Over the last 24 months, my personal best in marathon has improved and I can fill stronger and more functional when running. Having completed ironman races himself, he can guide rookie triathletes to achieve the next goal. Nicolas is also a personal trainer at David Lloyd gym. I worked with Nico on a program based around a core of classic barbell exercises - squat, bench,…read moreand deadlift. Training sessions were challenging and fun, and I progressed steadily whilst losing weight and putting on an appreciable amount of new muscle. Beyond just coaching lifting form, Nico has a deep understanding of all the different factors that go into a training program - how to manipulate volume and intensity, when to bring in accessories and alternative forms, and what to do outside the gym to maximise effectiveness. He knows when to push me for a new personal best, but also when I need to be encouraged to dial things back a notch and get some rest, which has kept me injury free and performing throughout the year. I am delighted with the results we've achieved together, but even more than that I have come to really enjoy the whole process. I never thought that I'd be the kind of person who looked forward to working out, but thanks to Nico I am now!
