We've tried our best to attempt going to CSP, but every single time something came up; ridiculous! So, finally in late May 2026 we were able to go. There are many trails for equestrians, mountain bikes, and pedestrians; some for all, some for one activity. Since we had all 3 children with us we decided to go on the Nature Trail which is for pedestrians only. Parking was slightly confusing because there weren't that many cars around, but we found a safe spot and from there walked to the trail entrance; it wasn't too far. There are restroom/shower facilities which were clean. Due to my 3-year-old thinking that she's invincible and running off all the time I leashed her for the first time. It worked out fairly well and she didn't fall off any "steep" parts of the trail. I was ready for the double or even nasty looks, but for the first time ever on a hike we did not encounter another soul. Not sure if that was eerie or fantastic. The reason being that the weather threatened rain for this day and I think that is what kept most people out of the woods. It probably did sprinkle a bit, but there was so much green foliage covering the trail from above that we heard the drops falling, but never became wet! Amazing! Almost an amazing Amazon rainforest in truth. The humidity was incredibly thick and you could notice the difference off the trail very quickly. We kept joking that we were hiking in a rainforest in South America or Africa. The trail itself has ups and downs but nothing too crazy. It partially follows a creek, the name I have already forgotten of (thankx brain fog) and Google maps ain't helpful either. Sigh! Anyway, beautiful trail thick with trees. My son found a tortoise that he kept insisting on was a turtle so that was cool. There's also a lake available for boating and fishing I believe, but I don't think it's desirable for swimming. Would definitely love to come back some day to check out other trails and activities. I mean for our urban Upstate area this state park is huge and offers so much. I read they also offer equestrian meetups or the like. And yes, as the name Yelp page suggests (although I'm trying to get it changed to just Croft State Park), there is a campground available as well; the cooler months would be ideal. The foliage is lush this late spring and provides plenty of shade. Lawsons Fork Creek is to your left for about half the way then switches to the right. White's Mill Shoals has a nice waterfall left, but there is nothing left of the mill. There were plenty of joggers, dog walkers, and cyclists on this trail, so it gets busy. I'm not sure how long it is, but it took us a little longer to get to one end due to stopping and taking photos than it did on the way back. Altogether, it took us an hour and 45 minutes from beginning to end. If you become hungry, there are a few restaurants accessible from the trail. It is easy to traverse, even for the elderly and very young. We also saw a heron flying over the falls, but I wasn't quick enough with my camera to catch a photo. Overall, a very nice trail for walking, but unfortunately, there is road noise and you can't get into full-on nature mode. Still wish this was closer to us as I would frequent it more often. Always glad to go on a new adventure with my kiddos. Happy yelping!

I had booked a hot air balloon ride for my boyfriend's birthday 4 months in advance, I stayed in…read morecommunication with other Palmetto Sun Balloons for the duration of the four months but when it came to the actual day our hot air balloon ride was supposed to occur, Palmetto Sun Balloons failed to deliver. We were supposed to meet at 4:00 for our ride and arrived to an empty field, only after I tried to REPEATEDLY call the number from the website and emailed the company did they finally decide to let me know that they were having vehicle issues, if I am being 100% honest, this did not feel like the full truth and I believe the company forgot they had a hot air balloon ride scheduled for that afternoon despite me having booked it four months in advance! They offered to reschedule our ride to 6:30 the next morning which was suspicious considering they said their truck was giving them issues, I doubt any mechanics would be open on a Saturday night! I completely understand having truck issues, but it would have been nice if they reached out to me rather than me reaching out to them only to find that they weren't going to be able to perform a service I paid for! After being pushed from pillar to post I finally got tired and asked for a refund which was extremely disappointing because my boyfriend and I live in Columbia and had to book a hotel for the weekend specifically for the hot air balloon ride! I got a full refund and they were decent and nice enough but grossly unprofessional in their handling of business! Definitely would not recommend Palmetto Sun Balloons to anyone as they are unreliable, unpredictable, and unprofessional! I would prefer a business to be honest with me rather than feeding me what felt like lies!!!! If zero stars was an option, that's what I'd pick!!
