We chose time pay up front and got a military discount also. We were under the impression that we would get a larger return due to getting a house, but we were told why we didn't. Our first appointment with Maureen at reliable tax inc was last year when she filed our taxes for…read morethe first time. When she filed our taxes, she incorrectly misspelled my first name as "Phillip" and not "Philip" which created an issue with tax returns. At our tax appointment this year, we asked Maureen to correct the misspelling in my name and she replied, "it doesn't matter, they only look at the first 3 or 4 letters", and made NO changes. About 3 weeks later, we got notification from the State that our banking financial institute was denying our state refund deposit because of my name misspelling AND Maureen had left out a number of our bank account. Needless to say, we have been on the phone for hours/days with Federal, State and our bank trying to correct this because when we called Maureen to ask for help fixing this, her response was "it was already filed". That is 4 strikes in only 2 tax preps. IMO, multiple mistakes were made by Maureen with no help to fix them. We do not recommend this service to anyone.

I wanted to be safe and have a professional prepare my taxes. My sister ( who lives in another state), had her taxes done - same inheritance income, was NOT taxed on one of our inheritances. Thank God my sister and I compared notes. Maureen made a huge error that would have cost me about $10k. I've contacted her, her office, her Facebook page with only one response from her. I provided proof that she made a mistake and simply wanted her to fix and amend my return. I have gotten zero response. No returned calls, no returned emails ect. As stated on her Facebook page, fair pricing - far less than what the big chains charge. Well- I guess you get what you pay for. I am so shocked and appalled that I've gotten no response in 2 weeks. She cashed my check that I paid for the same day she did my return. She been paid and I was almost out $10k. Now I have another accountant amending my return. Which is more money and a ton more of my time. Stay away! Your money will be taken and you'll never hear back until next year when she's ready to collect your next check. I have contacted the IRS- and my attorney. I do not wish this undue stress on anyone! The only thing I can think is that something shady is being done. Sad!
