Not only are the purchases supporting a great cause, the items are great deals. The names of the merchandise on Facebook are so clever. They restock the floors quickly. I just wish they had better hours. Monday-Friday day shift employees can't get their at all during the week. We miss all of the good stuff. read more

They carry gifts, candles, women's accessories, home furnishings, found objects and modern home décor. Some of which you can actually find at an Anthropologie (and at the same prices.) You'll find The Cook's Shop next door, which rivals them in front window display. We stopped in for some Christmas shopping and they had a lot of the mercury glass that's seen everywhere-ornaments, tabletop trees, etc. Also holiday candles and small feather trees. The only con was a woman's screaming child that the employee (I believe to be the owner) did not really help to console. Screaming, as in, falling on the floor screaming. Screaming, as in, turn your head for the pitch will make you pass out screaming. I'm thinking from their conversations they were all related. Sadly, this was very distracting and somewhat disappointing. This place is nice but a Marietta oddity in it's aesthetic and pricing. Hopefully they thrive in a town riddled with antiques shops.

On our visit to Beltone, my nervous father and I felt really comfortable and confident, thanks to the young lady behind the counter. I wish I got her name! She would have said NO, because for an 85-year old lady, change is unwelcome. But her computer savvy son insisted, so off we went! Service was quick and perfect. All the data got copied, and the staff even offered to install some of the programs Mom used. The shop is well stocked, located in a nice part of town, and the staff and owner are personable.

Or the company, too. The wine tastes better if I am with close friends. Favorite Things is a cozy shop nestled among a line of similarly charming shops near the Ohio and Muskingum rivers in downtown Marietta. My wife and I love to start our river crawl at the antiques shop by the Ohio River, and gradually, shop by shop, make our way down Front Street until we can rest our feet and sink our teeth into a block of fudge at Favorite Things. Accompanied by fresh coffee, naturally. Honestly I would never eat fudge except here. I think it's a Marietta tradition, or should be. Make a note, whomever is keeping track of such things!
