Unfortunately I wasted 4+ hours being referred to other members of the team, showing up for appointments that they were meant to call and cancel and being told by everyone no problem we can help then an hour+ in admitting that they couldn't. I wasted so much time with H&R Block with being not being honest, telling me they are only part time etc that we had to file an extension. Even had babysitters and they cancelled the appointment once we arrived. Get it together. read more

They are overcharging by a lot to file in person versus online , while there is no difference in the process. It is the exact same steps I had uploaded all my documents online and the tax pro did not do much on her part. In addition I had to let them know of few points like what should the filing status for my scenario and what form to fill for my electric vehicle purchase. I was charged $425. I am so angry. I called in advance and inquired about the prices for a 1099. I was told it would be approximately $150, and it depended on what I owned. Since I own absolutely nothing I had my taxes done by Fun. Yes, that is his name Fun. He spent about 30 minutes doing my taxes and then told me it was $500 minus my $40 first-time client coupon/ discount. I was shocked. I never paid that much money for a 1099 even when I owned two cars a house and 5 Acres of property and work from home. When I told him it was too much money and I was shocked that he charged me that much, he handed me my stuff and basically told me to leave. I will never ever go to H&R Block. read more

Horrible experience with Michael Fiscina. He doesn't work during the summer. My family swore by him, so I gave him a shot. Bad idea. He's not very personable, and more importantly he made errors while filing my taxes. It took almost 4 months to receive my tax return, because I had to make up for his errors. It also cost me just as much to file as I got in my return. I'm definitely 100% using a different business to take care of my taxes next year, or I will file myself. read more

I went to H & R Block for assistance with my taxes this year. I had 3 meetings with them. Each time I went, I was told I was going to get a refund of approximately $3000. Each time I went I asked them to look over my taxes to make sure they were correct. Each time I was told they were. I filed my taxes and just got my refund check last week for about $200. That's a big difference. So I went back over there to find out what went wrong. They could not find me in their system. That should have been a big tip off that they were incompetent. Finally I was able to meet with the consultant who told me originally I was going to get a $3000. refund. After "plugging" my information into their system it was determined that the consultant had made an error in the original calculation and the refund I got was correct. No apology, no taking responsibility for their error. The money we were supposed to get for a refund was used for a vacation - money we don't have because they made a mistake on my taxes. On my way out the door, the manager said to me she was glad it all worked out. I looked at her and said nothing worked out you made a mistake and I paid the price. I will be reporting this to the SEC and the AZ Attorney General. My advice to you - have someone else do your taxes and never, EVER trust H & R Block. Ever. Had my taxes done here 2 was ago. First off, the guy handling my return, Richard Burt, was completely clueless on how to do a 1099 for self employment. In fact, another associate had to do 1/2 of my return for him. Took forever! Then I inform him that I want to do the anticipation loan that they offer through Metabank, so I could get some car repairs done. .He tells me it'll take 24hrs to get before I get an email or text about it confirming approval. This was a Friday. Saturday comes.. nothing. Sunday comes..nothing, again! I call the office on Monday around 1pm, and I speak with Richard Gallup, who is some sort of manager/supervisor. He looks at my info, tells me he doesn't see anything regarding the loan with my file. He says my guy is out to lunch and he'll have him call me when he gets in. 2:30 rolls around, and I called again. This time I get Richard Burt on the phone, I remind him who I was, and apparently he's already heard I had called complaining. I'm not so sure this man should be doing people's taxes. First he reminds me, that he told me it would take 24 hrs and asks again, am I sure I haven't received my text or email notification. I assure him that I am quite sure, and remind him that it has been longer than 24hrs. Then he actually admitted that he DID NOT even submit for it, even though we had discussed it, he gave me an Emerald Card, explaining that it will be loaded on to it, and yet still managed not to submit for it! So not only did he NOT put in for my loan, he submitted for my whole return to go to this Emerald Card. This is NOT what I had wanted. I have a bank account, I did not need an alternative way to receive my refund! When I remind him angrily that we had discussed the loan, he acknowledges it. I say, "If we talked about it, and I said that's what I wanted, why wasn't it processed" His answer... "things happen" Really?! Totally unacceptable! I paid $300 to have a professional do my taxes.. certainly that is not what I got! He forgot also, to ask about the child support and alimony I receive, which I have always reported. I should have the fee I paid this joker refunded, due to the shear neglectful preparation of my return. Next year, I'm doing my own taxes. This place is a joke. BEWARE! read more

I have been a loyal customer of H and R for years to get my taxes done. This year I received a letter from the IRS stating they never received my state payment. I immediately called the branch and drove to the branch to speak with a representative as payment to the state was done while at the office during tax filing. Sat down with the advisor and she immediately told us that WE needed to call the IRS and handle it ourselves without any guidance to help us resolve, and that she wasn't able to do anything. We showed her proof of payment in which was processed at the branch and questioned why "she wasn't able to do anything". She then stated that she would call the IRS to get this handled as I am assuming she just wanted to say what we wanted to hear. She said she would call us in a couple days to follow up with us after she stated she would call the IRS the following business day. A week goes by and no phone call at all. Called the branch a week later and she stated she never mentioned that she would call the IRS to help us clear up the issue. At that point, I realized that H and R block will only be helpful when they want your money and new clients. Unfortunately due to this, H and R block has lost another client. I would highly suggest looking elsewhere. read more

Wish I didn't even have to give this shit hole one star. Got my taxes done over a month ago received my state refund still no federal. Look at my papers and the account and routing number on my federal is wrong. Weird it was correct under my state but completely different when there's a large amount of money involved? I go in they tell me some bull shit lie, the next day I get a call saying their bank has my refund check I call back to see why the fuck it isn't being deposited to my account or mailed to my address on file & they tell me there is no file for me that I am not a client. Why my refund wasn't deposited to my account like we had set up in the first place is beyond me. I go in today & the guy helping me has the nerve to question if I'm lying about not receiving my refund. He tells me he needs time to work on my case. Of course it's not their money that's missing so they take their sweet time. I have never been so unhappy with a company or had this many problems when filing my taxes. First time trying H&R block ha definitely my last. read more
