He made a brief apology for being rude, and then I could hardly even get out an "ok" before he hung up on me. Listen, I get it - tax season is a busy time for a CPA. We're all human and we get stressed. However, in my mind that is no excuse to be so dismissive toward a potential client. Hire an assistant to answer phones, offer to take my name and number, or at least just don't be so condescending in your tone. In the 20 seconds I was on the phone with him he left a horrible impression. I can understand how other reviewers felt his demeanor was abrasive. Given this terrible first experience I will never use Baker CPA.

When I asked why she said I don't know but did say she is not a tax person. This note was in my file. I asked for a phone call back and nobody bothered to call me. Here it is May and can't get someone to call back. Use this company 4 years in a row and always something with them and Colorado. Complete lack of integrity and honesty towards a longtime customer. I am currently selling my home…read moreand as part of the home inspection it was found that the roof had hail damage and would need to be replaced. I reviewed my policy and noticed that there was now a 1% wind and hail deductible added to the regular flat deductible. I called Adams office, he was not available, but one of his staff offered to answer my question. She said that the 1% did not take affect until my April 2025 renewal. Because the storm took place the year prior it would fall under the old flat $1000 deductible. This was clearly great news, saving me thousands in costs. In order to make sure I heard it correctly I even called back 5 minutes later and had this confirmed again. My wife and I signed the inspection objection from the buyers BASED ON THIS NEWS and I filed the claim so we could get the roof replaced inside of our closing date. The adjuster came out and did his thing, he came back with that he could only pay ~$3,500 of this ~$11,000 dollar roof replacement, my deductible was over $7,000. This is CLEARLY not what was told to me twice at this point. I called Adam's office again. Again it was one of his staff that was available. I explained what was told to me in my prior call to the office and she said and I quote "In my 17 years of working in insurance what you were told was correct." 5 minutes later the adjuster calls them and Adam's office staff now says the change in deductible was in April of 2024, not 2025 as was told to me in the first call. Angry, I got the district managers number who called me and conducted an investigation. In that investigation Adam and his staff LIED and said they never told me that the deductible policy change occurred at the 2025 renewal. Completely failing to own up to the mistake they made, giving misleading information about the policy they manage. Costing my wife and I thousands. I have been a customer of this agency since even before Adam took it over. My trust in them at this point is zero with no chance of recovery. This was a complete failure in customer relations and care with zero accountability on Adams part.

An entire wall in his office is a white grease board, which he uses liberally to break things down visually for you. His rates are also extremely reasonable for what you get. If you want someone to actually teach you something about how taxes & finances work, not just shove a spreadsheet in your face, then Bill is the guy.

He was very unprofessional and even stated in his email that he was not going to prepare our taxes for our business. This was on APRIL 1ST!!!! Don't risk using him. Your time is too valuable.
