I'm not sure where to start. First, I will say it's cash only so come prepared. Or do as we did, and go up to the gas station and use the ATM, worth it. Next. Let's start with the atmosphere. I feel like I just walked into my mom's kitchen and am treated like it, too. They are friendly, matter-of-fact, charismatic neighbors. The locals eating here were sociable and giving us a good conversation. A review from 2004 calls this place "the little place in the woods." And that is the perfect description. It is what some would call a "hole in the wall." It's what I call best damn BBQ I've ever had. I had the pulled pork sandwich. The bbq sauce is savory, sweet with a dash of a spice. The beans. I always wonder why beans are such a big deal. No longer. They were flavorful and delicious! The coleslaw was better than my grandmother's recipe. And now we get to the fried pie. Oh my. I had an out of the world experience. We shared one piece then procedes to order 2 more. The dough was fluffy, flaky, crispy, and soft. All-in-one. We choice not to sprinkle with cinnamon sugar because I'm not a cinnamon person, but I think I would've been a changed woman. I can't wait to come back on a Tuesday for ribs!

BBQ alert! Melt in your mouth beef, tender pork, and a caramelized smoky sauce. Add some potato salad made by angels, slaw, or life-changing beans, and you are set. Until dessert, when you will want to reward yourself with some serious fried pie (10 flavors). There is a wood pile out back and fragrant meaty aromas fill the air from the smoke. Bring cash, no credit cards accepted. This place is the hidden BBQ gem you've been waiting to discover.

This is a great find in a residential area. Limited seating so get there early. Good portions. The fried pies are yummy. Ribs on Tuesday only

A nice little hole in the wall mom and pop shop that serves quality food with a smile. True its located in a neighborhood and space is very limited. But the place is definitely worth a try. Next time I go there I want to try a fried pie.

today was my first visit to HB's having lived in LR for 50 years. i have heard RAVE reviews for decades. i studied the fact that RIBS were offered on Tuesday only. at 11:40am i arrived and was ignored by the woman who runs the restaurant. she chose to wait on people who came after me, first. she is friendly but sassy as a result of the sloppy way the place is run. They had no ribs, as advertised, after all. Tuesday. unbelievable really. prepare more if you are running out an hour after you open! as a second choice, i ordered a bbq sandwich. she brought a bun, messy with sauce and meat wrapped in a piece of wax paper and sat it in front of me. appauling. i regret having driven to 72209 for this mess. not even great flavor. the sauce tasted like heinz from the grocery. i realize that some LR folks will want to fight after this review but this is exactly what i experienced and i would not recommend it at all. much better bbq in town.

Food was OK. Chicken and dumplings are offered on each option. Beans have meat in them, wish it were just beans though.

The staff here is extremely rude, the service is awful, and they only accept cash. Avoid!

Not the cleanest dining area, but always the first place I go when in town. Their sandwiches are the best ever. Fried pies are good too.

Whole Hog Cafe is a great spot for southern barbecue with many sauce options and delicious sides! There is plenty of seating to enjoy a great meal. The baked beans are delicious, the potato salad creamy, and the pulled pork was tender. All of the staff were friendly, the food came out quickly, and the atmosphere was rustic with pig statues everywhere.

And the third is the smell of smoked meats wafting in the air. All those things combined and you just know you're in for a great meal. THE FOOD. - The Ultimate Platter | It's 3 meats, 4 ribs, and 3 sides. I went with pulled pork, brisket, and cheddar jalapeño sausage. For the sides, I went with mashed potatoes, collard greens, and coleslaw. Of course, all the meats were incredibly tender and full of flavor. Try their BBQ sauces, they're all tasty in their own way. As for the sides, all great, but it's the mashed potatoes for me; little chunks of potato and slightly tangy. - Banana Pudding | Soft wafers and creamy banana pudding... get it. The perfect dessert. THE DRINK. - Sweet Tea | Sweetness without the iced tea bitterness. Love it. THE PARKING. Surface lot, free parking. No problems finding a place to park. THE RETURN? It's been years since my first visit, and this second visit was just as great as the first. Just like my first visit, I ended up buying their BBQ sauces to travel back with. It can be a little tricky trying to pack these up into a suitcase because they're not in sealed jars, but they do cover the squeeze bottle opening with saran wrap and twist the spout on top of the saran wrap, if that makes sense.

Guys on the line were engaging and hospitable. They even threw in a free (and delicious) Oreo Chocolate pudding when I casually mentioned it was my birthday. I'm from Texas, so I'm a BBQ snob. Their brisket was just as good, if not better than the best in Texas. No knife required. And the leftovers (we bought too much) were excellent the next day reheated in the oven. Wright's is without a doubt the best BBQ I've ever had in LR, and top 5 all-time for me, which is saying a lot. Can't wait for the West Little Rock location. Great job! Keep on smokin'! - TFG

They did me right with Wrights! I was getting my food to go but the atmosphere was chill a big screen with sports on, a bunch of picnic tables for seating would've been cool to sit down. They have various options on the menu, you can get a two or three plate, sandwiches, special options, or meats by the pound! I went with the brisket, ribs, chicken, an original link, sides of deviled egg potato salad, coleslaw, and collards. I wanted some turkey but it sold out right as I approached to order. Here are my review: Brisket: tender, well seasoned Ribs: really good, tender but not fall off the bone. Just how I like it. Chicken was moist and good. Link: they forgot it. But shout out to Bo he offered to take care of me! Coleslaw: it was good Green: made with vinegar how I like them. Potato salad was good as well I would definitely come back to this place.
