.

After I moved to Galveston, I discovered I needed a dentist. I first tried one here on the island…read moreand liked him, but he was so busy he couldn't do the work for three months. I needed something done sooner than that. I asked a local resident I met at the pool and she said, "Go off island. Check out Texas City Family Dentistry; so I did. Let me be up front with you: I don't have dental insurance and I'm scared s---less about dentists. I haven't been for many years because of past experiences and I wouldn't have gone now if I didn't have an issue. I have a real fear of dentist, but, I put on my "Big girl Pants" and off I went. After my first visit to TCFD, I am SO GLAD I DID! These people are AWESOME! Dr. Patterson is so friendly and thorough; and Jessica, the hygienist, is gentle! They took a million x-rays (including using some little pencil type one inside my mouth - never saw that before). We worked up a care plan - I need one filling and deep cleaning. I will get this starting next week in two sessions. The prices were the same as the one on island - no surprise there - but using Care Credit, I can pay over 12 months no interest, so that's perfect. What I did like was instead of paying for my whole mouth to be planed, the hygienist goes through measuring each tooth at the gum line and only planes the ones that need it so I saved some money on one quadrant because it did not need it. Very good for the budget! Also Dr. Patterson took a more conservative approach to the tooth that the other dentist said needed a crown. We are going to try a filling first and only put a crown on if we have to. So I like that. All in all I was very satisfied with the initial consultation. Jessica, the hygienist, could see I was very nervous, so she put some numbing rinse in my mouth. OMG - this is miracle stuff! I hardly felt her digging away at my gums at all during the measuring and partial cleaning. When I come back for deep cleaning, she says this will help me not feel the needles so she can dig deeper. In addition to the extra numbing rinse, there is a tv on the ceiling. They give you a remote and earphones to help distract you - I watched a session of Good Bones! Between the swishy stuff and the tv, I was as relaxed as I've ever been at the dentist. I'll write more when I come back for the drilling and the deep cleaning. AFTER 1ST TREATMENT: I was really nervous about going today to get my work done. I got the swishy stuff right away; but, unfortunately, Dr. Patterson came in right after the swishing so it didn't have as much time to "work." However, I didn't feel the numbing needles at all except for the two to the roof of my mouth. But I was told they're not pleasant no matter what. After I got through that, he let me sit for awhile to numb up. I was excited about getting the TV going to distract me; but, unfortunately, the headphones wouldn't connect with the tv so I had no sound. I can honestly say I didn't "feel" any of the drilling, but my mind plays games with me so I did have some struggles getting through it without the distractions of the tv. We had to pause a couple of times to let me get myself together. But I made it and it honestly didn't hurt. It was only my nerves getting to me. After the filling, they moved me to a room where the tv system worked for the planing. I had no troubles there at all because of the distraction of the tv and Jessica was awesome. She really is a super great hygienist. If you're like me - have a real phobia of dental work - I highly recommend Dr. Patterson and Jessica. I honestly think after going to them for a while, I'll get over a lot of my fears; maybe even all of them! I"m much more optimistic now about keeping my teeth healthy

Thankfully, this office had an early, open next-day appointment. We checked in and the office was warm, colorful, and welcoming inside. The staff were really nice and friendly, and I found it convenient that insurance was already on file. What really prompted this review was Dr. Youseff and her team. My daughter ended up needing an emergency tooth extraction, and she was able to squeeze my daughter in a few hours later. Not only that, but other dentists had quoted us on dental work that would take multiple visits and cost 10 times the amount of costs, to do what Dr. Youseff was able to do in one day. I can tell that aside from being a dentist she is an amazing person and I really appreciate her going over and beyond with her service as a pediatric care provider. Thank you to Dr. Youssef and her team. You're amazing!

I brought my son in to get a space maintainer taken off and they charged my insurance for a cleaning and X-rays, which he never received a cleaning just the x rays. Fast forward to a couple months later I scheduled to get his teeth cleaned for his routine cleaning and was told I would have to pay out of pocket for his cleaning plus X-rays because it had not been 6 months since his last cleaning, I paid it and proceeded with his dental work that needed to get done. The day I scheduled his appointment I paid a deposit and was told they would bill my insurance and I would be responsible for the remaining balance before they would even do the work on him. Day of appointment I paid the remaining balance I owed. A few months later I received a bill in the mail from collections saying I owed them almost $400. I went up to the office to get them to explain where the mistake was and how I owed them more money when I had already paid in full for the work that was done on my child. They acted as if they couldn't figure out where the balance was coming from. So I asked them to print it out and brought it home with me and looked over it. After looking over it I see charges that should have been wrote-offs or paid by my insurance. So I went back up to the office to talk with the accounts manager she was on lunch so I told the front office lady I would be back to speak with her. When I walked back in the office there was six ladies in there all smiling and looking at me, you could tell they were all talking about me, I walked up and the front desk lady said that is her while laughing. the accounts manager was very rude and also couldn't figure out where I was owing them money she said a check I received from insurance for a complete different child should have went towards paying them back, which I don't agree with because his account was over paid by a lot.. there was serval write-offs that I was still being charged and when I brought it to her attention she caught and attitude with me and made up some bullshit excuse about how it was credited... it was not, it was clearly charged to my account instead. Needless to say, I told them I would not be paying them more money since I had already gave them thousands of my hard earned money and walked out..
