Dude is a rockstar. We live in San Diego but got married in Santa Fe. He emceed and played our playlist at the Botanical Garden, then drove over to the hotel fro our reception. He took it upon his own to scout both venues several days before our wedding so he would be familiar with the layout. I told him to stick mostly to our playlist but if the party died down to play his own stuff that would get everyone back on the dance floor. He did just that. His pricing was more affordable than several other quotes as well. 10/10 would recommend. read more

We found DJ H.EM.P. on a DJ website and reached out to him for our wedding based on his strong reviews and reasonable pricing. Evan was a great addition to my daughters 16th bday party. He came out 2 weeks ahead of time to survey the area so I could get it set properly. His lights were a great addition and everyone was on the dance floor all night! We also got the karaoke and that was a huge hit with the teens. read more

Hector Evan Mendoza is one of the most professional vendor's I have ever have had the pleasure of doing business with. He was our DJ at our wedding ceremony and reception aboard MCRD San Diego. He was on time, on point, and had the utmost caring customer service. He responded timely to all of our concerns and was very flexible on what we wanted. We were changing programs on the day of and he was still able to accomodate and played songs on request. Highly recommended Dj Evan will not let you down in pricing or service. read more

Excellent DJ and MC. I will definitely hire him again. Very professional, timely, provided and set up all the equipment, didn't require much instruction. We just advised him of a few songs we like and he knew exactly how to mix two genres and keep everyone happy and even dancing at a non-dancing event. Worth the money, GREAT VALUE! Great voice for MC as well. Can't say enough about DJ Evan. Hire him! You will not be disappointed. read more

We hired DJ Evan for our wedding this past weekend and it was a fantastic experience. He and his crew were organized, on-time, and did such a great job of taking control and announcing everything throughout the night that I/we didn't have to worry about a thing. We met with him about 2 weeks before our ceremony to go over song selections/timelines/etc., and even though we didn't even have all of this figured out yet he knew the questions to ask and helped us figure it out. Communication was excellent through the entire process, and it really helped us enjoy the day/night. He setup sound and lighting in 3 different areas, making the whole experience seamless for our guests and perfect for our wedding. DJ Evan - great timing during the Ceremony, we missed the Cocktail hour music due to photos but we heard it was great, and the reception was an absolute blast! THANK YOU!!! read more

My wife and I were EXTREMELY impressed with DJ Evan's dj'ing services for our wedding! When we first began communicating with him, he was very responsive and thorough in his responses. Once we signed on, we used his online portal to pick most of the songs that we wanted to see played at the ceremony, during cocktail hour, during dinner, and during dancing. On a personal level, my wife and I really like yacht rock, country music, current pop hits, and late 2000s hip-hop music. Somehow DJ Evan was able to blend all of these tastes into a seamless playlist. Not an easy task! Everyone has a blast (especially during the dancing part of the night) and we were thoroughly impressed with DJ Evan. We would recommend his services to any of our friends getting married if he's available for your wedding date! read more

DJ Evan was referred to us by a friend who is also a DJ by profession. We hired Evan to do a backyard birthday party and he was fantastic! Quite a few of our guests made comments to me about how good he was and that they had enjoyed the choice of music. I would highly recommend DJ Evan to anyone who is reading this review. Evan made the process very smooth from the start by communicating well, outlining what he was going to provide, asking for all of the important details, understanding our crowd and their musical preferences which included a "do not play" list and put together a great playlist. He made sure to ask if explicit language would be a problem for our crowd, he brought his own lighting and shade to go along with the equipment, JUST FANTASTIC FROM START TO FINISH. read more

I have yet to use the service, but I wanted to give him a five star because I sent him a request for a quote and he responded almost immediately. He reserved the date for us and gave us a reasonable quote. We ended up going a different direction, but his courtesy and genuine wanting to help us out is tremendously appreciated. Thank you sir and we look forward to working with you in some future event! read more

Planning a wedding means having to reach out to many vendors for estimates and then deciding who you want for that service. Originally, my fiance and had wanted a DJ to perform for our brunch wedding reception. Evan was always quick to respond to emails, text messages, and took the time to speak me with me over the phone, to discuss my needs. Other vendors took a long time to get back to me or never responded to my request. I was impressed with his professionalism throughout the process, which speaks volumes about Evan. Although, my fiance and I ended up going in a different direction (we decided to have live music instead), Evan was ever gracious. If I had a dinner time reception, I would definitely be using Evan, without a doubt. His prices are beyond reasonable compared to other DJ's (when I was actually able to get a quote from others!). read more

