My daughter is attending a CSI agent training event through her GRO program. There were 4 stations…read moreto learn about fingerprints, blood, DNA and look at microorganisms under a microscope. Each station is run by a staff member, who explains the concept clearly and in a language appropriate for the age group. The kids assume the role of a secret agent as they learn about the skills of an investigator. At the same time the moderator is providing clues for a mystery they need to solve. At the end, they all get training certificates. They seem to enjoy it.

AKA The Bat Cave…read more.... Came here in October as a recommendation from a colleague. Brought the kids here with the impression that all we were going to do was feed bats. Tickets were purchased in advanced online. This made checking in easy. We walked in and was greeted right away. As we approached the animals in the first room, we were informed of the type of animal and it's name. We got to feed some tortoise here. Into the second room to our surprise we found two pigs that we also got to feed. By far the friendliest pigs ever. They loved to eat but also loved rubs! The final room was the grand finale. Here they had cages with plenty of bats that we also got to feed. The feeding of these bats was truly a one of a kind experience. Aside from the animal smell which was expected as they are animals, we had a fun time! Everyone there was so informative and had great knowledge of every animal and/or reptile we had questions on.

The Meadowlands Environment Center did a nice job…read moreat having vendors displaying wildlife information, children's interactive stations, and items for sale. I was amazed at how many people attended this free event and how many went into the Meadowlands, in order to view the eagles. There were many with professional camera equipment, huge binoculars, and very knowledgeable with ALL of the wildlife throughout the area. During the morning viewing, there were two huge eagles flying. We were told, that they feed on the eels and small animals. As far away as the eagles were perched on the tall transmission towers, they were visible with the naked eye.... that's how large they are. I recommend that everyone attend this Eagle Fest for many reasons. You'll receive a lot of eagle facts, history of the area, and will interact with many avid bird watchers, that left me in awe.

Many newly paved trails to walk along the marshlands, and boardwalk. And very relaxing with stunning views of NYC skyline. We spotted an alligator, 2 eagles, countless egrets, ducks, finches, starlings, hummingbirds, and many other birds I do not exactly know the names of. :) Plenty of parking, dog friendly, beautiful flowers, and absolutely a nature oasis for birding. We enrolled our 5yo after the 2020-2021 school year, he had struggled terribly with remote…read morekindergarten. He is now in first grade and holding his own. Kumon has been everything we hoped. It provided him a safe after school environment to be out in public and with other kids, which was critical after the isolation of the remote school year. It helped him develop independence and organization - pride in his work. And the program works academically. He blows through his school math! As a parent you have to be committed to being a Kumon participant everyday, but it's been worth it.
