This is a pretty good Restore store (Akron one is the goat.) But be aware of what this store has and what it doesn't have. Their selection of wood is nearly non-existent unless you want garbage trim. However, they definitely have a better selection of used tools than other Restore stores. Their selection of knickknacks is also probably the best and it's actually organized well. Another GAF Store. Drove by, lights are on, employees are inside the store, the open sign is illuminated I get to the store and they are locked up. Some woman on the other side, bears her teeth and smiles at me, and just shakes her head no mouthing the words that they are closed. I'm getting pretty tired of crazy unpredictable hours and confusing situation's from retailers. Needless to say, I won't be coming back to the store. read more

Specifically the one in Kent is over priced. The upholstery style furniture is always worn out. The wall art is probably 3 times more expensive than it was when new. The do have a decent selection of miscellaneous tools and parts for homes such as windows. It depends on what you need. read more

If you're buying furniture at all, go here! They have new stuff every single day, and it's at a very good price. Depending on quality, you can get an even better deal. Couches for $80, recliners for $50, as well as dining room table sets and other various items needed for your new place. The Habitat for Humanity ReStore of Portage County is a great little shop to have in our community. Donated furniture, appliances, housewares, tools, fixtures and really any odds and ends from the "home maintenance" category can be thrifted here. This store was previously in Ravenna and, more recently, the former site of Kent Hardware before moving in to it's current location next to University Plaza Theaters. Three star rating because while the quality and variety of merchandise is often hit or miss, every once in a while you'll stumble on some really great finds or exactly what you need (like a bow saw)! BONUS HINT: If you are in the market for old school TV cabinets (aka the pinnacle of entertainment room 'success' in the 90s) then the Kent ReStore is THE place for you. ;) Sometimes I felt certain items were overpriced, while other times I thought I was getting a steal. Since the proceeds support the non-profit organization, building/repairing homes for those in need, I never minded paying a bit more than I thought an item might be worth. read more

I love this place. Since i know how to refinish furniture, this has been a treasure! There is always something worth getting and at a lower cost than brand new somewhere else. The best part is that they are willing to negotiate on price. The first time i was here, I found a pair of matching twin bed headboards, foot boards and railing for my sons. There was no cost, so they said, name your price! I got both beds and a desk for my oldest son all for $50! I definitely recommend coming here first before anywhere else! read more

I love going here! I try to stop in weekly. There is always something worth considering. I think that it's awesome that everything that they have is donated by people. One mans junk is another mans treasure. Many times I will go here before I would go to the big box stores just in case they might have what I need and usually they do. The prices are always great and if I have ever thought that the price was too high I just ask and usually they drop it to fit my budget. Great deals & great finds that have been donated. However staff is not very friendly or helpful. 1 man helped me (small 23 year old girl 110 pounds) carry my 5 small pieces of furniture to my car. Cashier very rude & Cranky to people that seemed to be unfamiliar to him (not regulars). read more

Compared to the Restore near Punderson & Akron, this location does not offer as many goods but I always find the staff to be incredibly friendly/helpful. You can find some really amazing deals here but it is first come first serve so make sure you drive a truck or large van because it wont be there the next day! read more

I frequently shop the restore mostly looking for home building items such as doors, windows, tile. ETC ETC. Overall a pretty decent selection some prices are high and there is no negotiation in prices. In fact I brought it to one of the employees not the volunteers attention and they told me to go shop at the big box store over a 5 dollar item. Would not match and it was for a used item to boot. Makes me wonder if this is truly a Non Profit store. Dont think iLL be doing much shopping here from now on, better off driving to canton and going to quote unquote real thrift stores. Very upsetting and borderline disturbing. All over a few dollars they have eliminated roughly 500 dollars per year intake from me alone. I will be donating cash from now on the the Salvation Army or a local Church. SMH. All over a 5 dollar item. Sorry. read more