Evan was amazing! He DJed our wedding this weekend and not only was he reasonably priced, he went above and beyond to make the day special. He responded to emails and texts in a timely manner and was very professional. We provided him with a list of songs as well as style we wanted to be played and he kept that dance floor packed all night. Would highly recommend using Evan for a DJ for any celebration. He did awesome MCing as well. read more

DJ Evan was a great addition to my sons 18th and husbands 40th birthday party! We had our DJ cancel 2 days before the party, but thankfully Evan was available. We requested DJ Evan to be our dj for our wedding and he was great! He is very professional, well equipped and aware of our needs for our special day. He has a great voice. During our reception, he did all announcements with perfection and he kept everyone on their feet dancing! He was awesome! DJ Evan worked my sister's wedding this past Saturday night and KILLED IT. I found him on Thumbtack and was pleasantly surprised with how well he did. He truly was a hit! I highly recommend hiring him for any event that you want to take up a notch. He showed up on time, played great music, knew when to pump it up so we could get down on the dance floor but was also conscious of the kids in the crowd so he was selective in his song choices. I was very happy with his price too. He truly did a wonderful job! I would hire him again in a heartbeat! read more

DJ Evan was incredibly professional from the first meeting thru the wedding day. He was always punctual and prepared each time we met. Upon our first meeting he had me walk through the details of my wedding day. He took copious notes and asked questions about things I hadn't even thought about. He was great in explaining about his equipment and how it would be setup and used for the ceremony and reception. He clearly explained pricing and the details about his services. To prepare for my wedding, DJ Evan had us meet at the event site so that he could familiarize himself with the outside space and banquet room. He even met with the hotel catering manager so that he knew who she was and so that he could ask any questions that he had about the space and the day. DJ Evan also agreed to speaking with and did speak with my officiant and my wedding day point of contact and friend to assure that everything ran smoothly and according to my itinerary. He also provided me worksheets to help me choose the songs I wanted for all the moments of the ceremony and reception. These worksheets were incredibly helpful and made it easy to not forget anything for which I needed a song. On my wedding day and during the ceremony, there was some feedback from the microphone for about a hot second. My husband and I hardly noticed, but DJ Evan was very apologetic and even took a dollar amount off of the cost of his services. This was a very kind and professional thing to do for us. DJ Evan did such a great job at the wedding and working with my friend/point of contact. She even was so impressed with him that she wants to hire him for her Fourth of July party! I am so thankful that I found him for my wedding too! read more

Today, 5 April 2017, was my Navy retirement ceremony and DJ Evan made the occasion a success. His professionalism and attention to detail were key in the flag passing detail and his participation throughout the ceremony. His pricing is lower than his competition but the quality is FIVE STARS FOR SURE. Thank you for the excellent service DJ Evan. V/r LCDR Henry G. United States Navy (Retired) read more

DJ Evan was an excellent choice for being a DJ + karaoke host at a teenager's birthday party. He was on top of things, provided tips ahead of the party, made sure he got the playlists ready ahead of time, landed up early on the day of the party to have all the setup complete before the party started. The ~30 teenagers had a blast, and several of the parents wanted to get hold of DJ Evan for their own kids' birthday/graduation parties... we could not recommend him enough - he's fantastic!!! read more

Thank you so much Evan! You were thoughtful, very professional, and you responded very quickly to all my many texts and emails. You were also quite patient with my lack of skills in technology! But most of all, you were very very fun! My event ranged from 85 year olds to 2 year olds and everyone had a wonderful evening. My only regret is that the party had to end! Thank you again for a wonderful, memorable, fun evening. Sincerely, Regina Mattis p.s. I want to especially thank you for the attention you gave to the dinner hour music. My father spent an hour looking up songs on his Kindle and writing them down. And you played each and every one. So, again, I thank you. read more

A year ago today, DJ Evan made our reception dreams come true. He was, of course, very professional, but I was most impressed by his calm and soothing demeanor. That was needed because most of the day we were in a complete euphoric fog. Unfortunately, we totally forgot that we gave him over 100 songs (not smart on our part). He kindly let us know, that our 2 first dance songs were too long and that we needed to choose only one, in which we did. As you could imagine our first dance was beautiful. I'll spare you all the details so I'll fast forward to the end of our reception. DJ Evan took notice that we were the only people left in the ballroom at that moment. He saw a beautiful opportunity and took it. He played our second first dance song. DJ Evan was very much engaged in order to recognize the beautiful opportunity. He executed a professional opportunity and gave us a private, magical moment. Yes, the first dance was beautiful however, our last private dance was completely priceless. DJ Evan, thank you a million times over for that moment. read more
