Unfortunately, that's not how it played out. My first appointment was canceled the same week it was scheduled, which left me scrambling to find another time that worked around two jobs. The rescheduled appointment was at a Walmart, which I would not recommend. There was very little privacy--it felt like we were basically out in the open, with customers and even store employees interrupting to ask random tax questions during my appointment. What really surprised me was the cost. My 2025 tax situation was almost identical to the previous year (just one additional W-2), yet I was quoted $650 to file. That's more than double what I paid with H&R Block. I felt confused, frustrated, and, honestly, misled by the advertised promo. The preparer told me the promotion had already ended, which was never made clear when I booked. She did get a $100 discount, but even then, the total was far higher than expected. I tried to resolve things afterward by calling customer service, which only made things worse. My first call dropped after 20 minutes on hold. On the second attempt, I was transferred multiple times, dealt with poor audio, was placed on hold without explanation, and received dismissive responses--including being told that customers typically find them cheaper than H&R Block. When I expressed that nothing seemed to be getting resolved, the supervisor simply hung up. Overall, this was a frustrating and disappointing experience--from scheduling to pricing transparency to customer service. I won't be using Jackson Hewitt again, and based on my experience, I would recommend sticking with H&R Block if you're looking for more consistent pricing and better service.

I had deductions that were immediately overlooked, I even pointed them out since I had the same deductions the year prior- and rather than correct the return - she submitted it without allowing me to look first and told me "well it probably won't make a difference." I had to call multiple times without a response. After she begrudgingly added the deductions and amended the return, the difference was four figures on the return. She actually seemed ANGRY at me for insisting she take a look. She was more concerned with bad-mouthing the other employees (which I had to also listen to), so I knew waaaaay too much about her co-workers than I needed to. Flash to this year, 2018. Turns out, surprise, she didn't do my taxes correctly. I went to a CPA here and there are so many holes in my return I am SCARED to find out anymore. Since last week, I have been on the phone with 4 separate people trying to get the worksheets used and NOT ONE PERSON HAS RETURNED MY CALLS. I have moved out of state and there is no local office in my city - so other than contact the IRS directly, I don't know what else to do. POOR service, poor communication, and absolutely awful experience.

My 2021 business taxes weren't filed until Feb of 2023, but they sent me the invoice to pay in fall of 2021. It's a complete scam.
