Always excellent work but getting horribly expensive. I know it's a corporate decision not the individual business' but it does seem exorbitant considering it's not rocket science. Plugging numbers into forms shouldn't cost over $600, even if there is an "extra" form or two. Just a few more taps on the keyboard, in my opinion, can't possibly justify the uncharted. Four stars for the service. Minus one for the ridiculous charges which seem to increase every year. read more

This was the worst experience we have ever had with a tax prep company. We scheduled an off season appointment for some tax assistance with some inheritance money, assuming that the service would be similar to other branches. Apparently the exact opposite. After we explained out situation, the blonde girl who greeted us with attitude doubled down and rudely asked us if the money was taxable. We said we didn't know, and she repeated the same thing, telling us to come back once we knew. What EXACTLY do you think we came here for?? Zero explanantion, zero help, told us to leave, it is like some bizarre joke. How is this branch still in business? read more

I had Jenny and Brianna working on my LLCs bookkeeping and taxes for the last 3 years. No issues. They get busy at the beginning of the year, but so does every tax place, so if you can work around their schedule you'll get it all done. I asked for statements in the mid year, next day they were in my email box. Overall easy to work with team. If you need corp bookkeeping this is a good option. read more

Carol was THE WORST tax professional I have EVER worked with. And the manager at this location was no better. To start, I made an appointment online like I do every year. Which requires you to put a phone number in, and they text you appointment info. So that happens I get texted. Then I show up at my appointment and she just takes my paper and expects me to just leave. And I alert her that I signed up for the 15 min consult. She sits me down IN THE WAITING ROOM to discuss my divorce, loss of job etc. I had to take missy that we go somewhere private to discuss my finances. She was so annoyed I was even there wanting the 15 min appointment I signed up for. She rushes me through my time with her. Doesn't take notes, nothing. So she needs an answer to a. question and she tells me to call her when I find the answer, so I do. A month goes by and I haven't heard anything. I call and nobody can pick up the phone. So I call and call again. Finally I get through to her and she tells me she's been trying to call me but has the wrong phone number. Ok. I updated it in the system to even make the appointment in the first place. Then tells me I owe $6000. I tell her there must be some mistake and she tells me she adds in the child stimulus that I told her I didn't get the time I called her in the phone. She says she'll have to rerun the numbers, and asks if I can come in to discuss. So I do, and her response is that I owe $6000. I tell her there has to be a mistake. She basically tells me that there is no mistake. I ask her to go through the forms with me like every good tax professinal I have ever worked with at H and R block does and she said she did (she did not). so I ask for the manager. she's equally as terrible. She tells me now because of COVID that they basically don't talk to their customers. You drop your paperwork off and they do the filing and there's no talking. And I said "that's funny the last 2 years of COVID I met with tax advisors and they still went through everything". She said "we don't have 2 hours to go through this with you". And I said " it has NEVER taken a tax advisor 2 hours. Maybe 10-15 minutes". She basically told me to take my taxes somewhere or take what Carol had done. I asked if someone else could go through them and she said no. So basically I take what carol did as gospel or take my taxes somewhere else at the eleventh hour and pay again?! she's had my tax paperwork for 6 weeks at this point. I have never been so displeased with a business before. There has to be something she missed, I have never owed before. Then they say it's because the IRS changed forms and to take it up with my HR. I typically get about $4000 back each year. Now I owe $6000?! And she is completely not open to going through and discussing my options and seeing if we can find any deductions or anything. Every other tx advisor does that... they ask questions, they go through everything to make sure they get it right for you. She absolutely, and the manager as well, were 100% not going to help me. This experience alone has just cost them a long- time customer. I've been going here at least 11 years now. These two single handedly lost me and my family as customers. I will tell everyone I know how terrible this experience was and their unwillingness to do their job. She just kept asking me what she should do. I kept telling her I don't know, If I knew how to do your job I wouldn't be here. she kept saying "I plugged your numbers in this is what I got". I want her to use her brain and figure out why the numbers are so vastly different. Use common sense and her training to figure it out. That's why I paid FIVE HUNDRED DOLLARS! Not just for her to plug numbers in to a computer, I could have done that myself. I paid for expertise, not only that I didn't get, but she and her manager REFUSED to provide. Disappointed is an understatement. I will never give my money to these lazy and incompetent "professionals" again. read more

