We actually grabbed a few items from various booths and headed to the checkout. Each booth has it's own number so they can provide the payments on the booth others at the counter. We need to go back and check into all of the booths, if you go here... be sure to have lots of time to look around. We had spent enough, so we didn't make it through the whole mall! You have a couple of days to pick up your item if you can't that day, so don't worry about that part. We returned the next day to load the stove and as we had it in the truck, someone came up to ask if we had a booth and were selling it! Back off buddy.. this treasure is ours. Lol It's a mix of the usually junk, some good crafted items (usually wood) and real antiques. I docked a star for having to struggle to load stuff up. There is no help here, you are completely on your own.

Oops I did it again!…read more I love antique clocks (and antique/ vintage items in general) even though I dont have anywhere to put them all out in my house, but yesterday, I picked up this beautiful antique mahogany clock. I believe that it may be a Junghans German shelf clock. (Possibly a "Biedermeier style"?) clock with a dark reddish mahogany case and a beveled glass door. It has a wonderful deep toned strike on the hour and half hour. I found this gem at Second & Main and it's sister store Apparitions Vintage Village which is owned by an old high school friend Robin Sowers. The store is well organized compared to a lot of thrift shops, and you can tell the staff works hard to keep things moving and the racks full. The clothing is easy to browse, and there's always a surprising mix of home décor, furniture, books, and those random little finds you didn't know you needed until you saw them. One of my favorite things is the pricing -- you can walk in with a small budget and still leave with a whole haul. It's also a great place for resellers, DIYers, and anyone who loves giving items a second life. Yes, like any thrift store you have to be willing to dig a little -- but that's part of the fun. When you score that perfect piece for a few dollars, it's totally worth it. Bonus points for supporting a place that gives back to the community while helping keep perfectly good items out of landfills. Pro tip: Go often -- the best stuff never stays long!
