Great little find near the center of Madrid! And service was fast, which isn't always the case with Ethiopia food. Highly recommend.

On our last night in Madrid, we wanted to try something different as we were tired of Spanish tapas…read moreand italian food. We love Ethiopian food and came here for an early dinner. We came a bit early as we had train to catch and there was no one at the restaurant. There was only one man who was a bit lost on what to do as they may not be expecting dining guests even though the restaurant was open. We asked for 'tej' - honey wine and it was good. not the best we have had though. we opted for vegetarian combo for one person and entree of Misir Wot ( red lentils in berber sauce). It took about 25-30 minutes for the food to be cooked but it was well worth the wait. All the vegetables had a great flavor and the injera bread was really good. We were server only one injera and had to ask for more as it was not enough for the food. the misir wot is always a favorite and it was really good here. We were stuffed by the food and injera and I wish I had enough room for baklava. The service was a bit slow but we enjoyed our meal. There is wi-fi available and you need to ask for the password.

We ordered the vegetarian plate for two persons (37€), and we each had a couple of beers to go with…read moreit (which increased our bill to a total of 47€). The flavors were really good, and the injeri had a nice lightness to it compared to some others that I've had before. When we got there we were quite hungry, and when we left we were completed sated. If you like Ethiopian food, I'd definitely recommend this place (note: we did not try any of their meat dishes, so I can't speak to how well those are prepared). NOTE: our server did not speak any English, but if you ask for an "English/Ingles menu", they will give you one.