The Tax Representative Jenny Morrin refused to do my taxes ans was forcing me to files jointly with my wife. For years we filed separately and legally. DO NOT USE this office! Extremely unprofessional. First off it's KMART of Tax services. Second I can't remember the Woman's name because she's not memorable but I will be looking at my 2016 return and updating my review with her full name. I walked in to do my taxes had an appt. I had scheduled a few days before taxes were due. The heavyset Woman doing my Taxes had her cubicle close to the front so when I walked in I could clearly hear her and my Ex Husband talking about me. It was loud enough for the entire office and everyone could hear. I stood outside the cubicle and heard everything she said about me as well as what he said. Keep in mind none of the subjects they had open for discussion had anything to do with taxes. It was purely slander and libel. They were discussing my kids and she was gossiping with him while they started making statements about what a bad Mother I am and how I didn't even go shopping for food. Keep in mind I worked day and night and made more than double what my Ex made because I was the one paying all the bills and utilities while he gambled his entire paycheck which she could clearly see because his Win/Loss statements were sitting in front of her face. I never did anything but be cordial to this Woman prior and if she had any professional qualities at all she would of not joined in to gossip and said this is not appropriate, and not my business but instead reveled in talking bad about a Mother who is supporting 3 kids on her own with zero help from the Father. Shame on this Woman. Due to what I heard her say I walked out after confronting them both and my taxes were not done on time because of this causing me all types of penalties. HR Block should be responsible for those. She also had all my write offs and info which I could not get back for quite awhile and they ignored my calls to retrieve them. It's disturbing they had my SS number and all my info and are this unprofessional. HR Block should be held responsible they continue to employ this Woman. I never received an apology from the Manager. The sloppy employee who was enjoying her gossip for the day just ended up looking like a deer in headlights that she was caught saying what she said. Seriously pathetic and I guess that's why at 55 or whatever she is that's why all she's done in life is work at KMART of taxes for 3 months a year and feels the need to talk about those that actually work for a living. She evidently drives from hours away from her hovel in the middle of nowhere that she lives in to work at this office during tax season. I see I'm not the only one leaving a bad review here and hopefully this particular office and their practices are shut down read more

Classic Bait & Switch (AWFUL UNETHICAL EXPERIENCE) I had an astonishing experience with H&R Block. My tax adviser (Lynn Hada) gave me a price of $ 300 for my return in our first meeting before he started the job and then switched it to $ 658 when it was done and in spite of me repeatedly protesting against it - the price that the software generated wasn't lowered to the originally agreed upon price. Astonishing....I am going to write to their CEO now. Now, my taxes are quite simple....i am single....have no home....have no business.....have no dependents ...the reason i have Block do my taxes is because I was going to leverage their name ....to prevent an audit. Worst experience ever. If I could give zero stars I would. They never filed my tax return electronically and then claimed they sent me home with the proper paper work to send to the IRS myself which they never did. 2 years later I finally solved the problem myself with very little help from them. Called and asked them to mail me the paperwork that I would then need to mail to the IRS myself and when I asked them to place it in a PRE-PAID envelope they literally laughed at me... I'm sorry, I already cut a check for over $300 for you guys to handle my taxes and you couldn't even do that. The least you could do is spare $1.50 on an envelope and postage on my behalf. I have been a client for almost 10 years and Jenny and her staff are awesome. I play golf out at Travis AFB in Vacaville and have referred over 15 of my friends to her over the years. They make the drive once a year as I do because she is always up to date on changes that affect us. Trina literally spent an hour trying and successfully finding answers for out of state tax information and actually helped save us money. Very very respectful people and will help in any way they possibly can. As long as we live here we will be having our taxes prepared by this office. read more

Unprofessional and not detail oriented!!!! I took my retired, 75 year old mother with limited English to H&R Block on E. Bidwell in Folsom, California, and a Ms. Durand completed my Mom's taxes for 2015 and 2016. We received letter from IRS in 2017 that we had not declared our social security income and had to pay hundreds in taxes and penalties. I contacted Ms. Durand and she said the client is responsible for providing all the documentation for their income. She did not take any responsibility that as a tax expert, she should have known and inquired about my retired mother (75 years old) social security income. In any rate, we were unhappy with lack of responsibility and did not return to them. Unfortunately we had already filed our 2016 returns with them right before we received letter from IRS. This year, we received another letter from IRS that the same problem was present in our 2016 returns, costing us another arm and a leg. They DID NOT LEARN from their first mistake and did not check to see if the social security income that had been excluded from the 2016 returns, even after we brought it to their attention, had been excluded from the 2015 returns as well. Outraged, we contacted the branch's manager, Jenny Morris. She said she would look into it and at the very least they would reimburse us. She asked for information which we provided and said would have to obtain our returns from archives. Months passed and nothing happened. And when we inquired for an update, dead silence. This branch is unprofessional at worst and not detail oriented at best. Avoid if you want IRS off of your backs. They cost my retired mother, who barely speaks English, couple of thousand of dollars in all. Go elsewhere, save yourselves a headache. read more
