The entrance to the Cielo Farms had white double barnyard doors and a high squared archway bearing the Cielo Farms name which was impressive but common in Southwest Ranches. Drove down the long black top road with beautiful white dual pagoda light fixtures mounted on cast aluminum posts on both sides. There was a kids event going on at the center of the nursery with a bunch of vehicles parked in the vacant grassy field. The plant nursery was strictly on an appointment basis only. This nursery rents out the 5 acre area for venues.

I have been going to this establishment for years, practically landscaped my home with yards of…read moreriver rock, plants, trees and pallets of sod. I went there last week for sod and an inexperienced employee damaged my truck with a forklift. One of the employees called the owner who left instructions to take pictures and record my information for resolution. It's been about a week and no call, email or acknowledgement. If there was a remote chance that confidence or concerns were present why not load the sod like they have in the past and after they damaged my vehicle. A lot of new faces and changes have taken place which is starting to surface in a negative light. A phone call to address me and this situation would have been the right thing to do. Unfortunately, my confidence is very low and I will no longer be investing in this establishment. It saddens me to see the level of service and exceeding the customer experience no longer exist.

We wanted a garden that had splashes of color and learned that bromeliads are colorful year-round,…read morewithout having to flower. They need no fertilizer, trimming, or frequent watering. These were the plants for us! We went to Sunshine Bromeliads because they offer a broad choice of plants from which to purchase. They have rows and rows of plants for $10 each - a better price than more commonly known nurseries! (They also have plants for $5 and $25 based on size and type.) The outdoor nursery has a huge area under a tarp for bromeliads that thrive in partial sun and another big area in the open for bromeliads that love full sun. Visitors can get design ideas from the garden area that has a bromeliad-lined koi pond, tree trunks festooned with bromeliad rings, clumping bromeliads used as ground cover, and bromeliads growing on fences, tree limbs, and in shallow rocks! The only thing more stunning than the hot pink, speckled purple, and striped leaves of the plants - or the multi-colored flowers from the bromeliad centers - is the customer service. This family-owned business is obviously a labor of love. We became fast friends with the owner and her family from the first time we visited (we've been back three times). During our visits they identified plants that would thrive in our yard. They always pack each plant for ease of travel. A few weeks ago the owner's daughter even gave me a tomato and pepper from her personal garden. And yesterday the owner gave hubby a birthday gift of a beautiful bromeliad in bloom! They speak English and Spanish and are open from 8 to 4 during the week and 10 to 3 on Saturdays. They have some unique items that no other store or garden center has in this area. I came for sod. Bruno, the new puppy that I rescued on New Year's Eve in the Everglades has been playing with my other two dogs in the yard and bringing dirt in the house. Their sod was excellent quality. I should have waited until my son was available with his truck but they were able to put the sod in the trunk of the new car. I got a cart and couldn't resist the gorgeous scent of the jasmine. Then I found some beautiful annuals. The Mexican lavender was super fresh so on the cart that went too. I even got a new pair of rose trimmers. My neighbor needed mulch so I picked up a couple bags for them and without any space left in my car, I left a happy gardener.
